Didn't Jimi Hendrix do this song also? What was the name of the band that did the original? I thought that Jimi had wrote it. I like Gary's version the best. Thanks for the info.
When people refer to the 'clapton is god' phrase, at the time of John Mayalls BBs and such, in the mid 60s, no one compared to clapton. He reinvented the blues and brought it to a generation that had the early beatles and rock n roll like the shadows. A far cry from rock 'around the clock' and so he was God! However now many players have supassed anything clapton has ever touched on, but clapton was the starting point for many of these guitarists.
@Akhunslet Green compared to Clapton. And after Clapton left Mayall, Green showed the world that Clapton wasn't shit as a blues guitarist. Clapton was NEVER god.
Newcastle Evening said on 21 4 2009 Maybe it was just the sound. All night Moores three-piece backing band were struggling for a voice. Moore himself, a fabulous technician who let the pyrotechnics just bury the songs and the all-important subtlety.Five tracks in you didnt know whether to clap, cry mercy, or dive for cover. just what i saw at leeds he was rubbish

The Sky is crying was written by Elmore James, Clarence Lewis,
Bobby Robinson and Morris Levy. But Stevie Ray Vaughn made the song famous
