@NobleUniverse Sorry, but that is incorrect-- his father was forced to abdicate at the start of WWI in 1941, and his son Mohammed Reza Pahhlavi was in power from 1941 until 1979, making him the Shah during the 1953 coup of the democratically elected Mossadegh. Funny to think that the first time iran strove for democracy, the incompetent Pahlavis and their tryst with the West brought it crashing down.
