Hey BARNERS do you have run stop in your defense? Auburn's run defense is horrible and will cost you the Iron bowl this year. QB is ??????????? HORRIBLE!!! Maybe in 10 years you can piece together a team that belongs on the same field with ARKANSAS( you didn't belong on the field with them this year) but never against ALABAMA! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO burn in hell barn NATION! "The BARNER FAMILY" HAHAHAHAHA 36-0
i'm a gators fan, but i gotta say... hell of a year for 'bama. got a lot of respect for em. and way to end the streak. good luck this weekend. it'll be a helluva game!
The 1st few SEC Championship games were Bama Florida. The universe has corrected itself, and all is back the way it should be again. Bama and Florida playing for the championship. Roll Tide!
I guess our "Rammer Jammer Yellowhammer Go To Hell Alabammer" would be just as loud if we had been owned for the last six games, too. We have to let you win once in a while, or you might just want to stop playing...LOL
You really are quite bitter. You seem quite desperate to be taking general shots at the University of Alabama (or in your sorry case, UAT). But then again, you are an API-oh sorry, Auburn, fan.
Alabama is ranked higher (US News & WR) than Auburn in terms of academics and has been for about 5 years now. Just thought I would correct your ignorance.
The difference in USNWR ratings has nothing to do with academics. It has everything to do with endowment. Auburn has several top 10 programs, and many more in the top 25. Alabama has NONE in the top 25. Even the law school is second tier. In the majority of programs that exist at both schools, Auburn is vastly superior.
I never understood why, when backed into a corner, you people try to trash the great U of A by bashing our academics. What an arbitrary thing to try to debate! Also, where does your snobbish Ivy League arrogance come from?! Auburn is nothing more than a good school in the middle of a wasteland. That's all. Both are EXCELLENT academic schools. Alabama just so happens to be better than Auburn at both academics AND athletics (according to rankings). But that doesn't mean that AU is full of idiots.
Look a little deeper in the rankings and notice that the rankings are nearly a dead heat and that UAT has nearly twice the endowment. Money compensates for UAT's lackluster academics. UAT has NO top 25 programs and is a somewhat decent school in a cesspool of a city.
Sorry, across the state at Auburn, academics matter A LOT.
Athletics in general? I guess you throw out baseball, basketball, and swimming and diving. We'll give you the top gymnastics team in the state, though.
It's obvious that you have a hatred of UA, and that's sad. UA had a larger endowment than Auburn way before UA passed Auburn in the academic rankings, bud. You're grasping for straws. Both are great schools, like I said. UA has made more academic progress than AU overall in the past decade, and therefore we have gone above you. Before we passed you, you all used to CONSTANTLY refer to the exact same rankings that I am referring to in order to prove your intellectual superiority.
But it's kind of sad that we're having this discussion. It's even more tragic that you want to believe in your orange-colored world that you are "of the privileged few" to go to Auburn, and that us poor souls at UA are degenerates. Really? Academics matter at EVERY university A LOT, guy. That's what higher education is for. And if you want to look at the BIG picture, all you have on us is womens' basketball and swimming.
Also, Grant is going to sweep your team off the court this coming year.
I know it's wikipedia, but I'm about to go out, so I don't have time to go to each department's site. But type in University of Alabama on wiki, then scroll to where it says 'Rankings and Accolades'. Read the WHOLE thing, and then tell me that NONE of our schools are in the top 15 nationally. Look closely at Law, Culverhouse Business (not business), Communications, and Health Education. Also observe our academic national rankings and growth. There goes your argument, right out the window.
Sorry, Law at UAT is not and never will be on par with Vandy or the Ivies. Ranking in the top 11 publics is a very far cry from ranking in the top 11 nationally.
A program is not the same thing as a school. Auburn's entire school of architecture is on everybody's top ten list, in most cases in the top 5 (Harvard is unanimously #1).
The bottom line is that Auburn is vastly superior in virtually all things scientific and engineering, and in almost everything else Auburn holds their own.
Your points have nothing to do with my post. I am aware that UA's law doesn't rank as high as some. Duh. That's why the program is ranked 11th. You are now deciding to add new parameters to this conversation, and that has led me to understand that you will forever be shrouded in the ignorance you have created for yourself that, regardless of the facts that are right in front of you, UA is less intelligent than AU. And that doesn't bother me a bit, because I accept facts over childish rival bias.
There are a few places where UA is a bit ahead of Auburn as well, but all in all, Auburn has a lot larger number of nationally and internationally respected departments than does UA. The disciplines where AU has clear, definitive advantage tend to be by far the most rigorous disciplines. AU is the state's science and technology flagship and always will be.
But at the end of the day, there is not a lot of difference in the rankings, and not enough to be significant. The major difference in the two schools rankings is that Auburn's academic reputation is in general better than Alabama's but Alabama has about twice the endowment. Both schools are decent, and both have certain peaks of excellence that differ. It's just that in general, the disciplines that we excel in are by far the most rigorous. That's what you don't seem to understand.
And also, I live with several UA engineers who could more than likely blow the doors off of any given AU student. They could have gone to any program in the country with their families' money and their unreal GPA's, but they chose to come to The University. So basically, what I am trying to say is that it is foolish to try to bicker a case for your school being any smarter than ours. We are light years ahead of AU in some departments. That's the way it is when you have two different schools.
No, UAT law is not ranked #11 nationally. It is the #11 public. BIG, BIG difference.
When it comes to talented engineering students, Bama has a few. Auburn has many. Bama has not and never will have a track record of 500 NASA engineers.
The point is that a few great programs do not make a great university. Most at UA are truly mediocre at best with a few fairly bright spots, and that's what I think of UA overall.
There are several departments that UA has (i.e., law) that AU does not and many (indeed many of our strongest ones, like pharmacy, architecture, vet med, agriculture) that AU has and UA does not. Auburn has the clear upper hand in math, science, and engineering- (by far the most demanding and rigorous disciplines). AU and UA are about even in business, at least the MBA, educaton, and most liberal arts disciplines.

And then Bama got caught cheating. Things happen in cycles, you know. Enjoy capitalizing on Tubs' home problems while it lasts.
We never had many problems with you before the 'Bahr' and haven't had too many since. Things will be right again and soon.
