This is the best Christmas episode ever. The Doctor The Widow and The Wardrobe was an undeniable disappointment, in terms of a Moffat script it was his worst episode yet. Series 6 was great though and I hope Series 7 and maintain the same brilliant quality.
i wish that the 10 doctor still have the tradis & the 11 doctor accident he went to the same place just early and change the past so the 11 doctor was a little bit late and he ran in to 10 doctor .11 doctor change every in portent history so the 10 doctor was kill so the 11 doctor that was there was a paradoxical so the 10 & 11 have to work together to fix it before a vortex rip in the universe and stop it before destroy every thing. Look, crying isn't emo, emotionalism isn't emo necesarrily. thats just dumb. he was a guy who was DYING, effectivly or losing a part of himself he really, really liked. r we gonna pretend dying isn't scary, isn't something 2 cry about (let alone the pain he was in). and the final line...its tru who WANTS 2 die, who wants to ''go". I think it was echoing the audience as well, alotta ppl didn't want him 2 go
the child Sardrick (spelling?) was quite good for a child actor. BUT I was most imp with Ms Jenkins. Smith was awsome. Dumbledore was awsome, but ud expect them 2 b. Jenkins howeva, has allegedly NO, or little, acting exp and I found nothing seriously wrong with her performance, and nothing at all wrong with her singing. all that considered she did magnificently

@227060 Some people count it as one some don't, it sits in the Christmas period since it aired (Part One) Christmas day. Since it was set and aired on Christmas and it was a 'special' episode (in the sense that both a regeneration and it was two of 2009's specials) i will count it as one.

@CrazT729 Runaway was my least fav but it intro Donna who i liked in S4. Voyage, like Carol was more of a standalone, but this ep was bttr. I like all of em really, End of time pt1 is tricky cos da xmas factor is so secondary AND its a part 1 so its unfair 2 jude by itself

this was really boring. I hated this christmas special i drove allll the way down to my cousins house that christmas just so i could watch this (trust me it's super far). and what do i get super disapointment. i was so bored i got sidetracked and just left the TV running while i was upstairs talking to ppl. usually it goes that i am telling ppl to shut up and leave me alone so i can watch it bcuz i am so interested but this :(. big big big waste of time.

@SuperYellow1989 YES!, i must admit rory and amy are adorable, but amy and the doctor have such clashing personalites and even if they didn't end up being a couple still get rory out of the picture so there can be some love tension between them or something
@SuperYellow1989 Actually I find it quiet refreshing to not have the doctor pinning over yet another girl who will no doubt die before him, personally I was getting a bit tired of all the fail romance in his life. Not to get me wrong, I loved the series with Rose but I like the change with the new doctor for now.

Hes destined to be alone, its his burden and i think thats what makes doctor who a lasting charater and why people love him so much. He always going to have to deal with falling in love and then loosing the people he loves while he lives on, its heart breaking but all the great love stories are.
Loved this episode so much. Especially the "Christmas Future" at the end, where Kazran is like "Then show me!" And rants, not realizing him as a child is RIGHT THERE. The Symbolism is poetic. =D
This was definitely my favourite Christmas special so far (closely followed by The End of Time). I don't understand how people find it the worst episode... I actually liked how there wasn't really a real enemy, it made it feel more Christmassy. :)
My favorite thing about the eleventh doctor is his complete and total awkwardness around women, especially compared to ten who was so good with them. It's amazing how one man (or alien I guess) could be a ladykiller one day and than be completely clueless the next!

Though I didn't hate the show & I still watched it. So I'm sorry you missed a Great Doctor Who season and an amazing christmas special. But then it's your loss.
I am american, so don't judge me. But I've always loved Doctor Who. David was my first doctor, and to see him leave really saddens me. I haven't watched any of Matt Smith, but these previews are making me love him already.
@jkarani just to clear up that point about donna noble,the Dr. put in an extra mesure to release alot of the huon particles when she started to remember(plus the "dr.donna" was still inside her head to also do some good),hence all the "masters" being hit by the light that came from her head.had it stayed in her head it would have killed her.
@jkarani In "The Writer's Tale" RTD said he rewrites nearly all of the scripts, apart from Moffat's, Matthew Graham's, Stephen Greenhorn's, and Chris Chibnall's. Even RTD wondered that it would look like, in hindsight, that he hadn't written most of the other episodes, when he took a co-writer's credit on The Waters of Mars and Planet of the Dead. this was really boring. I hated this christmas special i drove allll the way down to my cousins house that christmas just so i could watch this (trust me it's super far). and what do i get super disapointment. i was so bored i got sidetracked and just left the TV running while i was upstairs talking to ppl. usually it goes that i am telling ppl to shut up and leave me alone so i can watch it bcuz i am so interested but this :(. big big big waste of time.

I really loved this special. Loved David Tennant's Doctor, but Matt Smith's is still fun and awesome. BTW is it just me, or:
1) Matt Smith's Doctor is much smarter than the others and can therefore plan things ahead in a manner that looks like hair-brained fumbling
2) Matt Smith's Doctor is just as smart as the others but doesn't think before he does things, but is also insanely lucky.
Personally, I think it's the latter. Which is even more fun. :)

Doctor who used to be my FAVORITE show but its really gone down hill now.
Its a shame cas matt smith is excellent, its the writers who are letting the side down.
They just dont seem to understand you NEED a love interest to keep the story going.
thats why rose and the doctor had the best series ever made.
why on earth they have picked a married couple as his companions this time ill never know.......its SO DULL!
you need aliens + adventure + love story to make the perfect doctor who episode.

@SuperYellow1989 Actually I find it quiet refreshing to not have the doctor pinning over yet another girl who will no doubt die before him, personally I was getting a bit tired of all the fail romance in his life. Not to get me wrong, I loved the series with Rose but I like the change with the new doctor for now.

@chaoticaism i geuss every one likes diff stories.............but i will say i think any great doctor who needs a rose charater.
Hes destined to be alone, its his burden and i think thats what makes doctor who a lasting charater and why people love him so much. He always going to have to deal with falling in love and then loosing the people he loves while he lives on, its heart breaking but all the great love stories are.

Loved this episode so much. Especially the "Christmas Future" at the end, where Kazran is like "Then show me!" And rants, not realizing him as a child is RIGHT THERE. The Symbolism is poetic. =D

This was definitely my favourite Christmas special so far (closely followed by The End of Time). I don't understand how people find it the worst episode... I actually liked how there wasn't really a real enemy, it made it feel more Christmassy. :)

My favorite thing about the eleventh doctor is his complete and total awkwardness around women, especially compared to ten who was so good with them. It's amazing how one man (or alien I guess) could be a ladykiller one day and than be completely clueless the next!

@spirit0423 Actually, Ten wasn't that good with them either, just a bit... less bad. It was more them chicks latching onto HIM than the other way around XD The Doctor is generally pretty clumsy with such things..

@PenultimateRun No he won't. People said that about RTD, and it turned out alright. In fact, Moffat's era is proving to be just as popular - 10 million viewers for this Xmas ep!

RTD vs Moffat is a little bit like Hellmuth vs Ivey heads-up. They're both respected, so it looks a fair fight ; it just isn't quite.
I'm yet to see anything by Moffat in any show that doesn't pwn.

@PenultimateRun That is a horrible thing to say. To be a doctor who fan is to love the episodes good or bad, Sometimes I couldn't stand Rose and RTD's writing. Though I didn't hate the show & I still watched it. So I'm sorry you missed a Great Doctor Who season and an amazing christmas special. But then it's your loss.

I am american, so don't judge me. But I've always loved Doctor Who. David was my first doctor, and to see him leave really saddens me. I haven't watched any of Matt Smith, but these previews are making me love him already.

@jkarani just to clear up that point about donna noble,the Dr. put in an extra mesure to release alot of the huon particles when she started to remember(plus the "dr.donna" was still inside her head to also do some good),hence all the "masters" being hit by the light that came from her head.had it stayed in her head it would have killed her.

@jkarani In "The Writer's Tale" RTD said he rewrites nearly all of the scripts, apart from Moffat's, Matthew Graham's, Stephen Greenhorn's, and Chris Chibnall's. Even RTD wondered that it would look like, in hindsight, that he hadn't written most of the other episodes, when he took a co-writer's credit on The Waters of Mars and Planet of the Dead.
