Stephenie Meyer is the kind of writer I aspire to be like. She just really knows how to pull you into the story—hook, line, and sinker—within a matter of minutes. When I first read “Twilight”, I was sucked in by the first sentence. Even though some people dislike anything “Twilight”-related, that shouldn’t affect their views on Ms. Meyer as an author. Bella is very shallow, as a character. Hasn't glitter and alabaster been used enough? At least Edward has an animalistic instict to "want" Bella. Bella's excuse is what? Edward is Pretty, more than pretty could EVER be?

Don't get me wrong, the books are entertaining, but nothing substantial in any way. The Twilight series books are just milder versions of what Hamilton's Anita Blake series become towards their dismal end, teenage versions, basically without the sex, but equally shallow.

Yes, infact Stephanie Meyer deffinently did base Bella on herself. I saw another interview, and she admited to it. She also said that every girl can see a least a little bit of themselves in Bella. Stephanie Meyer is a true writer, one that can capture you in the story and make you feel the emotions of her characters. This is a really good interview. You can really see how involved she is, and I'm happy she's not taking a backseat. It is her story, after all. I also love the way she adds a certain realism to a supernatural series, and the realism to her characters. Many people say that it is the way she talks about her characters (as if they are real) that makes her different from other authors.
