dude, you post some great shit here, this is one of those derek moments when you're just sittin here watchin it with a ear to ear grin, wishing you were there.
I think Luther's pretty damn good, but I don't think he's on the same level as Trucks as far as phrasing and technique go.. this guy is in a league of his own right now.
i met him after a show in chicago earlier this year where he had an original 59' les paul, ive also seen him play a PRS cst22, a high end washburn, a D'angelico hollowbody, and a another Danelectro similiar to the one he plays here, all in all, no matter what he plays, hes the best there ever was, an absolute pleasure to watch him perform and im one lucky bastard to have met him and have a conversation, very down to earth guy, yonrico has an ego to size of russia, the rest were all cool though
@apkbluesman - I believe this song is originally by Guitar Slim. This version however is based on the version done by Hop Wilson. I don't know if Derek has recorded it on record. Not many people cover Hop Wilson songs. Leave it to Derek to find the great ones. Hop Wilson also recorded a version under the title "I Feel So Glad".
I love Trucks. Just can't stand his singer -- sounds like he's TRYING to be bluesy.
