  • LMFAO!! db is a great comedic actor. In all his acting history, his funny stuff is the best! In to the night... Ricky Gervais LOL hahahaaaaa! love 'im.

  • O.M.G... LOL! I had never seen this before, had no idea what I was about to watch, and... Oh, man. xD I have never seen David being so, SO deeply sarcastic and ironic while keeping a straight face almost the whole time! I love the way he rolls his eyes and sighs in mock-disgust when he holds the album up... And I lost it at 'Number 4'! After that, I couldn't stop laughing... The whole thing is hilarious! xD

  • I wanna touch his hair...Can I touch his hair? I wanna touch it

  • I love this interview. He is so absolutely spontaneus!

I guess one ends up bored of people fixing your hair for every interview...

  • WOW! David did someone piss in your cornflakes that morning? "GET OUT"?!

  • At 0:50 he reminds me of Robert Webb. The interviewer also sounds like Stephen Fry at the beginning.

  • Very funny:)

  • I SEEK POLE SHIFT SURVIVAL GROUP

  • PAH hahaha"it's about number 4's"

  • The man who fell to Doubleback Alley.....

  • divine man!! i love!!

  • Hilarious the whole way!! , Humor is Survival /Survival is Humor !! Thank You Wordfalling! Soo Much!! Get's me through my workingclass bag !!! LOL!!!

  • Hahaha what is this from? Great stuff

  • ROFL!! I love this!

  • OMG im haveing issues watchin the rest of the vid i keep playin GET OUT!

  • HAHA. Oh God why did I laugh so hard at this? I'm such a child.... when he said number 2, I squealed. And the mumbling at the end. Oh godddddd

  • This is amazing.

Rutles and David Bowie. Ugh yes please.

  • God, I fucking love David Bowie :)

  • Why does david tell that guy to get out hahaha!?

  • I just died on the bit about the bag. :) My parents now think I have problems. I was, literally, on the floor laughing.

  • This is very very much brasseye/chris morris type of humour, once you clock on it's just absolutely hilarious.

  • Can anyone explain what the hell the Rutles is? And how much David is involved in it?

  • LOL It took me forever to watch the whole vid because I kept replaying the "Get out!" part!

  • I'm back! I love this. Hilarious! I wonder to what extent it's improv.

  • Marx Spencer bag

  • Hahahaha! Who knew David could be soooo funny? XD

  • This is amazing. What is it from?

  • This is amazing. What is it from?

  • "We wanted to do something in the avant-garde, or.. without any clothes on". Hilarious!

  • I can't stop laughing!! I'd no idea Bowie could be so fucking hilarious.

  • haha!

    what is this from?

    the Rutles?

I saw that a while ago...

Do not remember Bowie in it??

  • he is so funny he can look very serious when he is joking

  • To fully get the humor, you need to delve into the history of The Rutles. Their first feature-All You Need Is Cash is a classic. This dismal followup-Can't Buy Me Lunch is horrid. Idle in fact rips off half of the jokes from the first Rutles movie and puts it in the second.

Anyway, Jagger did a funny interview in the first one and Bowie did one in the second.

The Rutles are FANTASTIC and helped spawn Spinal Tap.

  • Indeed, the only reason I watched this was because the first film was so brilliant. It is kind of sad when the best part of it (the clip I posted here) wasn't even in the main feature but relegated to DVD extra status. Oh well, better than not having it at all.

  • Well. He doesn't look all to serious about it. These thing happen.

  • It makes me sad when hes angry. The first bit, he didnt even look like he was joking. :( its a funny interview though, the this is with Bowie you never know when he is joking, only when he laughs about what hes said aswell.

  • @DavidbowiEno1Fan

He was definitely joking. David isn't a dick.

  • Where does this come from?

  • "Oh, you mean his wife!"

    Laughed my butt off.

  • Who plays the interviewer in this bit?

  • Eric Idle.

  • Perfect.

  • Funny sketch!

  • I'm not english...what they are talkin about?beatles parody?

    thanks

  • how the HELL am I spossed to know THAT?

  • None of us KNOW anything

We learn, then we know... get to work on your learning and the you to can know

  • on what DVD can I find these extras? would someone be so kind and tell me? thanks! By the way: Bowie is always so much fun to listen to!

  • Love it! Not quite sure what he says at the very end "I thought he was still on the..."

Love when he fights the giggles halfway through -- he's such a little kid when he smiles and laughs.

  • was bowie a BEATLES fan???

  • I think he was. Some of his songs in the early years are very close to Beatles's work. Like Sorrow for example. :-)

  • Sorrow is not one of Bowies, hence it being on pinups (cover album)

  • What do u mean it's not Bowie's... Pinups is his album.

  • Bowie did not write the song Sorrow. IT was first done by the mccoys.

  • pinups is a BOWIE album, full of covers of songs that he likes... sorrow is a cover

  • Oh, now I understood it! 10x for the info :-)

  • he is, mostly a Lennon type. If im not mistaken he said in one interview that guys like the ones in the beatles, Lennon in particular, really drove him to pursue things and was pretty much grateful cuz John Lennon "tipped" him about managing financial managers. at a time when he was spending too much. and if this isnt enuff, Yoko Ono was at his wedding ceremony. i dunno if that counts. :P

  • Would someone type here, what are said in between 1:40 - 1:51, please. Love Bowie.

  • An underrated comedy actor. Oh, and an artistic genius.

  • TMWFTE wasn't comedy

  • I agree. TMWFTE was an amazing debut screen performance but wasn't he really just playing himself?

  • hahaha "i think, no, sex was up for grabs i think. OH, his wife." hahahahahaha

  • InSANEly good. Love David, love the Rutles *sigh*

  • Get out!!! :-DDD

  • This is the best video ever.

Did it just get hot in here?

  • Where did u get this from?? I love it! David has such a dry sense of humour, you have to really pay attention to know if he's joking or not. Really enjoyed it thanks for posting!

he also even has a brilliant sense of humor not only the genius musical talent~!

a perfectly talented man on earth.

he still amazes me with his talent !

Thankyou David You're A Living Ledgend <3 love you ~ Paigee

  • @TightlyFittedPants86 Totally agree with that!!!!! Maybe he also would have been the first one and only truly politician in the world if he became one! ...It's got nothing to do with it, if one can grasp it.... He is brilliant in everything he does!!! And he's sooo funny! He should do more comedy; I really laugh my ass off....

  • His dry humor is amazing

  • XD!!! omg! "GETOUT!" the hair guy probably got lost in his hair XD!

  • he's so tickled XDD

  • I think this is all in humour mode! even the "Get out" bit ROFL!!

  • cheeky cheekies...lol oh my gosh. I love him. ^ ^ But I am a bit confused about why they were going to live in a bag...how does too naked guys in a bag connect to the working class?

...no, sex was up for grabs i think... oh his wife...LOL

  • The whole thing is a joke.

  • A guy I used to subcontract for had a theory that Bowie made a deal with the devil to prematurely age Mick Jaggar and Keith Richards in order to keep himself looking young.

  • Well compared to the covers of The Man Who Sold The World and Hunky Dory he's looking quite masculine here ;)

  • Haha, great respons!

    Still laughing

  • Hehe, that woz brilliant! "get out!!" proper push and all!

  • who said get out? and did david push that dude away? me and my friend couldn't stop laughing!!!!! oh my !!we fell off our chairs!

  • David said that and he certainly did push him, can't get caught being preened I guess. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • omg!! that is soo funny hes like, get out! he says it so quick that you dont know if its him you know what i mean?

  • Heh, sure do, think I've been listening to him for way too long, his voice is like a laser into my ear, instantly recognizable.

It's like when he does backup vocals on someone's song, I stop hearing their vocals and can only hear his ;)

Not that that's a bad thing, his backup on Scarlett Johansson's godawful album was the only redeeming factor and it still wasn't enough. Though hearing Bowie sing Tom Waits songs made me smile.

  • This is funny. The "Get Out" and the pushing the guy out of shot was just part of the joke. He's making fun of himself and trying to act arrogant and self important. There's another bit where he thinks they're talking about his album and not The Rutles. :)

  • "Marks, Spencer and Engels bag"

    I love him :D

  • Its impossible to not love him ;)

Now if only he'd go on tour again...

  • What DVD is this from?

  • The Rutles 2: Can't Buy Me Lunch.

  • ????????

  • Astronaut Gordon Cooper. Drone on.

  • Priceless.
