What a bullshit, asbest is totally not dangerous when it's in place, it's becoming dangerous when you're getting it out. So nobody will be diagnosed with anything, maybe only the workers from CDC who removed it.

There are so many buildings with asbest in the world even in your neighbourhood but as long as you don't get a saw and saw it, you're absolutely safe. I don't like the Scientology church either but you can't blame them for the asbest; they bought the ship from a swedish company years ago

The asbestos used for roofing tiles is mixed with cement and is neutral as stated.

But blue asbestos is banned just about everywhere in the world because it is very dangerous.

After 40 years being shaken about on a ship it is fragile and the dust gets everywhere, including people's lungs.

Freewinds is probably the last ship afloat in which the insulation is still provided by blue asbestos. It should be sunk in deep water.

Sir, many so called "OTs" have died of strange cancers already. Back in the mid 80s a lot of renovations were done & they sent an architect from the U.K. who'd joined the Sea Organization (Scientology's elite force who sign a 1 billion yr contract) by the name of Lawrence Woodcraft. He warned them then & in 2001 made an affidavit to the effect that the Freewinds was full of Blue Asbestos. It's been scraped off; much torn down to make courserooms, etc. & the dust traveled everywhere.

There has already been a diagnosed case but I have lost her name. She may have been English, was in charge of IAS on board Freewinds, and lived on board for months or years. Then got lung cancer and was shipped back to England to die.

When they were forced to romove it, LRH said OT8's should since they 'wouldn't be affected' by it. They went out and tore the coating off the walls and scrapped the asbestos off as it clouded the air and coated their uniforms and faces. It may be 'removed,' but it is still circulating in the air to this day.

Mesothelioma is kind of like a silent killer. I would sue Scientology's ass. There is a sworn testimony from Lawrence Woodcraft attesting to the asbestos contamination in the early 1980's. LOOK IT UP.

He told Scientology all about it, but they IGNORED it. They only were drydocked and shut down because they got CAUGHT. If they didn't get caught they would of continued cruising and putting everyone at risk, including children. I am surprised you are not outraged. I wouldn't stand for this.

You're right Ranger01, it took years for the asbestos industry to pay up for all the grief it caused, and they are still paying though many of the old miners are long dead. The trouble is the time between exposure and disease. Co$, as we well know, will pay their lawyers before admitting culpability and negligence, and hope the victims die off or give up, which is typical of their culty tactics. I think it'd take serious gov't backing to bring Co$ to justice, meanwhile people will be dying.
