I used to think that this was because a 240p video can run smoother without skipping frames, but now I doubt that's the reason. Youtube creates a different mp4 file to play for different video qualities, the higher ones must have been desynchronised, perhaps the program was struggling with the framerate for some reason.

@Moto200Alt Figured out why: Just watch the video information with right click on the video and then the menu option for that. At the blinking animation, it says, it only has 6 video FPS, and instantly droped frames. Probably, Flash Player is too slow to manage that. Maybe...

@EpicLPer Oh, right. Since video compression is about preserving the previous elements of the frame which are similar to the next one, the flashing is hardly compressable. Flash has to handle a big amount of data display so drops the framerate to half of the original (15fps). Since the colours are inverted every frame, the result is that for longer bursts of time, only normal or inverted frames are shown.
