  • Might be stupid for asking but still, I need to know: Why is everyone so obsessed with Cliff? I know he was in Metallica as basist on Kill, Ride, Master but what did he do that made him so "Legendary"? Did he make any guitar riffs that they used? What is the deal here?

    No offense.

  • @MrRagge5 they were a bunch of kids who didnt know a lot about music theory, that overall metallica sound on ride, master, and justice are because cliff pushed them to be more intrucate and more artistic. he also did write a lot of riffs (or at aleast helped develope the riffs) if your really intrested read the book on his life "To Live is to Die", great book, a bass players bible if you will

  • @MrRagge5 Simply put, if you like this tune, you know why Burton is that legend.

  • OPERA METAL!!!!!

  • What is the song in the intro?

  • @xlordbowserx The End of The line from death magnetic

  • I don't know why but Metallica just sounded a lot better without Rob. I'm sorry to all you Trujilo fans but Cliff was the best and Jason was okay but Rob just ruined it. Now Metallica is sounding worse and worse.

  • @Gadaffied Why don't you play with Metallica?

  • *-* this song is Espectacular!!

  • whats the song at the beginning of the video?

  • the end of the line

  • @rpgkingpin the end of the line

  • Robert is pretty good.

  • metallica creators of "metallirock" metal and rock at the same time, nobody can do it better than metallica.

  • wierd thing, cliff burton never played orion alive!!

  • @theuglyindiankid

If Cliff never played this when he was alive... How do you imagine he recorded it?

  • @ZombieClockwork u got a point there, what i meant was thers no video on youtube with cliff playing the song on stage--thats as far as i know..

  • @ZombieClockwork well, he never played in a concert. they were going to play it like in the last five concerts of the tour where Cliff died.

  • the sound of the bass and rob muscles fit in perfectly, macho baby!!

  • no it didnt

  • this suck

  • Damn, that whole thing sounded great!

  • I miss the wah wah on the bass lol, but Robert's doing awesome!

  • beautiful<3

  • HEIL METALLICA!

  • Primus sucks! Oh wait, wrong band...

  • METALLICA RULES!!

  • Jajajaj digan lo que digan trujillo sera mejor ke newsted

  • @TheMetalmania15

    Estoy totalmente de acuerdo

  • jason is a great bassist, but let's face it, he never could with orion, to live is to die, the call of Ktulu, anesthesia etc. and robert if you can, now that's one, the other never have wanted to play those songs laziness or something else but this video shows that at least for me, is better than jason robert

  • On this video Lars is on fire!!!

  • Rock in peace cliff lml

  • @TheZATRIANI

    lml? lol

  • Cliff Burton. Born 50 years ago. Will be remembered for the next 500.

  • @soberek

Or until the sun blows up which is, I'm sure at least a million years from now and everyone's dead.

  • @soberek You mean the forever

  • 8:25 almost made me cry, we miss you cliff

  • WOW!! This is Metallica on one of their good days! It's just that sometimes I see them play very sloppy, but they were on the ball in this video:)

  • Intro song name?

  • @benf199105 Thank you ^^

  • has Rob a Fernandes Bass or a new Warwick Bass?

  • @RockIsK1ckAss the end of the line ..

  • 2:20 James... you don´t have hair anymore, sorry :(

  • Gg Kirk fucking owns shit da best ever

  • robert <3

  • It's not the noob's that don't care for Rob. It's the oldb's like me, that practiced all of Cliff's lines over and over until our parent's and friends no longer would have anything to do with us and their ears are still bleeding to the bass writing of Mr. Cliff Burton.

  • ...And God bless Mr.Cliff Burton...

  • Robert Trujillo kicks ass u_u

  • They played "to live is to die" at their 30th anniversary.

  • 50% of comments: "OMGWTF Rob is a maggot Cliff was the besterest EVAR hes a god i wish he could come back as a zombie so i could have his little zombie children WOOOOO!!!!"

There, now all you fools can shut the hell up and watch.

  • @Ashitaka1110 Yeah Metallica Rules

  • @Ashitaka1110 Haha :D Thank you

  • Why is Kirk playing James solo??

  • @Nichts8 kirk plays this solo for years..... :O

  • God bless Mr. Cliff Burton. Metallica's best song!

  • Why does Rob play different notes than the originals in the intro. Now it fucking sucks. Original intro by Cliff is pure melody.

  • not even close

  • there aren't good or bad drum player, there are unique styles and diferent forms for playing a drum and Lars has his own style. I think the only thing that matters here is that he is a leyend because of his unique style and label and the challenge is trying to be as original as he in our lifes, and asume the challenge of being famous.

  • Rust in peace cliff

  • I hate people who are hating on Lars Ulrich , he's almost 60(!) years old, look what he does ! Can't tell your grandpa is rocking ass like that !

  • @BobBinnenstad Even they say they play better than him

then why are they poor and lars is rich xD

  • He is only going on 49...born in '63......The badest around!!!

  • @BobBinnenstad he isn't even 50, i'm sure every 50-year-old drummer that has been playing for decades can play more professionally than lars. and i do appreciate his input in the 80s on the drum tracks and arranging the songs with james but it's a fact that he's really lost his edge on drumming

  • @BobBinnenstad I am completely agreeing with you, but what if your grandpa is nicko mc brain? He is older then lars and better then ever on his age.

  • @BobBinnenstad i agree but men he is just 48

  • @UberrMousee woops my bad lolz

  • @BobBinnenstad almost 50 man, not 60...:))) he's old enough you don't have to age him to...

  • Lars sucks...this I`d do better.

  • @daevven haha u have more money for sure

  • @daevven but he succeded in life and considering that ur taking ur time to hate on him on the internet suggests that you haven't.

  • @CraSSiou I do not hate him. Actually I`ve loved Metallica since the 80`s. But Lars do not play drums well anymore. He stopped playing good drums right after they realesed "...and justice for all". Lars have loose his tempo, stamina and finess and it gets worse witin the years. Dave Lombardo and Charlie Benante still play fast and powerful.

And yeah Lars earn his money well. He deserved it, but he is no longer the great drummer as before.

  • No Puede estar tan bueno esto,, POR DIOOOOOSSS !!!

  • Aca si me gusta como suenan todos los instrumentos...

  • Lars gives his best talent

  • @kusipussi I agree, Lars isn't the greatest drummer out there but you can tell that he's putting his all in it and you've gotta appreciate that no matter what.

  • @legojunk53 Lars brings way more to Metallica than the Drums. He constructs their songs. Without him, Master of Puppets, One, Creeping Death, Fade to Black... The list goes on and on wouldn't be the songs they are. James and Kirk write the riffs but Lars puts everything together.

  • @JJMM33 waaaayyyy wrong. Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, Fade To Black, etc were the result of Cliff's genius. song structure, etc. notice how the quality of the albums after Puppets steadily declined. especially the suck ass St. Anger! ugh. if Cliff were still around, NO WAY that Anger would suck as bad as it did and would have kicked ass. Long Live Cliff!!

  • @ztztzyzy Sorry but I have to disagree with you. AJFA proves that metallica still could do this without Cliff. Im not saying that Cliff wasnt a big influence for metallica. He certainly was. Metallica was still musically very strong but well alcohol and personal issues had the biggest influence on St. Anger.

  • @fatino1234 you still can't argue against the fact that the music steadily declined. metallica is still a great cover band, but for original music, nah. as for Anger, it totally bombed and load & reload weren't great albums either. i still say that if Cliff were around to contribute to Anger, it would have been good. AJFA was right after Cliff. i'm talking about anything (except Gargage Inc. etc) done after The Black Album. the horrible vids trying to be alternative, *shudder*

  • @ztztzyzy I agree with you for the most part, except that I feel like Death Magnetic was a nice start in the right direction for these guys. Was it the best? No, but at least it was more geared towards their original fans, not the fans of rock n roll Metallica. If it is any indication, along with the beyond magnetic tracks, then I feel like the next REAL album will be something to be proud of

  • @Monkey111092 true, they seem to be back on course, their "Metallica plays The Ramones" was a great side project. part of Death Magnetic's problem was that Bob Rock played bass. but it is a step in the right direction. and as you said, the next REAL album should be good now that Rob's on board....have you checked out "Violent and Funky" by Infectious Grooves? Rob totally kicks ass on that song....

  • bullshit, bob cock didnt play anything in death magnetic, he did in st anger

  • @Rockoutcookiemonster ah, a true fan caught that, congrats.

  • @legojunk53 try to play dyers eve on drums if you can :D

  • @legojunk53 Lars is a great drummer, one of my favorites. It's all down to opinion on who they think is the best drummer I think he is one of, if not the the best personally. But yes, he's putting all of his effort into his performances you can see that, you do have to appreciate that no matter what.

  • @legojunk53 Sorry to disagree with you, but if he put his all in it he would practice a lot more.

  • @LTChaosLT look in the video title smartie-pants.

  • @TheMetallicaMonster He was talking about opening another smartie-pants.. At the intro you can hear The End of The Line

  • What is this song?? 0:00 ; D

  • @rekrut28 end of the line

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody who hates on Rob is a fucking idiot, and I'd like to see any of you do better than him. Cliff Burton (God bless him) was a legend, and he would be proud to see his legacy live on through Rob, so all of you stupid ass noob haters shut the fuck up and enjoy the music

  • @zelsharkawy92 Rob is AWESOME. Better than Jason and good as Cliff was.

  • @sfba1974 true on all accounts, but jason deserves respect

  • @sfba1974

good as cliff, maybe too much, but yeah, as kirk said " no ones played like that since cliff"

so, well, I don't think he is as good as this legend, guess why? he played a 5 strings bass.

but rob is one of the better bassist playing in metal, that's true.

  • @zelsharkawy92 Cliff is the greatest ever man, i respect jason and like him, but rob is the only true heir

  • @zelsharkawy92 Totally agree

  • @zelsharkawy92 do you even know what idiocy means... dick

  • @zelsharkawy92 i couldn't agree with you more brother , the biggest problem with rockers/metalheads is that they don't judge by the music , they judge by the people that is playing it. i personally love the cliff and jason eras , rob is an awsome bass player although i don't like their albums after 2003 , but i love the fact that they still play some of my old and favorite songs. like this one "ORION" . R.I.P Cliff , respect jason , awsome job robert

  • @zelsharkawy92 ;) but don´t forget jason......

  • @zelsharkawy92 agree , but leave god out of the debate , go play with imaginary friends somewhere else

  • @zelsharkawy92 DAMN RIGHT!

  • @zelsharkawy92 damn right man u told em

  • Awesome! Thanks for uploading! This is some heavy shit

  • download 2012 here i cum

  • I was in Tallica's concert...Lars started play the beat at beginning, and i was immideatly like: What the FUCK?! That tells about how great this song is...

  • @01fromfinland I didn't get it. It means, when your reaction at the beginning of the song is WTF, then it means for you, that this song is great? 0_o

  • this vid made my day

  • FUCK I LOVE METALLICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't know how the band could let Trujillo play this song, he ruined the song.

It's like spitting in Cliff's tomb.

  • @21alex295 Wha... what?

How did he "ruin" the song?

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah

  • holy shit. is that a fuckin' playback right in 2:08 ??? :(

  • @piotropiotro12345 why sir..?

  • @piotropiotro12345 cause it looks like Rob started to play another riff to early and sound does not go with his play..

  • lars may not be a good drummer for sure as hell the number one thing i like about him is that he hits the snare hard!

  • 6:50 Reset button! boom.

  • 2:20 - 2:35 imagine if james still had long hair right here. now that is fucking metal!

  • best live version. awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • @VredesStall no.the reason is this song is to fast and rapid for the use of picks.

  • cool

  • Rob owned this song, played it just as good as on the album!

  • @shishkebab0dude666 yeah, especially that the bass part was from playback, look closely at 2:11

  • @Domiman13 It wasn't really playback, but they added that part after the concert, pretty sad actually :(

  • @shishkebab0dude666 but it's still cheating :P

  • wheres james lawl jk <3!! :)
