MICK, WE LOVE YOU. LOVE DB, BUT NEVER EVER THE SAME WHEN HE BROKE WITH THE MOST UNDER RATED GUITARIST /PRODUCER/ ARRANGER EVER KNOWN. GREAT VID THOUGH. X X
The '1980 Floorshow' was broadcast October 1973 in the USA on tv. It was the first time I had seen or heard Bowie and this performance totally altered my taste in music from that moment on. As Bowie was singing this song I said to myself ...'This guy has the best voice in rock music I have ever heard' !! The rest is history as was this show.
All I can say is WOW! This was fantastic! Classic Bowie. And, no, Ziggy Stardust will never die as long as video's like this are posted. Long live Ziggy!!!
Wow, great live show of this song. Mick and David sounds great together singing. To me, David was at his best with Mick. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for sharing this PatyDifusa : ) you rock.
Actually, it is Aynsley on this clip. This was after Woody left. Dead giveaway is Aynsley's stick grip at the time: Traditional Grip and because he looks nothing like Woody. Go watch Zappas 200 motels and you'll see the same guy, same set-up, same grip and same great playing.
classic Rock song. slower tempo than usual, Bowie very emotional, lots of room for guitar fills. Bowie smiled throughout, as he sang the song... i can't help but think this song was not about an astronaut being alienated, but getting away from it all, getting away from Earth's problems...
When I was 12, David Bowie saved my life. At a time when I desperately needed something to identify with, there he was. Hardest thing in the world is being in middle school and being different when you're 12. Thanks a lot David. You made a real difference to me if that means anything.
My favourite version of this song. All the instruments sounds are distinct and yet blend together excellently and the lead guitar solos sound great. Bowie as Ziggy Stardust and the Apollo rocket clips really date it to that 'happening' time at the start of the 1970s.
hey misterbill4, how bout you not pick on my friend Itipcows. k bud? thatd be great. or i could summon the goulish cock demons on your household, and borbis flank your toaster.
AND the band is not the spiders. Its just Mick ronson on guitar and Trevor bolder on bass, Woody Woodmansey on drums is missing. So you can not really say it is the whole band.
This clip is from no later than 1973 the band is the spiders and yes its the late great mick ronson on lead guitar . Love this clip does anybody Know were its from and if there is more since the ziggy farwell concert good as it is is nowhere near as good quality as this.
I like this version better than the CD version. Really solid bass line. That other guy sings pretty well. Kinda steals the spotlight with that bright outfit. Who is he?
I'm not sure, but the name Mick Ronson comes to my mind. I seem to remember something about Mick Ronson, it's been a while, like about 23 years! My memory isn't that good
i love how her sarcastically sang "tell my wife i lover her very much" he's my life. i recommend every bowie loverr to see labyrinth and the hunger. the end.
uh... yeah... the 1980 FLoor Show on NBC, the actual year was 73 I believe, the last TV performance with Mick Ronson around the time of Pin-Ups, hence Everything's Alright and Sorrow also being performed on the same show
i just thin that this one is not a song for move a lot or be very hapy , is a very melancolic song to listen to the lyrics and have a cigarrete . by THE WAY DRUGS ARE NOT EXCUSE OR A REASON FOR ANYTHIN WE DO , WE ARE THE RESPONSIBLE .
