  • WOW IT EEALLY IS HARD TO IMAGINE EVEN HIS OWN COUNTRY HE WAS NOT GIVEN THE CREDITS HE SO DESERVED.

  • Sadly the real music like all baden created is to deep to awsome for the average person to appreciate and sadly this world is most filled with people who find their appreiation on themself.. musicians are truly a unique and heart felt part of our cultures but this worlds majority is blind and deaf to true.. artist.. thanks Baden Powell.. you live on bro

  • Regardless, Baden Powell here was named after the British one.

  • I'd like a drag off of his cigarette. Nice song.

  • i love bossa nova...

and bande powell is my master!

    great song

  • Simplesmente : D E M A I S...

que pena que tudo passa.... e ninguém reconheceu o talento da Dulce.

Lindo momento esse que me proporcionou, amigo.

  • PERFEITO

  • Beautiful song and great duet! Baden is so incredibly relaxed while playing this. He did not even bother to put his sigarette down! It in his right hand all the time, while playing.

  • so lovely....baden is the best bossanovista!

  • how lovely... beautiful duet. can someone please tell me the name of this song?? i'd love to learn this song.

  • It's called "Aos Pés Da Santa Cruz"... (At the Foot of the Cross)... there's another good version of it on Joao Gilberto's 1994 (I think) compilation CD of his early 1958-1961 recordings.

  • great! thanks so much ;) i'd love to hear joao's version as well. thank you!

  • "Aos Pés Da Santa Cruz" is a song composed by Marino Pinto and Zé da Zilda. First recording done by Orlando Silva, in 1941.

  • Thank you so much :))

  • poema on guitar --

i dont understand why he he didnt have success in his home-country BraziL

when he died already in 2000 the world lost one of its best guitarists

    what a pity....

...he ll stay in our minds

  • yes. baden is underrated bossanovista. i think some of his works are too artistic. so he had less popularity than other bossanovista.

  • @tpsy76 Baden were not really a bossanovista. He passed through bossa nova, he participated of it, that is all. He came from the brazilan guitar tradition. His school were the choros, waltz, sambas, serenades. etc. without forget the influence of the jazz and classical music (specially Bach and romantic composers). In fact, I think his work was bigger than the bossa nova movement. But sadly, as you said, he don't have the popularity he deserve. Even in Brazil, he is a unknown to the people.

  • jolie bossa! arigatou.

  • Man, this brought tears to my eyes. I loved it. Without doubt, Baden Powell was one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. This already classic song is even more of a gem in his hands, a true beauty. Bravo!

  • Vídeo Maravilhoso!

    Dulce Nunes & Baden !!!!

  • The Brazil don't know the Brazil. Great Badeco. What a musician! But now many brazilians prefer to hear the "Funk Carioca" like "Dança do Créu". What a shame! We were happy, but we didn't know that.

  • Baden Powell, for me, is the best Brazilian guitarist / composer of all time. His music is so diverse - everything from percussion-rich Afro sambas to delicate, dissonant solos. And what a great voice. Amazing!

  • AHHAH! with the cigarette in his hand!! this was amazing.

  • Beautiful duet.. and in the time of their youth. ♫♪ ♫♪

  • I'm simply speechless, Thank you very much for sharing this video. Baden for me really, belong to first row's best guitarist that I know when it comes to bossa, with due respect to Gilberto and Toquinho.

  • there is no pb with saying that baden was one of the best... ;) Even Toquinho says that Baden was the best "guitar player of all brasilian history" ...

  • Where did you quote that statement, I kinda would like read more of it. I love plying guitar duets and harmony as Toquinho played his Samba Pra Vinicius with Miucha and so with other versions

  • Toquinho said that during a concert. I think it was for his 40 years of career. He invited Badi Assad. I didn't find the extract on utube.

Toquinho says that, but himself he is VERY gifted. I agree with you that his duets with Vinicius and guitar only, are maybe the most wonderful versions of many sambas, for example "tristeza" by haroldo and even maybe some of Baden's afro sambas... Above all, he is also such a brilliant composer ...

  • that's really a great video. Thanks for posting!

  • my inspiration TO

  • Baden is the best version:-) Seriously the beauty of this music is to hear different interpretations that's why this music has lasted so long and will be around for a very ling time. Baden is my inspiration.

  • salve! baden powell, nosso mestre!!

  • Hi, there, friends. This is a great Brazilian song written by Marino Pinto and Zé da Zilda. It´s called "Aos pés da cruz" (something like "at the foot of the cross"). You must listen to João Gilberto´s version. Go http://radio.musica.uol.com.br/ and type "Aos pés da cruz". João Gilberto has recorded it two times. The best version is presented by the album "João Gilberto in Tokyo". Enjoy it.
