  • I have a 1981, thats been in storage almost 20 years, in almost mint condition. Any idea what it might be worth ? The back tire was replaced, everytyhing else is pretty much original. Even gas tank is original with original paint and NO DENTS. Only thing missing is the front Plate for attaching the #. cant seem to locate it .

  • @jd426999 It's really hard to say. This one was the first year they made the TT (not XT) so it may have gone for a little more than you can expect. If your's is as sweet as you say it is, I would think you could expect somewhere between $1200 and $1400 but that's just a guess. Keep an eye on ebay for your number plate. I've seen them on there several times.

  • Sometime during the late summer of 76, I miscalculated the space between two trees, and the decompression lever never worked quite the same after that. :~)

  • The decompression lever is there for a reason...

  • shiftmaster....and your method for getting it in first gear would be???? :~)

  • Bloody hell dude, thats not the way to put the old lady in first gear.

  • great trail-play bike,simple & super realiable,,they should make simple/cheap bikes again

  • @carrysmith2008 You're right! It's the most versatile, dependable bike I've ever owned. When I bought it new (a long time ago!), I think it was $1325. What a deal.

  • That's a wheelie machine! I had a '77. On Friday and Saturday nights, we used to wheelie up and down the 4-lane hwy that went straight through downtown. Miss those days

  • @n2motocross There was a time..... These days I've found my bones break easier, and take longer to heal. Because of that, I do what I can to keep the front wheel on the ground whenever possible. To tell you the truth, the front suspension was the weakest part of this great motorcycle. Sliding sideways with the front wheel just barley touching was always a rush. Thanks for the view.

  • very nice bike!!

  • @eleazhar Thanks it's been fun

  • The tank is like my '75 MX250;...

  • @99olo The design is very similar. Don't know about yours, but this one is aluminum. Also the shape of the front of the tank is pretty different. Good eye though. Enjoy that 250. Nice bike

  • Always exciting to bring home a "new" motorcycle. IMHO, thumpers are the best, and most versatile. Especially for off road. Have fun, and be safe.

  • my dad just bought one, said he and his mate rode just on the back wheel all the time. took it for a ride i was doing it within a block :S awesome thumper, also a fan of xl 500's for the similar thumping attitude. nice video.

  • Thanks Thumper. Even when it was new, I would sometimes start it with my hand (to win a beer or two). Just past compression, and stay out of the way. I bought it new, and this one didn't came with a spark arrestor.

  • yeah dont need to kick them hard sounds great without the spark arrestor

  • einer der wenigen, welcher weiß wie es geht

  • @speedforyam Schieben Vergangenheit Kompression, an der Spitze zu starten, und als sie über Triumphs "kick mit Nachdruck" zu sagen zu verwenden.

  • Ton's of fun in the woods, two trackin', and on the ice, and yes deejayzak, it usually was a one kicker.

  • like em and good for short blasts on country roads

  • Ends the myth they are impossible to start

  • Best fun bike yamaha ever put out.

just start it ride it and enjoy it.

    BRRRRRRAAAAPPP goes the Yammie!!!!!!

    they are soo cool.

  • wanna seel it?

  • Sorry. I just never was a big wheelie guy.

  • you forgot to wheelie

  • Parents are funny like that. Got ta love um. Mine sold the family cottage so I wouldn't.........

That 250 is a good bike. Keep working out, gain some strength, and work up to the 500. Ride safe.

  • my dad had a 76 tt500 and a 92 wr500, he got rid of both in 2005 because he thought that i was going to grow up to kill myself on one of them. so now i just have a 250f

  • @paisley909 No, there was never a speedo or tach.

  • What a lovely clean TT500 man.

  • @htzzn Thanks. It was a good "friend", and always got me out of the woods.

  • start on the first kick, wow, awsome!

  • @fkhodada That's what it's SUPPOSE to do. :-)

  • No, it's not for sale but thanks for the kind words.

  • Clean is it for sale?

  • @htzzn No. After 34 years, sold it to a guy from England. Own one?

  • Nice bike dude... i have one '78 model but chrome fuel tank....

  • @herbdell Enjoy it!!

  • You don't have to kick thát hard if your ignition is set well. Nice bike!!

  • You're right. Even when these were new (I bought this one new), you could go JUST past compression, and actually start it with your hand. I think I've won a beer or two on that bet. Thanks for looking.

  • gotta love the kick indicator window!! i haxe an xt 500

  • My TT doesn't have an indicator window. You had to do it by feel, which is OK, unless you were standing knee deep in mud, and your buddies were watching. Thanks for looking.

  • e se que

  • si, que vende

  • que vende

  • How big/tall is this bike? Just curious.

  • bisoño-....

  • usted es cruel y un tonto...
