Wow, thanks for over 20,000 views guys! I have found a way to fix the door glitch mentioned at 1:56. You need to place the door in the desired location BEFORE you build the walls, then the door will look normal. Again, the 'moveobjects on' cheat must be entered in order for this to work.

i found a remedy to the "cant level the terrain" prob

~construct the walls for your garage (make it two stories tall)

~turn on the cheats "moveobjects on" and "boolprop contrainfloorelevation false"

~build your foundation whereever you need it for the house, then the walls of your home

~use the leveling tool to level the roof

*i used the multi-layer foundation thingy for inside my garage, not brick foundation. at this point you can build the garage door and suchness. this works for me :)

It's not working for me, I can't use he red brick foundadtion the on'y one that works is the brown and so i thought okay it's gonna work I do all that and i can't but the door in and so I tried doing the other red brick foundation and it won't attach to the garage wall! Help!!

This isn't working for me :/

I followed the steps exactly to the part where you have to start putting the walls around your garage. It's saying that it can't level the terrain when I try going past the stairs placed in there. Then if I use the "boolprop constrainfloorelevation false" cheat, the deck gets raised with the wall o.O

you have to use the split level foundation. On mine it's the last choice on the first row, third column. It's sort of brown-ish.

I had the same problem but once i chose that foundation I didn't have anymore problems. Hope it works for you too!!

on the menu( where it shows your city or neibour hood on the left bottom , you see the blue thing click on the star thing then click yes then go to the first thing where it shows the house and click it go to page 2 out of 4 and the garage door should be there !! next to the car , then down lode it and you have a garage door

As long as the stairs don't interfere with the car in your driveway, you should be fine. Remeber, u hav to enter 'moveobjects on' cheat for it to work.

[boolprop constrainFloorElevation false] and to turn it off, type true instead.

I'm having touble with this. I tried it several times and it still will not allow me to put the foundation next to the wall. I tried using the contrainfloorelevation cheat and that doesn't help. I think I'm missing something.

maybe u entered the cheat wrong. In your comment you said contrain instead of constrain. I dont know if this is what entered in the game, but it could be your problem. also, you can enter "help -all" into the cheat box and it will list all of the cheats. then you can copy down the cheat you want word for word. I have tried this cheat on a P.C and mac and it has worked fine. Although, if u are using a labtop, reply and i will send you a link for trouble shooting.

Oops, yeah I meant "constrain" and I tried some different things with it today and got it. Instead of a distorted door, the walls are slanted down. I guess here's no perfect way to get it. Gosh, I hope the Sims 3 is able to do things like this without cheats.
