Affirmed vs. Alydar - 1977 Hopeful Stakes (3rd Meeting)

One of the greatest if not the greatest rivalry in horse racing. Alydar has great stamina but Affirmed seems to have slightly more spring in his step which usually gave him the edge as it did in setting the race record here.

Tilt Up was a great sprinter. Surprised to see Darby Creek Road up so close early, he turned into a dead stone closer later. Still great stuff you post here cf1970.
