Go to vwvortex forums and look under the R32 section. You can do the flapper mod for free(always on). OR you can install a switch for like 40 bucks.

Do all the ECS tuning switches blow? Or did you just get a bad one? Because i wanna remove the resonator and flapper mod on mine too. Did your check engine light turn on cause ive been hearing that it does

I have heard that they have since fixed the problem. I simply ditched the resistor, losing the "stock" option, but I did not really see a need for it anyways. Now I have either always opened, or always closed. I did not get a check engine light.

To have the resonator removed, $25. I installed the flapper switch, which I bought from ECS tuning, but I suggest you just make your own switch. Their resistor blew right away, and nearly started a fire in my car. grrrrrr. Total cost, about $35.

Just had the stock resonator removed and replaced with with equal diameter pipe. Cost $25, and I couldnt be happier, especially with the flapper switch so I can quiet it down from inside the car on the fly.

I can think of very few engines besides a VR that can emit that growl. While the sound is pretty loud, I can only imagine what it sounds like at WOT. I like it alot, though the neighbours may cry foul! :)
