  • I bet that very same plane had been flying re-supply missions in Nam, I wonder how many 'air-hours' that airframe had on it.. If somebody knew then what happened here could've been avoided.

  • How the fuck did this happen? Wins don't just snap off.

  • @smileyking96

...wings don't just snap of...wtf dude, you just saw it happen.

  • @smileyking96 Exactly how the fuck did that happen? Nothing touched the plane! I am also curious

  • OMG, so sad, my heart is broken with this down in your duty, air fireman crew, and my favorite plane

  • Ouch

  • I would hate to be one of the guys watching that.

  • what caused the crash?

  • 0:05 it's a trap !!!

  • The NTSB determined the cause to be metal fatigue in the right wing, and also inadequate maintenance procedures to detect said fatigue. No pilot error, so they were most likely flying at maneuvering speed for their load. The report # is LAX02GA201 if you want to look it up.

  • WHAT all 3. no one lived WOW

  • Did I just see it catch on fire? 0:06

  • Fuck.... Can you imagine knowing you are screwed like that and not having any means of ejection....

  • pinche tarado

  • jaj

  • its not a c-130

  • @Zoppim yes it is, i work on the structures of these aircraft for a living

  • Holy shit! Why did the wings do that?

  • Damn. Such amazing pictures of a horrible event. That's the first time I've seen some moron on youtube film something horrific like that without shaking the camera around as if they had a seizure.

  • imagine if it was a ac-130 full of ammo 0.o

  • @snipmen01 Imagine if it was a winged hydrogen bomb

  • @disgustingcreepymale imagine if it had a nuke

  • @snipmen01 what do you think a hydrogen bomb is...?

  • @TheeGoldenOreo oh right shit i learned this at history :/

  • the three that died were my dads best friends i even new them

  • ooooh that would hurt

  • Thank you. I jumped those things. Great planes but the water load would have been more than 40 paratroopers. Also they did not throw us around like they can with water. We would have complained, and spilled : )

  • LOL LOL LOL

    Made in USA

  • @terrorfalc I'll punch your face in

  • hercules is OLD .............

  • @DEVASTATOR478 That one was likely very old but they still fly and I think they are still in production. Fords are old too but they still make them.

  • @Alexmcgruer3 even some Ferrari there are old .... but not precipitate. seriously, we need to reinforce the structure of the C-130..... best galaxy c-5 !

  • Good, americunt trash shoot down by Taliban Air Defense

  • @DisgorgeKILLusa anti-american trash make stupid comment on american website

  • @T1Brit inbreed americunt inbreed trash go to die, gaymerican sites is deep cock shit

  • @DisgorgeKILLusa Then what are you doing on deep cock shit gaymerican site ?

I think you like deep cock shit gaymerican sites :)

  • @T1Brit Nothing of course, I love beat americunts in online and in real life. Youtube is crap but this is international.

    Please fuck usa with me.

  • WOW epic fail.... and thats why i hate flying....

  • to write it i mean

  • I wrote my comment on my sucky phone and it didnt delete what i deleted,i didnt meant the "because im swedish"

  • The center wing box failed due to metal fatigue. The C-130 does not have a spar, therefore all the stress within the wing is concentrated (mostly) in two locations, the outer wing attachments and the center wing box. When the C-130 flies this mission the wing loads are much greater because of it's

non-standard configuration. Sadly 3 highly experienced aviators perished.

  • @chuckielee0821

Yes, and same accident in France in fire combat: the C130 is now forbidden as water bomber...

  • How could the wings fall of

  • I WISH I WERE A BIRD

  • The plane exceeded it's designed maneuvering speed (Va). The Va varies with the gross weight of the airplane. So when the pilot dumped the payload and pulled up, he/she exceeded that factor therefore ripping the wings right off.

  • The rubber-band broke.

  • are there people laughing around 0:08?

  • @yukibanes He said: ITS GOING TO CRASH!

  • @thegoosebrain Thanks I was wondering what that noise was.

  • @yukibanes No there is a guy screaming : OH ! ITS JUST CRASHED!!!

  • China copy, they removed the A.

  • @winnerbecken ...what the shit are you talking about?

  • @Necrotwilly AC130 from mw2

  • @winnerbecken Haha i thought you might, read up some before you post some idiotic comment on a video, okay pal?

  • @Necrotwilly Do you think i was serious? Do you have downs syndrom or something?

  • @winnerbecken What reason do i have to think you WERE serious when every little shit in the world thinks they know military equipment from playing loads of Call of duty?

  • @Necrotwilly Ta det senaste på svenska för det där säger mig ingenting.

  • @winnerbecken Google översätt är din vän.

  • @Necrotwilly Det är din grammatik som är problemet.

  • Yeah, that was pretty fucking epic.

  • will this work with my mac

  • to bad it happened, maybe someone have got a kid and is on their way home or have a cure for cancer or something and then this happend

  • That is not a C-130,ive sen one and it just have 2 engines and it's usually have grey color and mostly used in the swedish army,i now this because i'm Swedish

  • @MrPiskfinne It IS a C-130A, owned by Hawkins and Powers aviation (California). The wing center box failed in flight after a pass on a fire, 3 crew killed.

  • @MrPiskfinne wth are u on about? the c-130 always had and always will have 4 engines....i know this because i do

  • @MrPiskfinne I won't judge you. You're thinking about a c-27 "spartan." A similar plane, but it isn't a c-130. I know this because I'm in the US air force. Your welcome.

  • @CaptainHenroyMorgan Okey, yeah that's the plane i was thinking about. Thank you!

  • @MrPiskfinne It's a C-130.. Tail number N130HP to be exact. Maybe you're thinking of a G.222, but I don't think Sweden has any. No disrespect, just facts.

  • @BrassAxe No, sweden got c-130'sthe swedish name for it is TP84

  • @anden191 I was saying that I don't think Sweden has G.222 's... I know they have C-130's, hell, theres like 75 countries that operate C-130's...

  • The wings became loose after hard flying.....

  • Dead

  • Poor pilots and crew just doin there job :(

  • bad maintenance and wrong people who got to make the decisions.

i wont dare to take off with such plane if i knew that it was maintained the way it was.

  • Comment removed

  • It's called years of carrying a heavy payload that is suddenly released over and over again. Every time that happens the wings flex a great deal due to the sudden loss of weight against them. Metal fatigue unfortunately become metal failure if left unchecked.

  • Did any of u guys hear "IT"S A TRAP!"?

  • how does it come, that BOTH of the wings fall apart at exactly the same time?! I don't think that was because of the age of the C-130. It more looks to me like a bombing. Remember that this "accident" happened at a time when a lot of series of fire upsets in the forest all around USA and Europe happened.

  • @TeraPilot6978 why would "they" do that

  • @shotgunner211

for the same reason why terrorists are terrorists!

  • @TeraPilot6978 but why kill 3 r 5 people in the plane than 100 or or so in a commercail jet

  • @shotgunner211 - Do you think you might like to re-write this ? In English this time, so that it can actually be understood !!! Just a couple of minor issues: spelling, punctuation and grammar !!

  • @AussieAviator my teachers n3v3r learned me good

  • @shotgunner211 - It's up to the student to learn. Not for the teacher to 'hold your hand' throughout the entire process !

  • not a pilot error - that aircraft had some years on her and water is so heavy ,

  • It was tryna swin' wings like a bird. Cool !

  • So for everyone thats anti-intellectual what happened is the wings where getting so much lift like they should. the instant loss of weight from what they where dropping caused how much the wings had to lift dramatically dropped. So the wings where providing too much lift after the agent was dropped.

  • Pilot: I accidentally the wing release :(

  • how the fuck

  • wikisource . org this: NTSB_accident_summary_for_N130HP

  • Sometimes I wish we did not live in a time where everything is put on video. A sickening and sad result of trying to help out others.....

  • Probably designed by IKEA

  • HOW the hell did that happen????!

  • R THaY OKAI?

  • @LunaMuffins at the end "all 3 people on board were killed" RIP people who died.

  • This made me sick

  • @SecondCocacola: agreed, I can't fathom this kind of thing happening. And to think that I've rode in a Hercules a time or two.

  • Strength beam was left out during maintenance from between torsion box! wings had no chance RIP

  • Oh Jesus! oh my god! This is why us mechanics must be very strict with our inspections and standard maintenance pedicures. I hate to say it but some one missed that problem on the airframe. If they were following there civilian T.O. that aircraft would never have left the ground. My heart goes out to there famillies!

  • Oh Jesus! oh my god! This is why us mechanics must be very strict with our inspections and standard maintenance pedicures. I hate to say it but some one missed that problem on the airframe. If they were following there civilian T.O. that aircraft would neve have left the ground.

  • @ThePosterAD Bail out in 3 seconds? Yea sure.

  • IT'S A TRAP! Please don't tell me I'm the only one that heard that.

  • @Alexhart123 He said "He just crashed!"

    Tough one isn't it.....

  • @Alexhart123 “jesus crap"

  • @Alexhart123 they said it's gonna crash... lol. said it fast.

  • @Alexhart123 i heard, "Itjustcrashed"

  • @Alexhart123 well he said: it just crashed...

  • @Alexhart123 " It' a crash!"

  • @Alexhart123

    I heard "It just crashed".

  • @Alexhart123

    He says "It just crashed!"

  • @ThePosterAD You don't have audio? "All three people on board were killed"

  • @ThePosterAD can't bail at that angle, and you can't bail from C130's, unless from 15000ft+ when you hav time to open the hatch, but theres a 4% chance you'll get nailed by the rotors

  • Probably metal fatigue. Wings don't just fall off an aircraft

  • True heroes. May their souls rest in peace.

For anyone wondering how the wings fell off, the plane was probably overloaded and the g force from the manuever was too great for the wings to withstand.

  • how in the world did the wings come off these mechanics must of not taken care of this plane geez

  • @BiHKalashnikov That's a good question. Gotta wonder how thorough the routine maintenance was on this airframe.

  • omg

  • damn that shit is FUCKED UP, I never seen this on the news! if i were the loved ones of those who were killed I would sue the company who made that AC! Wings aren't suppose to just fall off... even w/ the heat from that fire.

  • @ThaJew420 It was one of the first C-130s ever manufactured. It was probably due to metal fatigue. It was being used for firefighting, so it probably endured a lot of crazy maneuvering.

  • @336kgf This is what happens when you exceed Va. As the load is dropped the Va of the aircraft dramatically reduces and the stress upon the airframe and wings ala lift produced multiplies.

  • @appleglory Agreed. I never thought the Herc was designed for those kinds of extreme maneuvers in the first place.

  • @336kgf The Herc can do some pretty amazing things. AFSOC uses it for tac insertions all the time, which often means a lot of yanking and banking when you're just off the deck. You're right, though. Overloading on weight or G limits can do this. Could also be metal fatigue. Wonder how what kind of routine maintenance was done on this plane. RIP, heroes.

  • @FraAngelico729 Kind of makes you wonder if the maintenance specifications for firefighting planes are even close to what military specifications are, or if it was that busy of a season if they had the time to do a complete check at all. R.I.P. It is sad.

  • @336kgf Let's at least hope it made owners review their maintenance practices.

  • @FraAngelico729 That is a dangerous job to begin with. No doubt they were doing more thorough checks after that happened.

  • @336kgf Let's hope so.

  • @FraAngelico729 it did - all C130s now undergo structural testing of the wing box at regular intervals once they reach a certain number of flight hours. As unfortunate as their deaths were, they at least made us aware of a problem which can be easily avoided in the future.

  • @c6gunner Unfortunately, it often takes a tragedy to underline such a need. One of my instructors back in the day told me that that most in-flight emergency procedures and maintenance regs were written in blood.

  • @ThaJew420 Suing them will not bring loved ones back.

  • made in china,,

  • @Kubawojtyczka747 Disrespectful.

  • @Kubawojtyczka747 not made in china

  • WTF!!!!! THE WINGS JUST CAME OFF!!??!?!?!?!?!?!

  • R.I.P. Killed doing the thing they loved... saving peoples lives. God bless.

  • i heard about this crash, it turns out the crew that maintains the fire fighting planes forgot to put on 6 out of 8 screws that holds on the right wing and when the plane was under stress the wing just fell off and killed 4 crew

  • @101andrewj : Um, yeah, probably not the cause, because BOTH wings came off SIMULTANEOUSLY.

  • @xREDGHOSTRIDERx no, the right wing broke off first, because it wasnt sucured... and the left wing couldnt handle the stress and broke soon after.. i seen about this on tv

  • @101andrewj: Sorry, my bad, according to the NTSB the right wing DID fold 1st. But, probably less than half a second prior to the left wing (which is evident in the video). However, the report states that it was something called a "wingbox" that failed and not because the wing wasn't "screwed on with enough screws". Most planes are put together with rivets, and this wing failure had to do with metal fatigue and cracks in critical areas. NTSB_accident_summary_for_N130HP

  • Humz sad to see these people die in such a way, and also sad at those nooby comments when no one but the crash investigators know wat really happend.

So stop these comments about "knowing wat happend" cause u dont know!

  • Talk about made in China!

  • oh my goodness, those poor men and or women may god bless their souls

  • omg

  • poor sods :-(

  • Thats what happens when you leave the rlight enveolope... structural damage and your wings fall off.

  • tanker 130 and 123 crashed that same year O.O

  • holy shit!!!!

  • Wow....I find this hard to watch but i just keep watching it...thats scary shit! D: RIP to the pilot and crew :(

  • THis is what happens when u don't maintain a 130 good. didnt replace the wingbox on them after dropping his load the suddun drop in weight was all it took goodbye wings goodbye personal RIP

  • @JrAirmen The TCTO for the wingbox inspections was a result of this incident, Lockheed didn't think they would fail at that location, and there was no guidance to inspect there.

  • @USAF1123 Holy shit, did you reference a time compliance technical order on youtube? Now I've seen it all hahahaha! ;)

  • @JrAirmen Don't maintain good? One wing breaking off would be suspect of premature failure. BOTH wings breaking off at the exact same time is a clear sign that the pilot had put too much of a wing load on this plane. I don't care how you try to spin this, it was pure pilot error, AKA fuck up, that killed the crew.

  • @damuddydog The pilot didn't fuck up - you did. You don't know what you are talking about. The older C-130 fleet does have a problem - cracks in the wing box. These develop from years of hard use - the C-130 is a true workhorse around the world. They may not carry what a C-17 or a C-5 can, but they fly into places most people wouldn't drive a jeep into. There was NOTHING in that video that was outside the parameters of what a C-130 can perform at. You owe those men an apology - and the families

  • @HerkEngineer100 Yeah right. I guess with a name like HerkEngineer100 you are the authority on all things to do with a C130. Fool. Cracks that are bad enough to have caused BOTH wings to pop off like fly wings would've surely been discovered during a phase inspection. ESPECIALLY due to the fact that there's a history of "cracks in the wing box". I've worked in the phase docks on these birds for YEARS! so I do have a clue of what I'm talking about. You're a typical switch flipper.

  • @damuddydog You make my case. If you are that knowledgeable on the subject, why such an insensitive and ignorant remark about the pilot fucking up? That would be because you're a typical dumbass. Does the fact that 2+2=4 piss you off too?

  • @HerkEngineer100 Wow. Good comeback wih the facts. Insensitive remark? The truth hurts. The fact that it hurts doesn't mean it's not true. Idiot. I bet if YOUR family was a crew member killed by someone elses fuck up you would see it for what it is. A FFFUUUUUUCCCCKKKK UUUUPPPP! 2+2=4 pissing me off? Was that supposed to be a witty comment? I don't get it. I guess I'm not as witty as your typical switch flipper.

  • @damuddydog and cracks that cause 10 ft of panel to tear off a 737 should be clearly visible from the ground, if the NTSB had thought pilot error could have caused the aircraft to break up in the manner it did, they would have said so. If you remove the center column from a building, does only one wall collapse, no, it folds in on itself. That essentially is what happened here, when the box was compromised, both wings lost their strength and were sheered off.

  • @HerkEngineer100 I saw your comment on the C-130 crash, and I also give you a thumbs up. The only thing I really know is that this was one of the first Hercs ever off of the assembly line, which means that by that time it was probably close to, what, fifty years old? I am not surprised that the particular plane lasted this long. You are right-they are DAMN tough.

  • @HerkEngineer100 thank you, my brother flies them

  • @damuddydog youre a dumbass

  • @thevidmaster101266 Oh sorry, Did I offend you with a little bit of logic? Let me make another comment to fit your world view. Here goes. The pilot hit the "Wing Disconnect" switch to more accurately place the fire retardent. but the ground shifted upwards, due to the intense heat, and smacked the plane with no warning. This accident was just that. An accident. No one is at fault. There. Happy?

  • @damuddydog READ THE FUCKING COMMENTS EVERYONE HATES YOU!!!

  • @thevidmaster101266 I am so hurt. Especially with your yelling at me and using three exclamation points. Ouch. I need a tissue.

  • @damuddydog, whether you're hurt or not, you're sarcasm won't save you from you from acting like a glue huffer.

  • @damuddydog i could agree with that as well. Both are reasonible answer to this fuck up!!!

  • @damuddydog The only problem with your argument is that the aircraft is in straight and level flight, I don't see how you can put enough wing loading onto an aircraft to make the wings fall off of the aircraft when it is in straight and level.

  • damuddydog, had it been a brand new craft it's doubtful that would have happened during that nearly steady flight, and if it did the c130 is junk. Except it's not. Also the video is chopped so it's not like anyone can really figure it out, or what forces were on the wings or what positions the controls were in. Such a stupid comment you made fart brain.

  • probably a crack on the aircraft body caused the wings to come off

  • yikes...

  • It was too cheap :b

  • @TheDyingCamels HAHAHA not funny dick

  • @TheDyingCamels fuck you 3 people died and you keep posting shitty comments

  • How did this happen?

  • "HE JUST CRASHED!"

  • Comment removed

  • God, this still makes me sick to watch, I remember watching this on the news, I saw this footage and it just made me freeze in place. It's still one of the most tragic sites I think I've ever seen.
