Thanks for the wonderful walk-through! I was wondering, If I wanted an even larger canvass print what printer would you recommend? I'm thinking something that would be around 4.5 feet by 3 feet.
hi there, excellent presentation and friendly enviroment to work with :-D
i would like to ask u sth....this printer which u used is able to print on a real canvas material or it will give a canvas look to the drawing? thanks again
I like your practical and economical way of framing small pictures/paintings. I buy lots of older paintings by listed artists and noticed that many also did their own framing very economically much like what you did here. The important thing is a nice looking final product. In this poor economy saving money is very important for many beginning artists. Thanks for your work here.
This is what is called a "canvas wrap" where the edges of the picture are intentionally wrapped on the edge of the frame. Please see part #1 to see how I duplicated the edges of the picture so that non of the original is lost from the front view.
@snowmonkey81455 I love your tutorials..excellent just what I was looking for ...can you tell me what kind of paper or material you printed on?Is there diffrent options. If so what is the diffrence and when do you apply which. Thanks so much!!!

oh dear. this should be titled " how to not stretch a canvas"
Firstly, you should be using bevelled wood so that the face of the print doesnt touch the wood and sink into the frame. Next, you need to leave an inch extra to stretch with. But you didnt even stretch the canvas?!?! Whats that all about? You need stretching pliers. Also the way you do the corners is awful, there are various easy ways to do this so that a fold isnt viewable anywhere. Really you shouldnt have bothered mate.
I just got my Photosmart B9180 and did a few test prints on HP printer canvas. Looks really good. I have a power crosscut saw that will make framing snap. Do you recommend some kind of varnish to give the canvas a final coating or shine?
Glad you're enjoying your B9180! For a gloss overcoating you could try Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating. It's worked well for me. I found it at an art store. Let me know what you end up using. Thanks!

Truly pathetic. You ended up with an unstretched canvas.

@cheeryble - Actually this is how you frame canvas photo prints. This is not a video on how to stretch canvas for art painting.

Is it really this easy? Why do photo places charge more than $100 to do an A4?

How would you suggest doing an ethnic African painting that's on uneven canvas? Do you trim the edges or just do the best you can?
