  • Best Part of the video: *Gunshot*

Porky: What? Oh, must just be the mice.

Me: You have no fucking clue... Lol.

  • Man this brings me back.......

  • I love the part where Silvester brakes off a huge tree branch like he was going to use it as his weapon of choice, but then he was thinking "Screw This, I taking the whole tree!!"

  • I remember there being a different version of this episode whereas porky never discovered the murdering mice and sylvester was forced to hit him over the head and drag him out of the house in the end....

  • @BbDle88 Yea that was another episode titled "Claws for Alarm"

  • @doylescordy Oh yea!! Now I remember, I loved that one as well....

  • I love the part when Sylvester comes back pale white and says meow the most.

  • 1:28 Porky has no penis?!

  • 4:52 The most creepiest moment.

  • geez, what a dark episode.

  • i've always thought that porky speaks in a very very amusing way! :D

  • Most imaginative.

  • 5:02

  • This is CLASSIC Cartons to the Nth Power! Thanks so much!

  • Just looking at this, I now realize why Sylvester resorted to hunting Tweety after being Porky's pet, and putting up with his naiveness

  • And the moral of the short is....always listen to your pet!

  • Where'd you find the original titles

  • Mel Blanc's Porky Pig voice cracks me up every time.

  • 5:27

  • 5:29

  • 0:55 LOL "what the..?"and sylvester covered his mouth. xD

  • funny how in "The Scarlet Pumpernickel" Sylvester was TALLER than Porky..

  • Oh, this old cartoon had it all. Guns, implied torture, platonic relationships... even what appeared to be a racist joke at the end, though I think it was making fun of a person instead of a people so I am probably wrong.

  • 6:20 Where's Guile's theme when you need it?

  • I'm 24 and I still remember watching these as a kid. My nephews love them too. The scene with Sylvester and the gun was priceless xD

  • best looney tunes short ever

  • You have to wonder what Sylvester saw when he was underneath the floor.

  • @dharmaseed Probably saw the mouse's torture chamber and bloody headless victims ;o)

  • The last few seconds was the funniest scene

  • llllllooollll omfg to fucking funny

  • second only to the kangaroo-lighthouse episode

  • Love this one!!!!! My all time, Saturday morning favorite!!!

  • it's strange how the older the cartoons are the bether they are.like this series came out before my grandparents were born and yet it still rocks.most other twelth year olds i know would rather watch boring cartoons like spongebob whatpants that they show on tv everyday.i've already seen most of the episodes...8 times!

  • NOW THESE ARE CARTOONS!

  • i love how they use old but funny gags like not actually falling until the character realises there's no ground

  • when i first saw sylvester take out the gun i thought he was going to shoot the mice but SUPRISE!

  • Oh yeah. I remember this one. Lol

  • 1:15 - 1:26

Sylvester reminds me of my soon to be eight year old daughter.

  • At least this time Porky realized Sylvester was truthful.

  • I love how Sylvester closed the bird house window instead Lol

  • MCMXLVII = 1947

  • I love Silvester´s Kiss

  • When someone asks "What's the short where Sylvester puts a gun to his head to kill himself," I will direct them here.

  • This shows Porky as an unfit pet raiser, which doesn't hurt his good cartoons, and Slyvester tells the truth. This is obnoxious not funny.

  • LOL A Classic.. love this episode

  • Make sure yall check out philly own Shane Real on youtube

  • For some reason i always assume that all commenters are males

  • This is an episode which i thought was so scary. But wasn't the mice wheeling the cat away suppose to be in black robes like a black mass.

  • The ones with sylvester and porky are so awesome

  • Who are the 7 soulless people who disliked this wonderfuly funny cartoon? They must be dead inside. Sad.

  • He was being a good kitty!

  • LOL

  • @ jmjhays64, thanx!

  • wares the one with the hotal

  • The USA was a very different nation back then.

  • Why is there a cut in this video? We don't see the sequence of the walking ghost (mice standing on each other's shoulders and covered by a sheet), which I thought was awfully eerie for just an animated cartoon.

  • there was another cartoon with sylvester and porky in a haunted motel where the mice were under a sheet, does anyone know the name of that one? the only version i found here is in italian :(

  • @gigi21073 The one you are looking for is called "Claws for Alarm". Go to Bliptv.com. You can find it there.

  • haha he was gunna shoot himself!

  • LMAO! I LoVE MEL BLANC.. @5:25 he sez I should have gotten a cock - er - a Steely Da aa a dog.. For those of you who have read "Naked Lunch" you would know that a "Steely Dan" is large metal dildo.... So well is saying that porky would be better off with a penis than some pussy.... LOL

  • Now get in there and fight!! fight!!!! fight!!!!!

ha ha ha is best part

  • Pootsey cats are da craaaaziest peoples!

  • Thumbs down thanks to the fact that we know Slyvester tells the truth, Porky doesn't listen, & 5:28 - :42 'Un'forgiving words.

  • 2:00 this is scary

  • 6:10- 6:58

As a child this was most epic pep talk I ever saw. I remember being scared to death of everything when I was a girl: mice, bugs, the dark, etc. I completely sympathized with Sylvester; we were of the same mind. But when I saw this episode, I suddenly had this “paradigm shift”, and began re-evaluating “who’s supposed to be scarred of who?” This episode had true character development and growth simplified for a child, and it will forever be my favorite Looney Tunes Episode. (^_^)

  • @nomy9 estuvo realmente convincente ese comentario tuyo y asi es este episodio tambien me llena de fortaleza cuando me siento un cobarde...adoro este episodio Silvestre X100pre

  • @nomy9 Couldn't have said it any better. Long live WB in the 40's.

  • @nomy9 Brilliantly said! :) In my case it wasn't about fear of that kind(although I did hate dark rooms), it was more about fear of the failure and about the times when I simply needed a motivation.

6:10 - 6:58 Is one of my all time favorite scenes because it never fails to motivate me! I always believed that sometimes you just need to CUT THE LAZINESS/FEAR ABRUPTLY AND JUST DO IT! And watching this cartoon as a child really added a fuel to that philosophy of mine.

    Thank you Looney Tunes! =]

  • @nomy9 Nice story.

  • @nomy9 It's kind of interesting the Freudisms they included in the cartoons, also. Did you notice that the sky was dark before the conscience's pep talk, and got more and more red as Sylvester got angrier?

  • @dharmaseed - I think that's, perhaps, a little too analytical for these funnies, don't you think? I'm of the opinion, that the scenery changes, you alluded to, were more symbolic of each distinct scenario. Wow, now I'm doing it! :^)

  • @Democrat64 Yeah, it's contagious!

  • @nomy9 When I was a girl? wtf?

  • Now 5 people dislike this. Gosh.

  • @teakbridge101 5 mice

  • I am still wondering how 3 people can dislike this!!!!!!!

  • What is the name of the song at 1:59

  • @rampage0140 It's the Funeral March by Chopin

  • lol i remember when i was a child that part about sylvester ghost white coming through the door freaked me out xD

  • my kid janiyah loves it

  • who the fuck that 3 pepole that doe's not like luny toons?!

  • "Dadadadeeeeeeer and the an-te-lopes, dadadeeeeer and the an-te-lopes"

    *Rinse and Repeat*

  • I like it when Sylvester tries to kill himself.

  • They don't show cartoon characters trying to off themselves anymore

  • If only Witnesses to crimes could explain things physically the way Sylvester did at 2:28(ROTHEFLRLMFAO)!!

  • Is that a No-Homo moment Sylvester and Porky were having as Porky went up the steps and and got dressed in His night clothes(LMAO)!!

  • This was no 1948

  • 4:35 "Mice!" You have no idea you oblivious hog!

  • i like this loony tunes scaredy Cat

  • omg this video is older than me ... i love it :))

  • I like 1940's looney tunes better than the modern 3D ones..

  • Scaredry cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • Why doesn't Sylvester talk in this episode? he reminded me of Tom Cat.

  • @VozDRazon Maybe the mice give him to eat meat from the other cat!

  • What happened to Sylvester for nearly 3 hr?

  • Great cartoon I like the last part

  • Love that Warner Brothers logo! Good times. Humor was not crude or mean-spirited.

  • i love that! wow, it has been a long time ago!

  • 5:02 . . . O_o

    Poor Sylvester . . . :(

  • 1:27 What part of that is not gay?!

  • @TheAzzkicker3000 i just knew this game from you -.-

  • 5:10 ... :))))))))))))))

  • lovee

  • so what is the last line by the mouse supposed to portray? That the other mice weren't actually going to do any harm or did any only wanted to see how people/cats would react during intimidation or soemthing?

  • I never got that line 7:13 Where is the original saying from?

  • @ryudragon7 Lew Lehr was the comedian whom they parodied.

  • Hard to believe that even on CN, this was edited.

  • @ElenaCamy

That wasn't Sylvester, it was Daffy (yeah, the OTHER spitting lisper of this bunch, LOL). I'm pretty sure the cartoon you're thinking of is "Daffy Duck Slept Here" (1948).

  • @ElenaCamy 'Daffy Duck Slept Here'.

  • @Jenkinsmum

Characters are different depending on the writer and director. Most Slyvester shorts were made by Friz Freleng (which paired him with Tweety or Speedy) or Robert McKimson (paired with Hippety Hopper).

To my knowledge Chuck Jones has only used Slyvester 4 times. In the two other shorts (Claws for Alarm, Jumpin Jupiter) that along with this one make the Porky and Slyvester horror trilogy. And the Scarlet Pumpernickel which is the only Chuck cartoon where he actually speaks.

  • @kingboobs20

Even though Sylvester was basically Freleng's character, I find him more likeable as he was portrayed by McKimson (and the very times by Jones).

  • @Marbles471

Meant to say "very few times"

  • absolute classic ...love porky..

  • i know this may sound wierd, but i wanna know what the song at 2:00 is, PLS ? :)
