I have this snare, it sounds great but with no dampening it does have a really high pitched ringing sound which some sound engineers hatee at gigs, also I have changed the top hoop because the Tama hoops destroy your sticks in no time. But I do love this snare after my personal changes!
Sorry but ray FAR outskills david. I really like david's drumming, but he's a 1 trick pony whereas I've seen ray play an amazing array of styles at a few of his clinics.
No he is not. He along with the other guitar player in korn left for their own personal reasons/issues and have not talked to anyone in the band. Last i read he doesn't even own a drumstick anymore and doesn't tell people who don't know that he was in korn. Good thing to because some of his drum sounds really sucked
@littlecodyhead Very mature response. Ray is better in every way than David. I'm not saying Dave's a bad drummer, but Ray is so much better. Now YOU stop being a fucking douche.
@littlecodyhead I don't give a shit how long you've been drumming. It's a goddamn opinion. And how old are you anyway? Your last comment was like an angry 12 year old got all defensive.
Also, how can David be better if he doesn't even play drums anymore? Face it, Ray's drumming is just far more interesting.
Very nice drum indeed, i purchased one in New Zealand for approximately $800 which is currently around $586 American. Its such a pleasure to play, nice and resonant with the Remo Ambassador head that it came with.
Now that David Sylvaria is no longer a TAMA indorser this drum may be more difficult to sourse, definitely recommend it if you get the oppertunity to buy one.
Just got the snare, LOVE it!! Very pleased with the feel and response. You get the deep bottom tone and the crisp pop all in one. Not to mention the beautiful finish. Its everything u want in a snare. Grab it if ya don't have it. Thx Dave and Tama!!
Now that a good snare drum sound plus it looks cool! I want one. Lars's sound like a metal can or an aluminum pot; lots of ugly overtones unlike this one.
There is no such thing as "the best band" it's all preference. I just said I didn't like Korn, I never said they sucked. We each have our own opinions
True. For me being a drummer hearing korn without david silveria honestly has changed my perception of them. The drums don't sound like shit anymore and actually add a texture to the music. @rushistheawesomest
haha if you get offended by the word "christ" in that context, u might wanna get off youtube...god knows how u'll react to the "normal" kind of language ppl use here! :P
I like the snare sound he used on Life Is Peachy, tight piccalo this is too beefy, yet still fuckin awesome

it sounds great, but why did he even create a signature snare in the first place? he just triggers his snare anyway
