From what I have read of the era, it wasn't just the catholic church but many governments used torture pretty regularly.
No excuse to any of those who used such means but… The terrible means of torture preceded Christianity, crucifixion and scourging certainly did. terrible tortures were used by other cultures separated from European culture of that era. So, its not surprising that the Inquisition used what was available.
In all this game, the devil is losing and at the end will be accused of everything because GOD don’t want any rivals. Conclusion: live at the full in the freedom of GOD (praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible - keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.) instead of in the incapacity and limited power of devil because he is just a temporary puppet. Jesus Christ is our savior and our hope!
the inquisition, what a show! singing and dancing monks. no one escapes the Spanish inquisition. from mel brooks history of the world part 1. awesome movie.
Oh yeah, I heard so many defenders saying the Catholic school is great ,isn't it Satan can appear as angel of light?Test the Doctrine of the R.Catholic if all adhere to pure Biblical teachings. If not ,get out of that church and search for truth .Don't just follow all that spoon feed by the church without cross referencing to Bible and ask the Spirit of God Almighty with your heart to lead you to the true Gospel and power of Christ .
I was RCatholic b4 thnk God He led me 2 know the truth. This RC religion is a false 1.Some people do argue & defend RC but hey if a religion is following God's doctrine of LOVE & forgiveness ,why did it led to the Inquisition witch hunt ,torture &killing heretics, bible believing christns etc. Rn't they just variation of the JIHAD? Google it ,d Vatican is now strong advocate of NWO ,1 world government,1world religion .Its a warning INQUISTION might repeat itself- see TRIBULATIONS !
very interesting. You can see how these inquisitors were following the true teachings of Jesus Christ. Better to rip out your eye (or have it ripped out) than allow it to cause sin.
Lots of people point out the Inquisition while failing to understand torture was common during the medieval period, its partly why it was called the Dark Ages. True, the Church were hypocrites during this time, however their hypocrisy is what makes the story interesting, not the novelty of their acts. I would like to point out that the Church was dark and twisted because it was the most powerful institution of the dark ages, and was corrupted by those seeking to twist its power for themselves.
Haha, what a lot of nonsense. All lies. Talk of a medieval historian. They will tell you that everything you've been taught about the Inquisition and "medieval torture" in general is a modern myth. BTW, not a single witch was ever processed by the inquisition.
god never asked anyone to believe in him, religion is someones CHOICE. why would anyone care if they didn't believe in the same religion as them. and to still think some society's are corrupt due to religion....
@canuckleful Just so you know, everything this video presents is ahistorical nonsense. Nothing like this ever happened in the Inquisition. The Inquisition was so fair and the prisons so comfortable that secular criminals would often feign heresy to get into them. It helps to know a little history before you assume all the movies represent anything but imagination.
@chesster423 yeah i do hope we never have to go to hell but the worlds taking a wierd twist right now hope my lord jesus guides me in the right direction.
@menaceh2o he did not save people in the past why would he do it in the future.I am an agnostic who believes God may or may not exist yet if the bible is true; he did give us our own free will so according to this it is man who is doing this to man.
Igreja maldita, desgracada, infernal, o berco do inferno e o trono do capeta! Queimem esses padres desgracados e torrem essas pessoas que a ela segue.
WELL,,,PROTESTANTS KILLED MILLIONS OF INDIANS TO SETTLE IN GRINGOLAND!!! STOLE THEIRS LAND....KILL.....MAN....GRINGOLAND YHE FIRST COUNTRY MADE BY PROTESTANTS....LATTER,,,,SLAVERY.......DOES THAT NOT ACCOUNT???????/
@gingerlycolors Let's get real, the Muslim religion is just as brutal, and unfortunately for innocent victims still being tortured and stoned to death in the Middle East, they did not have any reformations or enlightenments like Europe did, to change from savage thinking to more civilized thinking, they are still stuck in medieval thinking, not all, but millions are! All men have black souls, and without the true love of Christ are capable of savagery. No race is immune to this!
@MetalFluffyNinja1 - Yes, it does. Catholicism is a religion, Islam is a religion, Jehovah Witness is a religion, Mormonism is a religon, Buddhism is a religion.....Christianity is not.
Show me one single verse that proves that Jesus Christs ever condoned this type of torture! You will not find it.
@leesoarez - No, Catholicism is a denomination in the realm Christianity. In other words, it a "brand" that men have placed their spin on. Catholicism is a type of Christian spin-off that men started in the name of a particular set of unbiblical beliefs.
Eph 4:4-6 "For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all."
@RealCrusadeHistory This is a complete lie.The 1st Christian church was the Greek orthodox and the new testament of the bible was originally written in Greek not Latin.2nd Jesus did not create the Catholic church which in fact was founded by emperor Constantine.3rd Peter was not the 1st pope but 1 of Jesus’ messengers who historians even doubt ever made his way to Rome.
@truvianni You're absolutely wrong. Until the schism of the 11th Century A.D. the Eastern Church was a part of the Catholic Church, subject to Rome. There is no question that Peter was the first pope. You're deluded and ill informed.
@RealCrusadeHistory I am wrong?about what? The new testament was originally written in Greek not Latin. As for Peter's being the first Pope there is no question to anybody who has ever read a history book that he was not since no where in the bible is such a statement made. Of course with a mentality that supports such things as the Inquisition I would not expect you to know anything beyond the lies of your church.
"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT IN ANY SENSE FOUNDED ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION." (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
i agree this may be propaganda however it is still the truth and why should the truth be denied ?? by denying it you are simply giving into the denials of the catholic church , which still remain to this day . Still the pope will not apologise for the atrocities commited against those of their own faith despite acknowleding that these modern day ' tortures ' were rife .
@jettrink60 that may be what you are saying and Luther also killed people who would not follow his ideas yet that does not make what is being shown here a lie.
@Axxess7777 perhaps it is you who is being a pawn of the Catholic church?Of course the Catholic church no longer does this kind of thing but that is not because their desire to do so has gone away but they simply do not have the power to do it anymore. This being the reason why at present they only have pedophile priests who they also try to protect.
@MartyJSwizzle please understand that the Catholic Church canonized the Bible and is the only church with an unbroken succession which can be traced back to the apostles. I converted to Catholicism last year. Please see the conversion stories of Dr.Peter Kreeft and Dr. Scot Hahn, former anti-Catholic Protestants, now they're Catholic.
@megaead69 - My friend, there will absolutely be no Catholics in heaven. Neither will there be Lutheran's, Jehovah's Witnesses, Baptists or Seventh Day Adventists; there will only be believers who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Organized religion is a cancer in the body of Christ and it must be severed. Religion Kills, Jesus saves.
@megaead69 - Christianity is not a religion; it is founded upon having a personal relationship with Christ by believing in Him and placing your faith and trust in Him alone. It is not founded upon following the Law of Moses or by obeying this rule and that regulation for the sake of pleasing a church, clergyman or organized religious institution. The Roman Catholic Church is a religion, Lutheran and Baptist are a denominational religious group; the Pharisees in Jesus' day were religious.
@MartyJSwizzle In Matt 5:17, Jesus said he did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it. What does the Bible say is the pillar and ground of truth? 1 Tim 3:15..
It is a historical fact, that the Catholic Church canonized the Bible. They decided which books were inspired and which were not. I would suggest that you look into this a little deeper before you make such generalized statements.
@megaead69 - You do not have a channel here so here goes:
In Matt 5:17 Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, right? How does He fulfill the Law? Romans 13:10 – “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.” Gal 5:14 – “For ALL the law is FULFILLED in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” James 2:8 – “If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
@megaead69 - Did Jesus fulfill the Law? Rom 5:8 – “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Rom 10:4 - For Christ has ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. Rom 1:17 - This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish BY FAITH. ”
@megaead69 - U see? Jesus already fulfilled the Law. We also fulfill the Law when we love our neighbors. No, the Law has not been abolished. However, we are no longer under the Law nor are we obligated to follow it. In fact, we are under God’s grace and we are made righteous “apart from the Law.” 1 Cor 9:21 – “When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live APART FROM THAT LAW so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.”
@megaead69 - What is the law of Christ? Galatians 6:2 – “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Love and compassion is the Law of Christ, it is not a church. Yes, the Catholic Church canonized the bible. However, God used the Catholics to get His work done just as God used pagan nations to do His bidding in the Old Testament against Israel. God is in charge, not the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is a puppet, nothing more.
@megaead69 - I suggest that your allegiance be to Scriptures and to Christ, not what the pope says or what a religious organization says is truth. The pillar and foundation of the truth is the church of the living God. However, “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body (Eph 5:23).” The Church of Christ is not a building or a religious organization. The Church is a group of believers who have a personal relationship with Christ.
@megaead69 - Jesus did not say that the Catholic Church is the foundation of the Church.
See Matt 16:13-20. It is not a pope who has power but the church, the real church made up of believers who know who Jesus is on a personal level. By the way, I went to your history on youtube and this is what I found: “Obama Girl Encourages Entrepreneurs ”i jacked off to this and came on the keyboard : (“ posted 2 years ago by megaead69.”
@MartyJSwizzle Wow, you're a real class act, my friend. That was close to 3 years ago, and I wasn't really much of a believer back then, that was shortly before I became atheist, which thank God lasted less than a year to come out of. How about you address my last comment, and we'll take it from there, pal.
@megaead69 - Fair enough, everyone can change; consider it forgotten. However, I addressed your last comment. I sent 5 messages about it, see all the comments.
@megaead69 - Fair enough, everyone can change; consider it forgotten. However, I addressed your last comment. I sent 5 messages about it, see all the comments.
@MartyJSwizzle didn't Jesus say anything about following his apostles? Did he ever say he was god? Did he ever say anything about condemning gays - and yet Christians claim he is god, condemn gays and some believe one church or another should be followed.
@blueray1969 - No, Jesus said to follow Him (Mk 8:34). The purpose of apostles were to help set up the foundation of the church. Christ is the bedrock, the apostles and prophets are the foundation, Christ is the cornerstone (Eph 2:20). Yes, Jesus did claim to be God (John 14:9). Jesus didn't need to talk about gays because we are all sinners, regardless of sexual preferences (Rom 3:23). Christians need to condemn no one, worry about themselves and tend to the church (the body of believers).
@MartyJSwizzle true but if you really look at the "Holy" Inquisition it was not about saving souls but about taking the wealth and land of people for the church so basically it was about the church's desire to make money and nothing else. Btw it is even a sin to call it holy because the bible says the word holy should only be used for God and nothing or no one else.
@megaead69 - I side-stepped your comment because it's irrelevant. It doesn't matter how many people converted to Catholicism; it's a religious institution that does not honor Christ. The Catholic Church makes it's own rules, it's own brand morality and negates the authority of Christ and the Holy Spirit but instead overrides with decisions made by a man called a pope. The bible says that we are accountable to no man but to God alone. Jesus saved me, not the church, not Virgin Mary or the pope.
@megaead69 actually what you are saying is a common falsehood. The first Christian church was the Greek Orthodox church and not the Roman Cathelic. The first version of the New Testament as a matter of fact was written in Greek not Latin.
Your videos are absolutley blowing me away!!!!! I cannot believe the lengths that Christians will go to kill eachother!!! This is one of many examples that people of a different religion have suffered. It is just dispicable of what they are capable of. Can anyone think of a name that refers to what happend to the Native Americans in the United States? And the way they make Thanksgiving a Federal Holiday!!!!! It makes me sick!!!
Billions of people have been led into Hellfire by the Roman Catholic Church. Oh the misery of false religion! Ironically, the Catholic Church professes to believe the Bible, which makes it easy to EXPOSE them, because most of their traditions are CONTRADICTORY to the plainest doctrines of God's Word.
@KC101X I would say you pwned the "princeof pot" lol. There's so many like him who think they're clever by merely spouting the false "logic" they hear on YT.
@KC101X Christianity aided in the construction of the western and to some degree european cultures but did not shape the human race by any means. Humans were around long before christianity and were subsequently shaped by other influeces. Romans were influeced by their gods for instance. (where is zues in our society now?) Thats an easy out huh, just ignore the logic and only spout your religious nonsense. Try having a real debate for once and not just bitching and then running off to hide.
@KC101X Sry, didn't see your grammar police badge...its the internet fool, don't use a strawman to distract from the true meaning of my message. Christianity, and all religions can be considered ideologies depending on your stance in regards to religion. How about the crusades? Or the witch hunts? Or the inquisition? All subjected innocent people to torture and death in an attempt to spread their beliefs, just like the islamic extremists of today.
@KC101X Also, your fifth statement is just stupid. You accuse me of not providing evidence when all you did there is follow the same path you accused me of. Your sixth point makes no sense as well. I do not believe in anything spiritual because there is no evidence to support it however evil is found all over the world. Not sure what you were trying to prove here.
@KC101X Christianity did partake in many tortures and massacres of the innocent in order to push their rediculous ideology. Much like the islamic extremists of today who are trying to overthrow all that opposes their beliefs and views. All religions are destructive and intrinsically evil.
@Princeofpot420 Christianity did partake in many tortures and massacres of the innocent. The Roman Catholic Church has done yes. You need to know your history here. Islam and the Roman Catholic Church are very similar "Religions". What you see in this video is simple! Genuine Christianity being persecuted as real Christians would wide have been from the start as Jesus told us we would be.
@MrGrafted How can you say this when there is so much evidence to the contrary? Witch hunts were orchistrated by the christian clergy, spanish inquisition saw thousands of innocent people brutally tortured and killed under false pretenses and the crusades were a blatent attempt by the catholic church to basically take religious control over the entire known world. You are so ignorant of your religious history it is scary.
Look - I see you are someone who is Godless and thinks there free. I can see you really don't know what your talking about here. You have no real insight other than what you read or touch or see.. Hopeless.
@MrGrafted I have no real insight? If it were up to people like you gravity would still be a mystery. If not for science and reason, religion would still have people believing that prayer can cure diseases and fix broken bones. Give me a fucking break. I remain open minded so long as there is evidence to back up a claim. You have no evidence and thus I can denounce your claims without any real effort. You are the one who is hopeless and dellusional.
@Princeofpot420 "If it were up to people like you gravity would still be a mystery"
Oh! DO regale us with your "scientific explanation" of the physics of gravitational attraction! Your attempt to do so is guaranteed to be lulzy.....LOL
@TheAmazingMegster Impossible to do in under 500 characters but if you wish I can send you an entire paper on the gravitational attraction. How about this, you provide me with a scientifically approved paper on the origins and plausibility of Adam and Eve and I will provide you a paper concerning any scientific theory that might actually educate you in something other than fairy tales.
P.S. Using lulzy followed by lol...really?? Just brutal
@Princeofpot420 Since you're a "newfag", you're probably not aware that the dull comment you spewed is devoid of any original content. Seriously, every single word has already been overused. You also felt the need to berate my use of YT lingo, and then used "brutal". That's just br00tal, d00d..
@Princeofpot420 Actually chavs, you can keep your "paper" on GA, since it doesn't carry any "weight" anyway. Scientifically approved paper indeed! The only thing you'll be "educating" anyone on is pot growing techniques and related paraphernalia. Your pedestrian attempt to sound "academic", as well as your snobbish berating my use of "lulzy" or "lol" is quite revealing about you. "Lol" is commonly known as "laughing out loud" to most people on YT, who are doing that regarding you right now.
All the garbage One True Church promoters, promoters of Mary, promoters of Purgatory won't come here and comment. They support an evil system that used torture to shut people up. Unfortunately history repeats itself unless people know that truth and force those who trust in the RCC to face the truth. In our generation it is the molestation of children. But the RCC has people brainwashed that you go to hell if you don't go to their church, even their children's safety isn't important.
it was the SAME Catholic Church as today, "olde fashion values" when church bestowed it's cleansing blessings upon the masses of the faithful, amen ...remember, the church KNOWS what's good for you!
It is a false religion. Don't let this image of what used to happen sway one from the message of God. It is not God who did this, but the people in charge who were so obsessed with their power, that they resorted to this and other atrocities.
Has the Catholic Church apologized for the Inquisition? Just wondering...
@docmark72 Nope, in fact, it's alive and active today under the title Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The venerable Pope Benny the Rat is the Grand Inquisitor himself. A pedo protector and unapologetic promoter of an ancient regime of terror. He is an antichrist through and through.
@Sumper72 Umm actually satan is a fictional charachter, much like god, made up by humans in order to abdicate our responsibilities to our fellow human beings. Christianity, Judaism, Islam...all religions are destructive and detremental to the progression of human society.
@Sumper72 That dosen't make any sense. This IS Christianity, idiot. Christians torture and murder people. You don't know anything about Satanism. Christians are the real villains.
@themadhatter34 You are quite incorrect. This is not what religion is all about. This is an enactment, and not raw news footage. The same thing can be done for atheists to show them in a bad light.
@TheAmazingMegster "The same thing can be done for atheists to show them in a bad light." Bullshit. No atheist has done things like this BECAUSE of Atheism. Atheism isn't a belief system. However, when it comes to the content of this video, these horrible deeds were done for the sake of religious dogmatism. People like Stalin, for example, although they were atheist, did what they did for 'reasons' that have nothing to do atheism itself.
@pillsareyummy No bullshit, sparky. How would YOU know that no atheist has done things like this because of atheism? Besides, that wasn't even my point. Yes, I know that to YOU it's not a belief system, since you undoubtedly are certain of the veracity of your claims. But in fact, you BELIEVE that you're right, without any proof, so from an objective standpoint, it's still a belief. Have you personally witnessed this activity performed by Christians? I'm putting all my chips on "no".
@TheAmazingMegster There are no historical accounts of atheists doing the deeds they did because of atheism. If I'm wrong, then provide an example to the contrary. Again, the term Atheist just means a disbelief in God, if one uses reasons for why they disbelieve, that isn't atheism; it's reason. Things like the Inquisitions, Witch trials, etc, were based on religious dogma.
@pillsareyummy Of course there wouldn't be, since there's no way to determine motive without actually being there and questioning. I know what atheist means, thank-you, but there are many flavors of it, just like with Christianity. Of course, no atheist will ever admit this, since they all say there's only one kind. It used to be, if one didn't believe in God, they simply didn't go to church. Now, we see on YT an "evangelical" zealousness among newbie heathens.
@TheAmazingMegster One can determine motive by examining the evidence related to a given situation. Since atheism just means a disbelief in God, what motives could it instill? If someone does something, they do so for reasons, atheism isn't a reason. For example, if someone (an atheist) hates religion, that's based on reasons, like religious dogmatism effecting public policy for example. What does atheism have to do with heathenism?
@pillsareyummy And how do you propose to go about examining the evidence? I'm talking about motive in a mind long gone. Will you hold a séance? And I never said that atheism is the motive for anything, aside from just being plain annoying and bad mouthing people's spiritual beliefs. I have noticed a shocking lack of values and morality, as well as common sense, in the new crop of young disbelievers, however.
That's a question perhaps better posed to those who embrace heathenism and atheism simultaneously. And why would anyone hate religion today? Since most are atheists are full of hate, wouldn't it make more sense to direct that hate toward it's real cause?
"Things like the Inquisitions, Witch trials, etc, were based on religious dogma"
A popular misconception. That was the motive GIVEN, but not the true motive for those wicked acts. I should know. You still haven't provided any examples of this activity today.
@TheAmazingMegster you just contradicted your previous statement. By saying that "I should know" you are saying that you understand the mindset of an age far removed from your own. Yet previously in your debate with pillsareyummy you stated that "And how do you propose to go about examining the evidence? I'm talking about motive in a mind long gone."
You should really get your shit together or u just end up looking like an idiot...shit too late!
@Princeofpot420 - It's laughingly obvious that the delicious flavour of my comments have whooshed over your head like a flock of geese. Should I be concerned about the opinion of the "prince of pot"? I just took a poll, and the response was overwhelmingly "no". I guess your lulzy opinion has floated off into space, due to it's extremely light weight. ^_^
@TheAmazingMegster Ah, now u are diliberalty avoiding a response to the contradiction claim. It's ok. I've seen this tactic before from fundies and general uneducated tools. Where was this poll located? I would love to see the results. What does this term lulzy even mean? Please use proper english terms or people will get the impression that you are just a rambling idiot.
@Princeofpot420 Actually sparky, the impression people are getting is that you are quite possibly the only fool on YT who doesn't know what lulzy means. You're comment revealed your cluelessness and tagged you as a blithering idiot and dunderhead.
@TheAmazingMegster Is being bald considered a hair color? Is not collecting stamps a hobby? Same can be said for not believing in a dogma that has been shoved down humanities throat for far too long.
@TheAmazingMegster What dogma would that be? And I am not sure what color has to do with anything. Being color blind, I don't really have a favorite color so I'm not sure where u get this inference from.
@Princeofpot420 In addition to being color blind, you're also conceptually blind. I see you're not sure of many things, including your sexual preference. You seem less intelligent than I originally thought, which will require a disappointing lowering of expectations.
@Princeofpot420 I had you pegged from the first moment, and had you totally figured out by your second comment. You're what's called a POSER. Now, I realize you're going to be struggling with all these new words, so you may need a dictionary close at hand..
@TheAmazingMegster Nah, has to be a vague one prior. A post prediction isn't valid. For instance, if i said muffins were to be baked three hours ago, this statement would be a moot subjection of pre-notion verified by my previous knowledge regarding the bakery. If i stated muffins shall be baked in three hours, a singular minute lapse in time could cast my prophecy into history with the irrelevance in regards to exact time. I didn't need a dictionary, every error was purposely projected MIS MUFF
@pillsareyummy Another point that needs to be made is that we are now seeing a record number of "professional atheists" who, rather than simply go about their daily business without believing in God, feel the need to inflict their emotional and dogmatic beliefs on everyone, and denigrate and slander decent Christians at every turn. They're just like the fundie Christians, and are no less obnoxious.
As far as 'professional atheists' are concerned, they don't inflict anything, they are just having a 'discussion'. That's different from religious people claiming that they know what Gods is and wants. Since it's the claims of knowing what God wants that effects peoples behaviour. It's the religious that make claims, such as Stem Cell research is wrong, homosexuality is wrong, premarital sex is wrong, etc. Religious dogma effects social behaviour, and that's what those like Dawkins refute.
@pillsareyummy You're still missing the point. What are Christians inflicting on anyone today? Also, how can you be sure that someone is a Christian? Because they say so? I will say to you point-blank, that not all who call themselves Catholic or Christian, are. This is true of any religion, actually. A large percentage are merely posers. Foe example, why would someone call himself an atheist and at the same time call himself a satanist? This is quite common on YT.
@TheAmazingMegster The term atheism means what it does, if others choose to hijack the term, that's their error. Perhaps they should consult a dictionary? I'll agree that many Christians and Catholics (I used to be Catholic) are 'posers'. They might go to church, and sing their 'holly hollies', however, they don't adhere to many of the teachings of Christ for example (which had many good things to say I might add).
@pillsareyummy Well, who is the highest authority on the true definition of atheism? If liberals and gays can hijack the definition of marriage, as well as the rainbow, and even the word "gay", isn't it fair that the definition of atheism should be hijacked to mean whatever is convenient to the hijacker? Atheists would soon be quarreling and finger-pointing over which definition is acceptable. Actually, I've already seen that happening, as ridiculous as that sounds.
@TheAmazingMegster " You're still missing the point. What are Christians inflicting on anyone today?" Well, to name a few, banning of stem cell research by the Bush administration (Obama is changing that) based on religious dogmatism. Continued persecution of Homosexuals, and of course spreading lies concerning Condoms, that resulted in Aids spreading throughout Africa. I'll end it there...
@pillsareyummy How is the Bush administration representative of Christians? So, by your reasoning, invading Iraq was motivated by the Bible? "Jesus made do it".
@TheAmazingMegster The Bush administration banned Stem cell research because of Christian dogma related to the Soul. Dogma doesn't have any influence unless those with power adhere to it. Linking my comment to the Iraq war is bordering on quote mining. However, Bush DID say that he was doing 'God's will'. That statement carried weight with certain christian voters.
that's disgusting

Lots of people point out the Inquisition while failing to understand torture was common during the medieval period, its partly why it was called the Dark Ages. True, the Church were hypocrites during this time, however their hypocrisy is what makes the story interesting, not the novelty of their acts. I would like to point out that the Church was dark and twisted because it was the most powerful institution of the dark ages, and was corrupted by those seeking to twist its power for themselves.

@megaead69 - The Catholic Church is an abomination unto Christ.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@MartyJSwizzle please understand that the Catholic Church canonized the Bible and is the only church with an unbroken succession which can be traced back to the apostles. I converted to Catholicism last year. Please see the conversion stories of Dr.Peter Kreeft and Dr. Scot Hahn, former anti-Catholic Protestants, now they're Catholic.
megaead69 6 months ago
@megaead69 - My friend, there will absolutely be no Catholics in heaven. Neither will there be Lutheran's, Jehovah's Witnesses, Baptists or Seventh Day Adventists; there will only be believers who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Organized religion is a cancer in the body of Christ and it must be severed. Religion Kills, Jesus saves.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@MartyJSwizzle Wow, Christianity is a religion, so please stop with that "folksy" talk. I love how you totally sidestepped addressing my comment.
megaead69 6 months ago
@megaead69 - Christianity is not a religion; it is founded upon having a personal relationship with Christ by believing in Him and placing your faith and trust in Him alone. It is not founded upon following the Law of Moses or by obeying this rule and that regulation for the sake of pleasing a church, clergyman or organized religious institution. The Roman Catholic Church is a religion, Lutheran and Baptist are a denominational religious group; the Pharisees in Jesus' day were religious.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@MartyJSwizzle In Matt 5:17, Jesus said he did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it. What does the Bible say is the pillar and ground of truth? 1 Tim 3:15..
It is a historical fact, that the Catholic Church canonized the Bible. They decided which books were inspired and which were not. I would suggest that you look into this a little deeper before you make such generalized statements.
megaead69 6 months ago
@megaead69 - I'm going to send you a private message.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - You do not have a channel here so here goes:
In Matt 5:17 Jesus said he came to fulfill the law, right? How does He fulfill the Law? Romans 13:10 – “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.” Gal 5:14 – “For ALL the law is FULFILLED in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” James 2:8 – “If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - Did Jesus fulfill the Law? Rom 5:8 – “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Rom 10:4 - For Christ has ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. Rom 1:17 - This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish BY FAITH. ”
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - U see? Jesus already fulfilled the Law. We also fulfill the Law when we love our neighbors. No, the Law has not been abolished. However, we are no longer under the Law nor are we obligated to follow it. In fact, we are under God’s grace and we are made righteous “apart from the Law.” 1 Cor 9:21 – “When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live APART FROM THAT LAW so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I obey the law of Christ.”
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - What is the law of Christ? Galatians 6:2 – “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Love and compassion is the Law of Christ, it is not a church. Yes, the Catholic Church canonized the bible. However, God used the Catholics to get His work done just as God used pagan nations to do His bidding in the Old Testament against Israel. God is in charge, not the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is a puppet, nothing more.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - I suggest that your allegiance be to Scriptures and to Christ, not what the pope says or what a religious organization says is truth. The pillar and foundation of the truth is the church of the living God. However, “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body (Eph 5:23).” The Church of Christ is not a building or a religious organization. The Church is a group of believers who have a personal relationship with Christ.
MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago
@megaead69 - Jesus did not say that the Catholic Church is the foundation of the Church.
See Matt 16:13-20. It is not a pope who has power but the church, the real church made up of believers who know who Jesus is on a personal level. By the way, I went to your history on youtube and this is what I found: “Obama Girl Encourages Entrepreneurs ”i jacked off to this and came on the keyboard : (“ posted 2 years ago by megaead69.”

@MartyJSwizzle didn't Jesus say anything about following his apostles? Did he ever say he was god? Did he ever say anything about condemning gays - and yet Christians claim he is god, condemn gays and some believe one church or another should be followed.
blueray1969 5 months ago
@blueray1969 - No, Jesus said to follow Him (Mk 8:34). The purpose of apostles were to help set up the foundation of the church. Christ is the bedrock, the apostles and prophets are the foundation, Christ is the cornerstone (Eph 2:20). Yes, Jesus did claim to be God (John 14:9). Jesus didn't need to talk about gays because we are all sinners, regardless of sexual preferences (Rom 3:23). Christians need to condemn no one, worry about themselves and tend to the church (the body of believers).
MartyJSwizzle 5 months ago

MartyJSwizzle 6 months ago

Thats an easy out huh, just ignore the logic and only spout your religious nonsense. Try having a real debate for once and not just bitching and then running off to hide.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@KC101X Sry, didn't see your grammar police badge...its the internet fool, don't use a strawman to distract from the true meaning of my message. Christianity, and all religions can be considered ideologies depending on your stance in regards to religion. How about the crusades? Or the witch hunts? Or the inquisition? All subjected innocent people to torture and death in an attempt to spread their beliefs, just like the islamic extremists of today.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@KC101X Also, your fifth statement is just stupid. You accuse me of not providing evidence when all you did there is follow the same path you accused me of. Your sixth point makes no sense as well. I do not believe in anything spiritual because there is no evidence to support it however evil is found all over the world. Not sure what you were trying to prove here.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@KC101X Christianity did partake in many tortures and massacres of the innocent in order to push their rediculous ideology. Much like the islamic extremists of today who are trying to overthrow all that opposes their beliefs and views. All religions are destructive and intrinsically evil.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@Princeofpot420 Christianity did partake in many tortures and massacres of the innocent. The Roman Catholic Church has done yes. You need to know your history here. Islam and the Roman Catholic Church are very similar "Religions". What you see in this video is simple! Genuine Christianity being persecuted as real Christians would wide have been from the start as Jesus told us we would be.

TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster "The same thing can be done for atheists to show them in a bad light." Bullshit. No atheist has done things like this BECAUSE of Atheism. Atheism isn't a belief system. However, when it comes to the content of this video, these horrible deeds were done for the sake of religious dogmatism. People like Stalin, for example, although they were atheist, did what they did for 'reasons' that have nothing to do atheism itself.
pillsareyummy 1 year ago
@pillsareyummy No bullshit, sparky. How would YOU know that no atheist has done things like this because of atheism? Besides, that wasn't even my point. Yes, I know that to YOU it's not a belief system, since you undoubtedly are certain of the veracity of your claims. But in fact, you BELIEVE that you're right, without any proof, so from an objective standpoint, it's still a belief. Have you personally witnessed this activity performed by Christians? I'm putting all my chips on "no".
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster There are no historical accounts of atheists doing the deeds they did because of atheism. If I'm wrong, then provide an example to the contrary. Again, the term Atheist just means a disbelief in God, if one uses reasons for why they disbelieve, that isn't atheism; it's reason. Things like the Inquisitions, Witch trials, etc, were based on religious dogma.
pillsareyummy 1 year ago

What does atheism have to do with heathenism?
pillsareyummy 1 year ago
@pillsareyummy And how do you propose to go about examining the evidence? I'm talking about motive in a mind long gone. Will you hold a séance? And I never said that atheism is the motive for anything, aside from just being plain annoying and bad mouthing people's spiritual beliefs. I have noticed a shocking lack of values and morality, as well as common sense, in the new crop of young disbelievers, however.

"What does atheism have to do with heathenism?"
That's a question perhaps better posed to those who embrace heathenism and atheism simultaneously. And why would anyone hate religion today? Since most are atheists are full of hate, wouldn't it make more sense to direct that hate toward it's real cause?

@pillsareyummy
"Things like the Inquisitions, Witch trials, etc, were based on religious dogma"
A popular misconception. That was the motive GIVEN, but not the true motive for those wicked acts. I should know. You still haven't provided any examples of this activity today.
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago

TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster Ah, now u are diliberalty avoiding a response to the contradiction claim. It's ok. I've seen this tactic before from fundies and general uneducated tools. Where was this poll located? I would love to see the results. What does this term lulzy even mean? Please use proper english terms or people will get the impression that you are just a rambling idiot.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@Princeofpot420 Actually sparky, the impression people are getting is that you are quite possibly the only fool on YT who doesn't know what lulzy means. You're comment revealed your cluelessness and tagged you as a blithering idiot and dunderhead.

@TheAmazingMegster Is being bald considered a hair color? Is not collecting stamps a hobby? Same can be said for not believing in a dogma that has been shoved down humanities throat for far too long.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@Princeofpot420 I think I can easily guess what "dogma" has been shoved down YOUR throat. Is pink your favourite colour?
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster What dogma would that be? And I am not sure what color has to do with anything. Being color blind, I don't really have a favorite color so I'm not sure where u get this inference from.
Princeofpot420 1 year ago
@Princeofpot420 In addition to being color blind, you're also conceptually blind. I see you're not sure of many things, including your sexual preference. You seem less intelligent than I originally thought, which will require a disappointing lowering of expectations.

@Princeofpot420 I had you pegged from the first moment, and had you totally figured out by your second comment. You're what's called a POSER. Now, I realize you're going to be struggling with all these new words, so you may need a dictionary close at hand..
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@Princeofpot420 I made a small prediction about you, which I will reveal after it happens.
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster Nah, has to be a vague one prior. A post prediction isn't valid. For instance, if i said muffins were to be baked three hours ago, this statement would be a moot subjection of pre-notion verified by my previous knowledge regarding the bakery. If i stated muffins shall be baked in three hours, a singular minute lapse in time could cast my prophecy into history with the irrelevance in regards to exact time. I didn't need a dictionary, every error was purposely projected MIS MUFF

@Princeofpot420 By the way, since we're sharing word definitions, what does "Dellusion" mean? I enjoy watching you backpedal and fail.

TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
As far as 'professional atheists' are concerned, they don't inflict anything, they are just having a 'discussion'. That's different from religious people claiming that they know what Gods is and wants. Since it's the claims of knowing what God wants that effects peoples behaviour. It's the religious that make claims, such as Stem Cell research is wrong, homosexuality is wrong, premarital sex is wrong, etc. Religious dogma effects social behaviour, and that's what those like Dawkins refute.
pillsareyummy 1 year ago
@pillsareyummy You're still missing the point. What are Christians inflicting on anyone today? Also, how can you be sure that someone is a Christian? Because they say so? I will say to you point-blank, that not all who call themselves Catholic or Christian, are. This is true of any religion, actually. A large percentage are merely posers. Foe example, why would someone call himself an atheist and at the same time call himself a satanist? This is quite common on YT.
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster The term atheism means what it does, if others choose to hijack the term, that's their error. Perhaps they should consult a dictionary? I'll agree that many Christians and Catholics (I used to be Catholic) are 'posers'. They might go to church, and sing their 'holly hollies', however, they don't adhere to many of the teachings of Christ for example (which had many good things to say I might add).
pillsareyummy 1 year ago
@pillsareyummy Well, who is the highest authority on the true definition of atheism? If liberals and gays can hijack the definition of marriage, as well as the rainbow, and even the word "gay", isn't it fair that the definition of atheism should be hijacked to mean whatever is convenient to the hijacker? Atheists would soon be quarreling and finger-pointing over which definition is acceptable. Actually, I've already seen that happening, as ridiculous as that sounds.
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster " You're still missing the point. What are Christians inflicting on anyone today?" Well, to name a few, banning of stem cell research by the Bush administration (Obama is changing that) based on religious dogmatism. Continued persecution of Homosexuals, and of course spreading lies concerning Condoms, that resulted in Aids spreading throughout Africa. I'll end it there...
pillsareyummy 1 year ago
@pillsareyummy How is the Bush administration representative of Christians? So, by your reasoning, invading Iraq was motivated by the Bible? "Jesus made do it".
TheAmazingMegster 1 year ago
@TheAmazingMegster The Bush administration banned Stem cell research because of Christian dogma related to the Soul. Dogma doesn't have any influence unless those with power adhere to it. Linking my comment to the Iraq war is bordering on quote mining. However, Bush DID say that he was doing 'God's will'. That statement carried weight with certain christian voters.
