  • Why most people say that a relay can amplify current? i don't understand them!!! A relay acts only a switch and the 30AMP rated in the relay is the amount of current a relay can handle. Just like a fuse, a 5AMP fuse, if you run this fuse more than a 5AMP it will Damaged.

  • you can direct it.no need relay. just a switch.hehe

  • I want my deposit back for the sybian please.

  • Junk Science!

  • I did this exact experiment at school. He did a number of things wrong. I'll give e-props to anyone who knows how the lead need set up...and how to do the basic relay test.

  • That relay is useless. You use a switch to turn iti on and off, you could/should skip the relay and just use the switch!

What are yu trying to do anyway, you seem lost in the details.

  • the relay has a max current of *30 AMPS!*

the switch is probly like 2.

you can put way more thru the relay than the switch

  • Sorry but no you are wrong. That seems to be a "Sierra Heavy-Duty Toggle Switch" that is rated for 50 amps continuous.

I don't mean to bicker but i just wanted to help him out considering his own admitted lack of experience in the area.

Along that line I hope is doing alright; no new posts for over a year. The stuff he was hobbying with can be very dangerous.

  • well, from the sound of the curcuit, it seems that the relay is switching on and off continuously. that cant be done with a switch.

and most switches aren't that high, and even if it is, its just a different way to do something.
