  • Daniel Ash looks like an old drug dealer,I don't really like his look but what the

hell? He is an extraordinary guitar player and love and rockets are very good and underrated; fucking genius!

  • Kinda' less than ideal for Love And Rockets to play without lights! Oblivious crowd here. Daniel is a bit sloppy here as well.

  • Favorite album when I was in 8th grade... Still one of my favorite albums of all time.

  • god, that was awesome. i think the mirror people was the next song, is that also available on youtube?

  • @ifyouthinkthatwasfun Yeah I'm hearing ya man, I love these guys :)

  • Maybe Los Bros Hernandez wouldn't have minded so much if the band was any good....Christ I've never heard anything so embarrassing....

  • Jesus Christ Does David J age????? Saw them in 86 88 89 and 95 and at one of these shoes AND the surprise gig in California...awesome simply AMAZING!!!!

  • man i will always love these guys. so many good albums. and living where i do, sadly that puts me in the minority...

  • Still one of the best bands that gets to the core of this nasty human existence. Love 'em. Electric show at Red Rocks in 89 and a good dark night at Ogden Theater in Denver in 95(?).

  • As far as the crowd goes, it's Chicago. What else would you expect?

  • @ifyouthinkthatwasfun Actually I was there in that crowd. Eventually a lot of people, including myself, sat down because it was so fucking stupid and boring.

  • May the universe forever bless Perry Farrell for Lollapalooza

  • Saw them open for The Cure with Pixies opening for them. Not sure that lineup can be beaten outside of a festival situation.

  • They sound terrible. They do not belong outside. Indoors is the place for tunes like this. It's like seeing LUSH or JESUS AND MARY CHAIN

live on lollapalooza, just ruined them for so many people.

  • @clevohardcore 90% of all bands at Lollapalooza sound like crap. There's just not enough time to set up and do correct sound checks. Plus the non-arena environment is not conducive to acoustics.

  • Is that audience even alive?? Might as well be a painting...

  • @NicoDeMalcur I was there and you are correct...I was about 40 yards from the stage...jumping around...singing along...and everyone else was standing around with their thumbs up there asses...I had a great time none the less. Saw them back in the 80's and 90's in smaller venues where, of course, everybody was into them...long live love and rockets

  • @ifyouthinkthatwasfun that's exactly what I said. Have you seen the reviews by Rolling Stone and other magazines to Sweet F.A.(one of the best albums ever made)? Fuckin douches.

  • idiot 2008 generation...they don't even know that these guys were biggest influence on all these lame Green Day type bands..

  • About time we get to see the drummer!

  • where do I buy my ticket ....

  • how could I have missed this concert?? WTH?

  • Saw them in G'ville FL in 87 and in Cincy in 89. I couldn't not move.

Especially in 87. Janes Addiction opened. They couldn't compare.

  • @Fluoride47 saw them too in New Orleans when Janes opened up for them...earth, sun, moon...my friends and I were standing there looking a Perry Ferrel jumping around dancing with those dreds in his hair and were like "What is this?"...the only word I understood him say was "Fuck!'...it was an epic evening

  • had many a good shroom trip to these guys in the 80s!

it was a weird time the 80's. the goths per se wernt just so NOT into psychedelix, but many of the bands WERE! so for me and my stonehengey pals these bands were ideal!

  • I love the crowd just not getting them AT ALL... sigh we are lost

  • La verdad es que cuando ves algunos grupos en directo,te llevas una decepcion-David J toca el bajo con un dedo-Daniel Ahs se equivoca en una estrofa,el unico que se salva es el bateria.

  • I was there, they were excellent.

  • ...One American here who understands, but there aren't enough of us. Yeah. When I started seeing kids actually lie down at indie shows, I knew something was amiss here in the U.S.. If I had been at that show, I would have been going berzerk -- borderline kicked out :)

  • It was my mind blowin' Friday/boose stuff in my Walkman for some times. Hahaha. As I am not as much sensible to this music due to my age. It is interesting to ear it again. Honestly seize the f... day while you can. The rest is just human f... work. Don't pollute party! Ho yes F... U2.

  • LOVE AND ROCKETS!

  • Totally agree! They obviously know nothing about L&R! Oh, the kids these days!

  • Love these guys... can't believe I missed them at Coachella!

  • This song was written before most of the crowd were even born.

  • I was at this show. The crowd was kinda lame. Most didn't even know who L & R were. They were there to see their sissy-assed emo pussy bands. I recall being so grateful they were on the bill however, they are much better suited for a club show late late at night but at least we know they're not vampires!

  • L&R aren't the "summer day outside" sorta band. I saw NIN @ Lolla-1 Strobe light's don't work during the day

  • wow Daniel Ash turned into Keith Richards.. he looks wierd...I mean he looked weird before but...

  • Couldn't agree more one of the best bands of all times, I can't believe that crowd I would of been crying tears of joy! I saw these guys back in 1997 in Chicago and it was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen! It helped that I was right in front of my man David J the whole time. If they toured again I would be there in a heartbeat for sure!

  • @djhfan38 , you mean the show at HOB? if so, i was there too!! you're not kidding, that show was seriously by far one of the most amazing shows i had ever seen. and i think i was probably standing next to, or at least close to, you, cuz i was right against the stage on David J's side.

  • @j7609 OMG Yes that was the show! I bet you were possibly right next to me, or very close because I was right in front of David! The only thing close to that show was seeing Bauhaus the next year.

  • @djhfan38 . ps. do you remember that night when they peformed "Yin Yang & the Flowerpot Man" & Daniels' mike started slipping down, but he kept singing & playing, lowering himself in time of how the mike slid down. maybe coz that song is so freakin' fast, there was no time to fix it. don't know? but that show is in my tops of all time! which says a lot considering how many shows i've seen. L&R<3!!!

  • @j7609 I do remember that I felt so bad for him but he handled it like a pro! Like I said before the only other show I have seen that comes close to that one was the Bauhaus shows I saw the next year. Those blew me away too!

  • Just brilliant xx <3

  • I wish they would tour again! chubs had it right about the bands back in the '80's Pixies, Janes, The Cult, Replacements, Love and Rockets. Music that was part of my life back then and still is now!

  • They look more like a proper rock band now, less girlie looking.

  • maravilloso tema este de love nd rockets

  • Love and rockets. The cult. Janes Addiction. These bands were in their prime before my time but i love this music. A hell of a lot better than most the shit out there these days.

  • You are so right! It is impossible to listen to rock radio today and think that any of that crap (Seether, Nickelback, Killers, place popluar rock act here) and try and argue that Love and Rockets, Jane's, Pixies, The Cult, not only are better, they actually sound fresher.

  • These bands were in their prime during my time and I still love this music. Criminal that they were overlooked then; don't even know if the first two would ever past A&R vetting nowadays a a major recording company.

  • Dude, really? I'm a Chicagoan and have seen Love and Rockets 4 times. First time was back in '90-'91 or so (?).

This particular show they sounded kind of dead. It wasn't the performance either, which was a shame, it was more the acoustics of that particular stage, which just really fucked them over.

  • Holy fuck!Thank you!

  • you said it BB! i saw these guys in LA on the earth sun moon tour. dry ice covering the stage then the bubblemen come out. talk about unparalleled atmosphere! still one of the best shows i have ever seen. they made a live cd out of that show years later. david j is simply the coolest!

  • bauhaus best band of the planet with the beatles and daniel ash the best rock guitar alive

  • Let me tell you something kids, this band fucking rocks now and in the day, wow were they awesome at Lolla this year!! My kids and wife wanted to see Gnarls Barkley and I said, "What, are you nuts??I watched this entire set and Danny is awesome. Love him without the Goth look, too, he looks like a cooler slash and every bit the guitarist!! WOW
