The one thing I can say Full Sail is good at is directing students to Sallie Mae. They have an AWESOME Financial Aid department. They have an awesome power to get you the money to attend, even if a typical financial institution would look at you and laugh you out the door.
How do you think successful Recording Engineers, Designers, and Film-makers got along without FS? They got themselves a true real-world education. In the real world.
If you want to get yourself in a mountain of debt for a worthless degree in an unstable job market, be my guest. $500/mo payment for the next 15 years right here. I'm scared out of my mind encompassed by this debt. House, kids, another car if mine breaks down? Dear God.
Pro Tip all people replying to my post use anecdotal evidence with no real backing to support a heavily funded lobbyist ingrained school with little to no useful degrees. Logic 110 not part of the degree program?
@LastTestament I doubt a Full Sail degree is worthless. My step brother makes 6 figures since graduating in 2009. The problem with any type of schooling is lack of self-discipline. Do the work that needs to be done, no matter how hard it is, and you will find success. You will never be successful by blaming your problems, faults, etc., on other people. It is your responsibility to get the job you want in the career you want.
@SainteLincoln86 I've been extremely successful since graduating and i have no problem telling people that full sail took advantage of me. When i graduated i was so far behind other graduates from schools that were less then half the price it was ridiculous. They take advantage of 19 year old kids who are bilinde by dreams. Guarantee you that none of the recording arts full sail grads are making 6 figures as well.
@crashdog5866 I disagree. The Grammy's had nominee's like Rhianna who have Full Sail graduates that worked on her album. They may not make 6 figures, but I guarantee they make a nice bit of money. Again, it is up to the graduate to make the money, Full Sail gives you the tools. I don't expect Full Sail to get me a job, that it my responsibility. I also don't expect to make 6 figures right after graduation either, realistic goals are successful. Naivety is useless.
@SainteLincoln86 Who's being naive? I've been working on in this industry for 8 years and have worked on grammy award winning records. I make the same amount of money that I would working on any other record. When full sail graduates 500 recording arts kids a month and maybe 4 or 5 "Work" on records that get grammy's that's not a good statistic. I think FS has graduated 50,000 students in recording arts since they opened. People i've work on those projects with take 2nd jobs to make ends meet.
@crashdog5866 I wasn't speaking about you, in general being naive is useless, students have to set realistic goals. No matter what industry you are in you have to climb the ladder, create a body of work, a portfolio of some kind. I do agree with you though, the recording arts industry is flooded with graduates who are struggling, but our economy is bad. It also doesn't help when artists aren't any good or just aren't appealing, that is something that can tarnish a career, IMO.
@LastTestament I'm a Full Sail student for Sports Marketing and Media and I love it. I did a lot of extensive research about colleges/universities before choosing Full Sail and to be honest EVERY school is overpriced, they all have some kind of flaw, people will complain. The choice is yours when it comes to your future and what you get from your degree, wherever it is from.
@SainteLincoln86 How long has full sail had sports marketing and media? Um not long enough to build a track record of successful graduates so you couldn't have done much research. You can get a sports marketing degree from a community collage for less then 10000 a year. that's pretty reasonable @LastTestament
I have a question.even so if ya'll do believe it's a scam or whatever and ya'll believe that ya'll can get just as good as an education by just being self-taught.then why don't we just self-teach ourselves while we are in school.I attend full sail and I still buy books, dvds, and magazine training to constantly hone my skills that way things will not be brand new to me when I get around to it.I don't want to soley learn from just school because to be honest i think school is not enough
@12jmlnv7 I don't believe you can be self taught. I just know from real world experience that recording school teacher don't have a clue what they are talking about. You need 2 apprentice & learn that way. You'll have to do it regardless if you go to school or not and it won't cost you anything. Studios and engineers always need help and most of them are willing to spread there knowledge for free. You can't learn from a book, a "teacher", or online. The only way it works is 2 learn in real world
@crashdog5866 i guess it all depends on what you are studying.you are right on when it comes to the music industry because most of the people who are in it learned through apprentice.Im taking game art and there is no way that I can even consider an apprenticeship right now because there are no game developers in my area.I have learned a lot through trial and error and studying. We can't learn everything on our own though.nor can we all get an apprenticeship as easy as it seems
@SeaMonkeyPro That doesn't make any sense. I have no need for classes like "Essential Skills In The Audio Industry" which is a complete joke. Same with introduction to media arts or behavioral science. They also forced me to take a post production class that I had no intrest in. I know tons of people who are more successful then me in the recording world that never even stepped foot in a school so that argument is ridiculous.
I'am about to enroll into full sail university, You are paying money for an education not a fucking job, If you cannot put the effort into finding a job by yourself then do not go to college. It is not the college's responsibility to find you a job, and hold you hand for the rest of your life. I'am going for Game Design, And what caught my eye, is when a new type of technology comes out, i can go back to Full Sail, and take the class for free. Don't hate on a school, because you lack effort.
@XxZardasxX Fair enough but I never said full sail owed me a job. Part of what I paid for was their placement department services and all they gave me was a list of studios and phone numbers. And i'm not exaggerating. From what I understand the game design industry is doing very well right now and full sail is a good investment for that. But in the world of audio it's a different story. FS RA Instructors have very little real world experience most of them are students that got jobs at full sail
@XxZardasxX Also take a look at my other videos before you decide that I haven't put any effort into my carrier. Take a look at some of the other comments as well. Like i said for game design it's probably a good idea but not for recording.
@XxZardasxX Don't make the mistake of going to full sail I went it is not worth it and all of the good stuff you hear is from teachers that are paid to represent them in a good way or students that just started and are happy because they got a macbook that they can pay for later for double what they cost on apple.com. Don't do it you will regret it. Your second year you are required to come up with an extra $5,000 on top of the $15,000 in loans and also the third year. DON'T DO IT.
@XxZardasxX This "school" would be worth it, if it wasn't so short and crowded. The amount of time you spend actually doing any "recording" or learning the process is minuscule. You spend most of the time memorizing info for the up coming test instead of actually learning. The 2am classes are just stupid and should be removed. Those sessions are a blurr to me I was half asleep and once you're done with that at 4am you have 2 hrs for the next class. Good luck trying staying awake!
@foolsale But I know a student who says fullsail is a good school. In fact a lot of students say it's a good school. Idk if I can believe that. Where's the Proof?
I went here back in 2005-2007. Biggest regret of my life. I am extremely lucky that I did not have to pay back any student loans though. The RA program is a waste of time. Paying 40K+ for a AA that AT BEST can get you a unpaid internship then if your lucky a job that pays 10h. LMAO
If you didn't do well in high school, you shouldn't go to college. Period. If you really want to go, find a degree in a field with demand, like health care. Study hard to catch up and go to a real college.
@crashdog5866 Yea, sure they did, because the local community college offers education in the required fields to even get in the door at a game company. Do some research. I have and what I found out is that the degree is secondary to a persons knowledge/talent. You won't learn game design at El Cookaracha Community College.
@ThkUJesus Not to mention on the newest Tranformers movie. One of the lead designers at Riot is a graduate of FS. Two local game companies I interviewed both highly recommended FS, but they both pointed out that portfolio trumps degree every time. People that piss and moan about the school not handing them a 6 figure job on graduation day get no respect from me. I've done the traditional school, have 2 "traditional" degrees, and have no interest in either field. Did it for the money.
@ThkUJesus Why do so many people say bad things about full sail? To be honest I don't know of another school out heir that has so may disgruntled students. Their must be a reason for that.
@crashdog5866 University of Phoenix, AIU, DeVry, etc. Pretty much all For Profit schools get shit on because of their target market. Let's face it, for-profit schools, unfortunately, are the hope for the dregs of society that couldn't pass muster in traditional schools or were too lazy or unplanned to get their degree before they popped out 17 kids. So when they fail at the college or job hunting afterwards too, it's the schools fault, not their own laziness or ineptitude.
CLASSIC...this video is hilarious...I don't know much about this place but I do know one thing...the two guys I know went there are currently working at guitar center hahahaha....FOOL SALE...this stuff cracks me up....seriously watched this video 3 times
@RainKingRecording My bad if u thought I was trying to hoe you ( talk bad about u) didn't mean for it to come out that way. I'm just asking is the school really that bad
I watched all ur videos and I was wondering is fullsail really that bad or are u a failed student or drop out or something. Not that I'm tryna talk down on u I'm just asking cuz Im thinking about taking online classes. Please answer this
@foolsale i agree that the system is flawed.but you gain knowledge that can apply to yourself that will help you make it in the industry if you do get hired.you get nothing out of scams.college is only a scam if you get nothing out of it.you get knowledge if you apply yourself.if you don't then you scammed yourself.a degree gets you an interview if anything and from there its up to you.if you have no experience the company have nothing else to look at other than your past education
@12jmlnv7 before you go to college they make you take an ACT,SAT,or whatever test they have you to take to see where you stand as far as past education.it's no different from the job interview.they don't wanna hire someone and have to train them on the jobsite because the company will lose time and money training someone when they could just hire someone with a degree and knows the ins and out of the process.if you have no previous education or experience, you're chances are more slim
@foolsale do me a favor.youtube or google any college and put scam behind it and i assure you that majority of them especially popular ones will have people ranting the same shit ya'll are.*don't waste your money here**you cant get jobs when you get out**i learned nothing here**go somewhere else**they lied to me*find a single school that found every student a job and let me know which one and i will hop on ya'll bandwagon.there are people just like you on other universities.not just FS
@foolsale no doubt.full sail tells students what they want to hear to get them to pay that money.if they said otherwise no one would go.thats everywhere man.other universities turn out students that don't get a job after graduation.when i signed up for IADT last year they told me straight up they were not responsible for me getting a job.full sail didn't.but IADT cost more.so i wasn't all wide eyed and air headed going into full sail like it seems.i know whats going on
@foolsale then they should stop complaining about job placement.as far as education there is no best at quality.the student should do a lot of work on their own and keep practicing to be better and prepared.successful students come out everywhere.not just one place.people who failed or dropped out and ranting about how the school is a scam does also.if you known your money could have been spent somewhere else then why would you go here?
@foolsale i can't believe you guys are taking the way i type seriously.i dont give a fuck how i type out my sentences or spell.i guess that ya'll cant argue my point so ya'll say something about my use of grammer that has nothing to do with the fact that you guys expect to have a handout once ya'll graduate.
@foolsale i guess its evident that the ppl bashing full sail dropped out or flunked out bc they wasnt motivated and expected it to be easy.y else would they be talkin shit about the school?so stop blaming the school for ya'll misfortunes
People bash full sail because they think because they go there they will automatically get a job when they get out. The school is mean't to equip you with knowlege, what you do with that knowlege is 100% up to you. If you want to get a job just because you went to school go become a doctor.
This video was funny! But for the record, of the ppl who actually stay at Full Sail, they have an 80% graduation rate. I agree, it is pretty expensive but your success depends on your effort. Some of the students were already doing ok before enrolling. I am self taught and I'm going to Full Sail for the credentials, as well as learning things I'm not that good at, like marketing. To each man is his own way.
I appreciate this. I filled out Full Sail's 'request info' and ever since then, they have not stopped calling me. They call me every day at strange times, such as in the morning when I am at work, or on the weekends, which a real University would not do. When they leave messages, I can hear other Full Sail telemarketer employees in the background, talking to prospective students. Thanks again for making this video :)
Key words 'STAND OUT.' when u apply for a job in ur field and they look at your portfolio or app,the ppl who get the job, portfolios 'STOOD OUT' from the rest of the remaining 200 or so.So you have to be really serious, passionate, professional, creative, unique, and stand out while ur in school as well as after graduating.not just holding ur hand out expecting for a job just bc u paid about 70 grand bc the company ur applying for dont care how much u paid for school.only ur work.
@12jmlnv7 Well this video is about recording not game design & I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is in the recording world it is impossible to pay off a student loan of full sail's magnitude & actually pressure your dream, especially when other schools charge 1/3 of what full sail costs 4 a better education. The other issue is that when i signed on to full sail they promised me that they would help me get a job. I didn't expect a hand out but I didn't get a lick of help
@RainKingRecording yes they promised to help but in the long run its still up to you and your ability.the college have no control over the industry when it comes to the hiring process.if you don't get hired, its not the schools fault.and i understand what the video means i was talking to the ppl bitching about college being a waste of time.of course the school will tell you what u wanna hear.you gotta think for yourself man.if they told me dat i wouldn't believe it to the fullest.
@RainKingRecording "Traditional" universities say the same thing. "Oh yea, we have a career development center"... and it's a corkboard in the cafeteria with job postings thumb-tacked to it.
Come on man, if you want a job in your industry, regardless of the industry, companies aren't going to come to YOU.
@RainKingRecording I'm sorry you haven't realized your dreams yet. From what little knowledge I do have about the recording industry, it's hard as hell to break into, even with a degree from Harvard School of RapNStuff. As a graduate of FS, what I've been told is that you have lifetime career development available. Since you paid for the degree, have you tried contacting the school again for contacts? It is, after all, ultimately up to you to put your knowledge to use.
I wouldn't take you serious by the way you cannot even spell out your words! There are 3 letters in the word 'u' and 'ur' I am pretty sure is 2 words with more letters! What the heck is ppl? Oh do you mean 'people'? You are not professional and 'bc' doesn't and should not stand for because. Get a dictionary, learn how to spell again, and maybe someone will give you a chance. Start writing like the professional you want people to think you are.
@mmm3505 i write like that so dat i wouldn't have to use as much characters in the comment box asshole.but u still knew wut it meant.the point is me getting my message across.i don't give a damn about my spelling.and i am good with english and spelling and it happens to be my fav subject.i guess u think i would write like this on a resume or sumthin.gtfoh.i kno better than that.i don't give a fuck what ya'll think about my spelling.
@RuffertoLux069 im not saying that a degree will promise a career because it will not.yea a good portfolio is more important but people need to realize that only a very small percentage of people make it with no degrees.we all shouldn't plan on landing that dream job off of just luck.hundreds of people are applying for that same job degree or not.if you sit around and expect things to be handed to you, you will not make it.you have to sell yourself along with a good portfolio.
its up to you on how ur experience go.not the teachers or cost ur paying to go.its hard to break into the industry bc its really competitive.you have to be a thinker and comming up with new things others might not think of.does dis sound familiar to u?oh it sounds like the people who made the most out of their education and worked hard and beyond and thought ahead of everyone else who went to school and expected a job just like that once they got out.you have to stand out plain and simple.
ppl plz stop bitching about colleges being a scam.college is wut u make of it.the whole point in college is to give you the tools you need to suceed in the industry.not promise you the job placement once you get out.im about to start full sail and im doing game design and i want the proper training so that my portfolio can give me the chance to land a job.i will start lookin for a job months before i graduate and i will constantly improve and go beyond and outdo competition.and thats wut it take
I went to Full Sail and it felt like the biggest waste of my time. I think in part it has to do with the "teachers". Granted to lab instructors know what they are doing and I can say I learned a lot from them, but the "teachers" suck. The lady that was supposed to help us make out portfolio never even showed us how to make the resume! If we were in the class 20 min i think it was a lot. And they call it recording arts only to drop the bombshell that it is audio engineering...
"Let me tell you all the hard truth. Recording Engineering is not a career anymore. You can’t get work with a background in recording engineering doing anything. It’s a completely 100% un-marketable skill. Save the money, forget the high dollar ‘recording institutes’ that pump out thousands of ‘graduates’ who wind up working as a stereo salesmen at Future Shop at best.
You simply cannot make a living at recording engineering. It is not possible."
You won't make 20,000 a year. You will make nothing. Full Sail lies to you. There is not ONE job for a recording engineer in all of North America that pays as much as minimum wage. This is a non existent profession, and a Full Sail 'qualification', if you can call it that is worthless.
I think this video is a complete bogus representation of full sail. I go to full sail currently for recording arts and have learned a shit ton of information that would have never been able to be accomplished at a traditional university or most other specialized schools. I have had hundreds of hours of studio time. Sucks for you people who can't hack it and look down on full sail, because this learning environment is amazing.
@mystereproductionz Wait until you graduate full sail and can't find a job. It's funny how all the full sail kids that are still in school and don't have any real world experience try to bast this video and all the full sail kids who have actual worked in the industry generally agree with me.
The video is made by someone who thinks it socially acceptable to talk to a professional college rep by saying their name is actually "Dj Crisbix", and he wants to make phat beats. I am suppose to take this seriously? This should be viral why ? Your representation of a serious matter is approached immaturely and lazy. Which I am assuming your "friend" is the same way. And you wonder why he's working at Guitar Center?
I don't really understand why everyone says its a scam? Think literally for a minute. your main stream universities are just a name or a "brand" if you will. Yeah sure its expensive, but name a school that isnt? Obviously they make you work your ass off with 4 hour lectures and 4 hour labs, not to mention certain classes require an 85 to pass. Yeah they have a bad rep, which honestly i fail to understand why? perhaps someone can enlighten me on this??
@yoursocool1990 Main Stream Schools That Arn't Expensive 1) Middle TN State University 2)School Of Audio Engineering 3)Conservatory Of Recording Arts 4)LA Recording School 5) Dark Horse Institute 6)TSU I've got a bunch more if you want me to list them. Work your ass off? Wait until you're engineering in the real world. You have to show up the night before and setup until 3 am show up @ 8am to prep for the session then run a session for 8 hours then you have clean up.
@RainKingRecording Just wondering why you didnt look into those schools prior to going to Fullsail? If you have so much info on the matter, why did you just listen to the first person that said fullsail?
@grandchamp8@RainKingRecording I did look into another school it was CRAS. The reason I wen't to FS over another school was because I was a stupid 19 year old kid who believed the lie that full sail fed. I didn't know about schools like MTSU. FS was only about 25k at the time I went as well. When the staff engineer at blackbird studio telles me not to tell anybody in nashville I went to Full Sail until i've proved myself that says volumes. Look rainkingrecording up on the time magazine website
@1337Tipton My point is if you owe $100000 to a school and only make $20000 a year you can't afford to make anything of your degree. Spend $20000 on a better education and get a real degree from a real university.
@1337Tipton Let's hear from you again a year or two after graduation, with your $60,000 of student loans, and not a single job prospect in the world . . .
@1337Tipton What's the success rate of the creative writing masters program? They tried to pitch it to me; but Ferris already bankrupted me for a TV bachelor's that I can't use anywhere because I don't use a Mac.
As a studio owner, I get the calls from all the audio schools looking to place students. This just involves agreeing to be added to the list and taking their calls. I see nothing else on their behalf. All of them; not just Full Sail. Many kids call on their own all full of "want to"; even if it's out of desperation. But I have yet to work with one that has any idea of music, sound and the business. They only have some gear knowledge; and very few people skills.
Maybe in the post world where you sit in a cubicle and edit sports programs all day, it's different. But any audio school is pretty much the laughing stock of the real studio world. I'm sure some kids have lucked up and found their way. But overall, it's just a lot of dreamers thinking they're gonna be in a glamorous setting, then realizing there are engineers already out there with no formal training and just a lot of music knowledge, talent and people skills to compete against.
One more thing, if you're covered in tattoos and body piercings, speak like you're a drug dealer in the ghetto, and write like you're texting your GF on the phone, consider your chances reduced by another 75%.
Full Sail is not a scam. I am an alumni of Full Sail and I have already gotten a shitload of freelance, internship interviews, and a bright, bright future.
If you went to Full Sail and you aren't successful, then your lack of success equals a lack of effort. You are only scamming yourself.
@WertleWoo I don't really see the need for the insults. Part of what i was paying for was the fact that the placement department was going to work hard to get me a job. I'm pretty capable of good gigs. My resume looks pretty good as it is. Before I made the commitment to go to full sail I was told that they had an amazing placement department and they would bust their ass off to help me find work. They did nothing for me except give me a list of studios in my area to call and send resumes to.
@ashia4life313 I'm not approving all the comments because people are saying I'm bitter because people are saying I've been a failure when I haven't. I own a great studio in Nashville I've worked with artist, producers and engineers that most can only dream of working with. I'm bitter because full took advantage of my aspirations when I was 19. They gave me a sub par education and charged me way too much for it. I'm bitter because they said they would help me find a job and never even tried.
@RainKingRecording Now you see by what you posted was 10X more proactive and less of a self-destructive as you video's. Look maybe you didn't get what you expected and as a (19) year old your parents should have informed you "Life sucks, and you only get out of it what you put into it".I have lived a blessed life in my career, I have worked for everyone from Hollywood to China and made heaps of money and do you want to know the first thing to do to get to where I have been ? Getout Of Nashville
So according to you, it's not the value of the education or their training system that is a scam, but the price tag and likelihood of securing a decent job in the industry. Sorry but you know the price before you sign up, it's worth the 2 years saved, and the school can't control the job market. A degree in women's studies is useless since there is no industry at all, but that doesn't stop public universities from granting it. FS gives you the training. YOU control what you do with it.
@searayus1 Really? Before I was a paratrooper I was a librarian. Before programming I was a mechanic. So what's your point? In any case, who is your "buddy?" I live about 30 minutes from the Full Sail campus, and I'd love to meet him. Name please?
If you spent more time applying to studies and less time making fun of it, you'd go pretty far. You only get what you put in in life. Nothing is given to you. Go get it!!
Lol, "Full Sail is a scam". Sounds like words from someone who doesn't know how to apply themselves. Saying ANY school is a scam is a BS statement. Schools can't be scams, or they wouldn't exist any longer. They give you the tools, what you do with the tools is up to you. If you don't use your time or the tools wisely, YOU WILL FAIL. Lol, you're failure, time to grow up, be a man and deal with the fact that your existence is useless. Full Sail is the bomb - fucking - diggity.
@AngrySackBoy Look at my other videos before you say I don't apply myself. Bottom line is they manipulate people who don't understand what they are dealing with into paying way more for something then it's worth. Sounds like a scam to me.
@crashdog5866 What you're describing is marketing, which is usually something businesses do. Only stupid people fall for marketing ploys, and Full Sail doesn't need stupid people. Why would they want to sign up someone who is going to fail out after 2 months, as opposed to signing up people who will be able to pass more classes they pay tuition for? Once again, if you don't know what you're talking about, stop talking about it.
@WertleWoo Well a 19 year old kids fresh out of high school are pretty stupid. I don't mean that as a dig I just know I was stupid when I was 19. I didn't have the life experience I needed to make good decisions. As far as full sail needing stupid people you'd have to be pretty stupid to spend 75 grand on something that other charge 20 or 30 grand for. I think full sail needs stupid people. They would sign up people who would fail after 2 month because they will still owe 6 months tuition.
It's not a scam because students don't do well and aren't making good grades. It's a scam because after a student works hard and earns their degree, barely any companies or people hiring for jobs will accept their degree and allow them higher pay.
Also if you try to go to a different school and you already have a bachelors, the next school won't accept your first degree and you can't continue onto a Masters degree.
The "paper" you pay for in the end is crap, all they want is your financial aid.
@kirabook And exactly what information are you basing this on? Because what you are saying is actually 100% false. Next time, don't comment if you don't know what you're talking about.
I know this because I have a relative at recently graduated from Full Sail university. He cannot get a job because of his "degree". It's as useless as a normal piece of paper and most of the places he has applied at do not accept his degree for what it is.
And guess what? He's now in dept, and it will take him even longer to repay his dept since he spent all those years paying into something that has literally screwed him over.
I base my information on facts and experience. How about you?
@kirabook So in other words, YOU DON'T KNOW anything. If you have a relative who graduated from Full Sail and can't get a job, it's not because they went to Full Sail. It's for the same reason that people who graduate ANY school can't get a job - they are lazy. Being in debt (not dept) was his CHOICE. Full Sail didn't force it on him. You base your information on speculation and hearsay. Since you don't actually have any facts or personal experience, please stop talking.
It's because he's been told REPEATEDLY he isn't qualified for his job. His degree means nothing to them, he might as well not have one at all.
Again, Full Sail is one of those for profit schools that basically tell a student they'll be prepared for a job and companies will be waiting in line to hire them. Guess what? That is not the case. People don't take Full Sail seriously. Just like any other silly scam, people fall for it.
@kirabook And how would you know this? Do you personally know any human resources representatives for any large-scale companies? Because I do. Oh yeah, and if nobody takes Full Sail seriously, why do I see reps from AMD, ATI, Google, and EA recruiting on Full Sail campus? I never saw them hiring on UF's campus. How can you honestly say Full Sail doesn't prepare students? In my first MONTH of programming at Full Sail I learned more than an ENTIRE YEAR at public university. Scam? LOL.
You can learn all you want there. I never said the university didn't have good teachers and programs. In fact, I have heard that the education they provide is quite excellent. That's not the point.
It's the ridiculous amount of money they ask for when you can easily go to a real university or community college for the same education. In addition to that, only certain states and businesses accept their degrees since they are accredited by ACCSC.
They market themselves like any other great University, but they aren't. Students work hard, get the degree they want only to find they can only work in certain places at certain jobs. And if you want to transfer out, good luck finding another college that accepts your credits from there.
@kirabook You obviously don't know anything about accreditation.
Go to fullsail, mylittlepwnies, com and read a real review. As far as finding a job? Hah. Go to the freelanceswitch forum and search for "Full Sail," then scroll to Giovanni's post on page 2 for more information about that. Also, would you mind telling me what degree your relative supposedly has? Let me guess, Associates in Recording Arts? Lulz.
Not at all. I believe he got a silly degree in game design. Definitely not worth his money.
It is you who apparently doesn't understand the difference between Nation accreditation and regional accreditation. Most regional colleges do not accept credits from national colleges.
Many businesses that for profit schools like Full Sail claim you can get a job at distinguish what type of accreditation your degree has. Not all of course.
@kirabook No. They. Don't. National vs regional accreditation doesn't matter to employers. How do I know? Because I asked them. When I was getting all the jobs I've had. Also, Game Design is a MASTER's program at Full Sail. Did your friend already have a Bachelor's to transfer into that? Or did they do the Game Development Bachelor's at Full Sail first? Is your friend applying for jobs as a designer? If so, that's stupid. You can't jump straight into being the boss with no experience.
Not a friend, a relative. And I already specified not all employers look into accreditation, but some do. And who did you ask? The career counselors at your university or the thousands of employers across the country?
He started at Full Sail and ended at Full Sail. The issue is not transferring within the school, it's transferring out of the school if need be. Even that is not the issue, when it comes down to it, the school needs to make it clear which accreditation they provide.
@kirabook If you bothered to read my post, I told you where I got my information. From HR reps I worked next to when I worked in IT. From interviewers at companies I hoped to (and in some cases did) work for. Also, from those reps at AMD, ATI, Google, and EA recruiting from Full Sail's campus that I mentioned earlier. No employers look into accreditation beyond recognition from the Department of Education. If you go to full sail's site, click on "Accreditation" at the bottom and you'll see it.
Lastly, if you want to continue your education elsewhere, you'll have to start over. Again, transferring national credits to regional credits pretty much never happens. When students enter colleges like Full Sail, they do not understand this, and Full Sail definitely doesn't advertise this. Students trying to get a higher education are inevitably scamed with this "secret". This information out and open. And I do know for a fact when I considered Full Sail, it is definitely not.
@kirabook Again, YOU ARE WRONG. I am going to a regionally accredited school at the same time I'm going to Full Sail. Both have no had problems accepting each other's credits. In any case, the problems you cite would happen between two regionally accredited schools if they have different regional accreditation agencies. And yes, Full Sail's website, on their About page, clearly names the ACCSC as their accreditation agency. So, you are wrong on all accounts, again. Stop trying.
Again, Full Sail is a scam, financially. I've said repeatedly, not for ALL. For a majority of students, they are not able to achieve the career they want because of their degree & education not being recognized. They can't transfer to a school not in their area -was in the paragraph that went missing- that will accept their credits.
As a school not regionally accredited like most colleges, this needs to be included in their marketing scheme. End of story.
@kirabook You are wrong. You just pulled that straight out of your ass. You are just extremely uneducated and ignorant. You also don't know when to close your pie hole. Seriously, learn when you're wrong and learn when to quit.
*sigh* I do not feel like typing my essay all over again so I'll keep it short and simple.
They display the information on their website. Not in the brochures they hand out in high schools, not on their commercials they display on TV, & their representatives don't tell you their accreditation unless you know to ask.
I was a high school student once. When I was looking into FS, I didn't know to ask that. Neither do most students. The school is great, but the marketing is highly misleading.
@kirabook That's not in any school's brochure. Valencia College, UCF, UF, and SMSU are public universities I've had some experience with. Guess what? None of them mentioned their accreditation either. It's just not a talking point. Full Sail is a trade school, and most trade schools are nationally accredited, and the accreditation is recognized by the Department of Education. It's all very standard. It's not a talking point because it's a non-issue. You just sound bitter you can't afford FS.
I said if you are not accredited by the same standard like most colleges, you should let it be known that your school is run differently and things will not go so smoothly for you when you transfer. Valencia as well as the others you have listed are all regionally accredited I believe, and that's what most colleges are accredited by. And I never said they weren't recognized either, if they are accredited by ACCSC, of course they are accepted. That's not the point, again.
@kirabook You're claiming FS can't transfer credits into or out of a regionally accredited school. This claim is false. I already mentioned neither of my current schools has had trouble accepting each other's credits. You also don't realize that there is MORE THAN ONE regional accreditation agency. If you transfer credits from one regionally accredited school to a school accredited by a different regional accreditation agency, you run into the same issues as nation to regional. Are you done?
@kirabook What you need to do is STOP typing your essay, because it is full of false information. Then you need to either shut up, or listen to people who actually do have the knowledge you pretend to have. Like me. I pointed you to an extensive Full Sail review that covers (and corrects) everything you mentioned. You, who has never been to FS and has no experience, cannot convince me, a FS student, that you know more about FS than I do. So STOP COMMENTING. It's really that simple.
@kirabook There is no misleading happening. Nobody there says your tuition will cost less than $75,000. Nobody there says they're regionally accredited. Nobody there is responsible for your job search after graduation, and nobody there pretends to be (although they have one of the largest career development programs in the nation designed to assist with networking). There is no scamming.
I didn't say they were being mislead in terms of money. They are misleading people in terms of what they can do with their education later. They lead you to believe they are like most "normal" colleges, even having University in their name.
Fact of the matter is, attending FS is not like attending a normal university. Transferring is not like a normal university & trying to continue your education later won't be like continuing your education at a normal university if you go elsewhere.
@WertleWoo What's misleading is that they tell you it's worth 75 grand. You won't ever make more the 35 grand a year as a recording engineer and that's on a really good year. It's just the way it is.
@WertleWoo They take advantage of people that don't understand that a degree is not necessary for this field. The best engineers who work the most in this town are the guys who taught themselves. You don't need to spend 70 grand to learn how to do this. Just put yourself in an environment where your around people you can learn from. It's not very hard.
Whether it was their choice to attend there or not, the fact still stands that the school, just like almost every for profit college, is a lying scam that drag in unsuspecting victims just trying to get an education. I admit my relative was an idiot for attending said school and essentially falling for the scam.
@kirabook What will it take for you to realize that YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FULL SAIL? You go on and on but you DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You never went there. You don't know any real employers. You don't know anything. You just like to hear yourself talk, but you're 100% wrong because YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You claim to know more about Full Sail than me, when I actually go to school there and you don't. Holy shit what is wrong with you? Just give up already.
@kirabook The reason I say you are wrong is because I, unlike you, DO have facts and personal experience. I went to public university. I've worked in the industry. I now have chosen to go back to school to pursue a career change, and guess what school I attend? Full Sail. I know how accreditation works, I know what employers look for and what they don't, and I know how Full Sail works. So do you still want to make your ignorant claims based on hearsay?
I know for a fact for profit school aren't in it for the education or trying to get you a job. All they want is your financial aid and money. They spend so much time lobbying politicians to make sure they can continue their money grabbing ways, tricking hard working people to spend all their money there and not get the experience and jobs.
Compared to attending a normal college, it is less likely a person who attends colleges like ITT Tech or Full Sail will get the job.
@kirabook You're just plain wrong. I can't put it any simpler than that. Not only are you wrong, but you refuse to acknowledge that you don't personally know anything about Full Sail, and that I do. When I correct you, you continue to try to assert knowledge you don't actually have. On top of that, you also don't know anything about employers. I do. Again, you refuse to acknowledge it. You're just a broken record at this point. Solution: stop commenting about things you know nothing about.
The one thing I can say Full Sail is good at is directing students to Sallie Mae. They have an AWESOME Financial Aid department. They have an awesome power to get you the money to attend, even if a typical financial institution would look at you and laugh you out the door.
So don’t worry, if you want to go, you’ll go.

Dear God.

SainteLincoln86 2 weeks ago
@SainteLincoln86 I've been extremely successful since graduating and i have no problem telling people that full sail took advantage of me. When i graduated i was so far behind other graduates from schools that were less then half the price it was ridiculous. They take advantage of 19 year old kids who are bilinde by dreams. Guarantee you that none of the recording arts full sail grads are making 6 figures as well.
crashdog5866 1 week ago
@crashdog5866 I disagree. The Grammy's had nominee's like Rhianna who have Full Sail graduates that worked on her album. They may not make 6 figures, but I guarantee they make a nice bit of money. Again, it is up to the graduate to make the money, Full Sail gives you the tools. I don't expect Full Sail to get me a job, that it my responsibility. I also don't expect to make 6 figures right after graduation either, realistic goals are successful. Naivety is useless.
SainteLincoln86 1 week ago
@SainteLincoln86 Who's being naive? I've been working on in this industry for 8 years and have worked on grammy award winning records. I make the same amount of money that I would working on any other record. When full sail graduates 500 recording arts kids a month and maybe 4 or 5 "Work" on records that get grammy's that's not a good statistic. I think FS has graduated 50,000 students in recording arts since they opened. People i've work on those projects with take 2nd jobs to make ends meet.
crashdog5866 1 week ago

12jmlnv7 2 weeks ago
@12jmlnv7 I don't believe you can be self taught. I just know from real world experience that recording school teacher don't have a clue what they are talking about. You need 2 apprentice & learn that way. You'll have to do it regardless if you go to school or not and it won't cost you anything. Studios and engineers always need help and most of them are willing to spread there knowledge for free. You can't learn from a book, a "teacher", or online. The only way it works is 2 learn in real world

XxZardasxX 3 weeks ago
@XxZardasxX Fair enough but I never said full sail owed me a job. Part of what I paid for was their placement department services and all they gave me was a list of studios and phone numbers. And i'm not exaggerating. From what I understand the game design industry is doing very well right now and full sail is a good investment for that. But in the world of audio it's a different story. FS RA Instructors have very little real world experience most of them are students that got jobs at full sail
RainKingRecording 3 weeks ago

ThkUJesus 3 weeks ago
I went here back in 2005-2007. Biggest regret of my life. I am extremely lucky that I did not have to pay back any student loans though. The RA program is a waste of time. Paying 40K+ for a AA that AT BEST can get you a unpaid internship then if your lucky a job that pays 10h. LMAO
If you didn't do well in high school, you shouldn't go to college. Period. If you really want to go, find a degree in a field with demand, like health care. Study hard to catch up and go to a real college.
WhallonJesse 4 weeks ago
@crashdog5866 If that's the case why do so many ppl say good things about the school?
ThkUJesus 1 month ago
@foolsale And a graduate from fullsail worked on skyrim too so how is the school bad?
ThkUJesus 1 month ago
@ThkUJesus I bet if you look into it some people from the local community collage worked on skyrim too.
crashdog5866 1 month ago
@crashdog5866 Yea, sure they did, because the local community college offers education in the required fields to even get in the door at a game company. Do some research. I have and what I found out is that the degree is secondary to a persons knowledge/talent. You won't learn game design at El Cookaracha Community College.
RuffertoLux069 1 month ago
@ThkUJesus Not to mention on the newest Tranformers movie. One of the lead designers at Riot is a graduate of FS. Two local game companies I interviewed both highly recommended FS, but they both pointed out that portfolio trumps degree every time. People that piss and moan about the school not handing them a 6 figure job on graduation day get no respect from me. I've done the traditional school, have 2 "traditional" degrees, and have no interest in either field. Did it for the money.
RuffertoLux069 1 month ago
@foolsale But why do so many ppl say good things about the school?
ThkUJesus 1 month ago
@ThkUJesus Why do so many people say bad things about full sail? To be honest I don't know of another school out heir that has so may disgruntled students. Their must be a reason for that.
crashdog5866 1 month ago
@crashdog5866 University of Phoenix, AIU, DeVry, etc. Pretty much all For Profit schools get shit on because of their target market. Let's face it, for-profit schools, unfortunately, are the hope for the dregs of society that couldn't pass muster in traditional schools or were too lazy or unplanned to get their degree before they popped out 17 kids. So when they fail at the college or job hunting afterwards too, it's the schools fault, not their own laziness or ineptitude.

12jmlnv7 2 months ago
@12jmlnv7 Well this video is about recording not game design & I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is in the recording world it is impossible to pay off a student loan of full sail's magnitude & actually pressure your dream, especially when other schools charge 1/3 of what full sail costs 4 a better education. The other issue is that when i signed on to full sail they promised me that they would help me get a job. I didn't expect a hand out but I didn't get a lick of help
RainKingRecording 2 months ago

RuffertoLux069 1 month ago
@RainKingRecording I'm sorry you haven't realized your dreams yet. From what little knowledge I do have about the recording industry, it's hard as hell to break into, even with a degree from Harvard School of RapNStuff. As a graduate of FS, what I've been told is that you have lifetime career development available. Since you paid for the degree, have you tried contacting the school again for contacts? It is, after all, ultimately up to you to put your knowledge to use.

its up to you on how ur experience go.not the teachers or cost ur paying to go.its hard to break into the industry bc its really competitive.you have to be a thinker and comming up with new things others might not think of.does dis sound familiar to u?oh it sounds like the people who made the most out of their education and worked hard and beyond and thought ahead of everyone else who went to school and expected a job just like that once they got out.you have to stand out plain and simple.

ppl plz stop bitching about colleges being a scam.college is wut u make of it.the whole point in college is to give you the tools you need to suceed in the industry.not promise you the job placement once you get out.im about to start full sail and im doing game design and i want the proper training so that my portfolio can give me the chance to land a job.i will start lookin for a job months before i graduate and i will constantly improve and go beyond and outdo competition.and thats wut it take
12jmlnv7 2 months ago
I went to Full Sail and it felt like the biggest waste of my time. I think in part it has to do with the "teachers". Granted to lab instructors know what they are doing and I can say I learned a lot from them, but the "teachers" suck. The lady that was supposed to help us make out portfolio never even showed us how to make the resume! If we were in the class 20 min i think it was a lot. And they call it recording arts only to drop the bombshell that it is audio engineering...

This is from musicproduction - quoted.

Example: Studio in Vancouver, nice facility, great ProTools rig, Hammond B3, drum room, control room, full acoustical treatment.

Sucks for you people who can't hack it and look down on full sail, because this learning environment is amazing.
mystereproductionz 3 months ago
@mystereproductionz Wait until you graduate full sail and can't find a job. It's funny how all the full sail kids that are still in school and don't have any real world experience try to bast this video and all the full sail kids who have actual worked in the industry generally agree with me.
RainKingRecording 3 months ago 2
The video is made by someone who thinks it socially acceptable to talk to a professional college rep by saying their name is actually "Dj Crisbix", and he wants to make phat beats. I am suppose to take this seriously? This should be viral why ? Your representation of a serious matter is approached immaturely and lazy. Which I am assuming your "friend" is the same way. And you wonder why he's working at Guitar Center?
fogged2 3 months ago
@fogged2 lol "Dj Crisbix" and his Guitar Center friend are supposed to represent stereotypical Full Sail students, not the video creator himself.

Yeah they have a bad rep, which honestly i fail to understand why? perhaps someone can enlighten me on this??
yoursocool1990 3 months ago
@yoursocool1990 Main Stream Schools That Arn't Expensive 1) Middle TN State University 2)School Of Audio Engineering 3)Conservatory Of Recording Arts 4)LA Recording School 5) Dark Horse Institute 6)TSU I've got a bunch more if you want me to list them. Work your ass off? Wait until you're engineering in the real world. You have to show up the night before and setup until 3 am show up @ 8am to prep for the session then run a session for 8 hours then you have clean up.

@grandchamp8 @RainKingRecording I did look into another school it was CRAS. @1337Tipton My point is if you owe $100000 to a school and only make $20000 a year you can't afford to make anything of your degree. Spend $20000 on a better education and get a real degree from a real university.

They only have some gear knowledge; and very few people skills.
apilover 4 months ago
Maybe in the post world where you sit in a cubicle and edit sports programs all day, it's different. But any audio school is pretty much the laughing stock of the real studio world. I'm sure some kids have lucked up and found their way. But overall, it's just a lot of dreamers thinking they're gonna be in a glamorous setting, then realizing there are engineers already out there with no formal training and just a lot of music knowledge, talent and people skills to compete against.

Lol, you're failure, time to grow up, be a man and deal with the fact that your existence is useless. Full Sail is the bomb - fucking - diggity.
AngrySackBoy 4 months ago
@AngrySackBoy Look at my other videos before you say I don't apply myself. Bottom line is they manipulate people who don't understand what they are dealing with into paying way more for something then it's worth. Sounds like a scam to me.
crashdog5866 4 months ago
@crashdog5866 What you're describing is marketing, which is usually something businesses do. Only stupid people fall for marketing ploys, and Full Sail doesn't need stupid people. Why would they want to sign up someone who is going to fail out after 2 months, as opposed to signing up people who will be able to pass more classes they pay tuition for? Once again, if you don't know what you're talking about, stop talking about it.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo Well a 19 year old kids fresh out of high school are pretty stupid. I don't mean that as a dig I just know I was stupid when I was 19. I didn't have the life experience I needed to make good decisions. As far as full sail needing stupid people you'd have to be pretty stupid to spend 75 grand on something that other charge 20 or 30 grand for. I think full sail needs stupid people. They would sign up people who would fail after 2 month because they will still owe 6 months tuition.
RainKingRecording 4 months ago
It's not a scam because students don't do well and aren't making good grades. It's a scam because after a student works hard and earns their degree, barely any companies or people hiring for jobs will accept their degree and allow them higher pay.
Also if you try to go to a different school and you already have a bachelors, the next school won't accept your first degree and you can't continue onto a Masters degree.
The "paper" you pay for in the end is crap, all they want is your financial aid.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook And exactly what information are you basing this on? Because what you are saying is actually 100% false. Next time, don't comment if you don't know what you're talking about.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
I know this because I have a relative at recently graduated from Full Sail university. He cannot get a job because of his "degree". It's as useless as a normal piece of paper and most of the places he has applied at do not accept his degree for what it is.
And guess what? He's now in dept, and it will take him even longer to repay his dept since he spent all those years paying into something that has literally screwed him over.
I base my information on facts and experience. How about you?
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook So in other words, YOU DON'T KNOW anything. If you have a relative who graduated from Full Sail and can't get a job, it's not because they went to Full Sail. It's for the same reason that people who graduate ANY school can't get a job - they are lazy. Being in debt (not dept) was his CHOICE. Full Sail didn't force it on him. You base your information on speculation and hearsay. Since you don't actually have any facts or personal experience, please stop talking.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
Just like any other silly scam, people fall for it.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook And how would you know this? Do you personally know any human resources representatives for any large-scale companies? Because I do. Oh yeah, and if nobody takes Full Sail seriously, why do I see reps from AMD, ATI, Google, and EA recruiting on Full Sail campus? I never saw them hiring on UF's campus. How can you honestly say Full Sail doesn't prepare students? In my first MONTH of programming at Full Sail I learned more than an ENTIRE YEAR at public university. Scam? LOL.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
You can learn all you want there. I never said the university didn't have good teachers and programs. In fact, I have heard that the education they provide is quite excellent. That's not the point.
It's the ridiculous amount of money they ask for when you can easily go to a real university or community college for the same education. In addition to that, only certain states and businesses accept their degrees since they are accredited by ACCSC.
kirabook 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
They market themselves like any other great University, but they aren't. Students work hard, get the degree they want only to find they can only work in certain places at certain jobs. And if you want to transfer out, good luck finding another college that accepts your credits from there.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook You obviously don't know anything about accreditation.
Go to fullsail, mylittlepwnies, com and read a real review. As far as finding a job? Hah. Go to the freelanceswitch forum and search for "Full Sail," then scroll to Giovanni's post on page 2 for more information about that. Also, would you mind telling me what degree your relative supposedly has? Let me guess, Associates in Recording Arts? Lulz.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
Not all of course.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook No. They. Don't. National vs regional accreditation doesn't matter to employers. How do I know? Because I asked them. When I was getting all the jobs I've had. Also, Game Design is a MASTER's program at Full Sail. Did your friend already have a Bachelor's to transfer into that? Or did they do the Game Development Bachelor's at Full Sail first? Is your friend applying for jobs as a designer? If so, that's stupid. You can't jump straight into being the boss with no experience.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
Even that is not the issue, when it comes down to it, the school needs to make it clear which accreditation they provide.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook If you bothered to read my post, I told you where I got my information. From HR reps I worked next to when I worked in IT. From interviewers at companies I hoped to (and in some cases did) work for. Also, from those reps at AMD, ATI, Google, and EA recruiting from Full Sail's campus that I mentioned earlier. No employers look into accreditation beyond recognition from the Department of Education. If you go to full sail's site, click on "Accreditation" at the bottom and you'll see it.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
Lastly, if you want to continue your education elsewhere, you'll have to start over. Again, transferring national credits to regional credits pretty much never happens. When students enter colleges like Full Sail, they do not understand this, and Full Sail definitely doesn't advertise this. Students trying to get a higher education are inevitably scamed with this "secret". This information out and open. And I do know for a fact when I considered Full Sail, it is definitely not.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook Again, YOU ARE WRONG. I am going to a regionally accredited school at the same time I'm going to Full Sail. Both have no had problems accepting each other's credits. In any case, the problems you cite would happen between two regionally accredited schools if they have different regional accreditation agencies. And yes, Full Sail's website, on their About page, clearly names the ACCSC as their accreditation agency. So, you are wrong on all accounts, again. Stop trying.
WertleWoo 4 months ago

kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook Good. Stop replying. You don't know anything. Realize that already and gtfo clown.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
Oh, I'm so hurt by your words! D8 *not*
Again, Full Sail is a scam, financially.
End of story.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook You are wrong. You just pulled that straight out of your ass. You are just extremely uneducated and ignorant. You also don't know when to close your pie hole. Seriously, learn when you're wrong and learn when to quit.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
*sigh* I do not feel like typing my essay all over again so I'll keep it short and simple.
They display the information on their website. Not in the brochures they hand out in high schools, not on their commercials they display on TV, & their representatives don't tell you their accreditation unless you know to ask.
I was a high school student once. When I was looking into FS, I didn't know to ask that. Neither do most students. The school is great, but the marketing is highly misleading.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook That's not in any school's brochure. Valencia College, UCF, UF, and SMSU are public universities I've had some experience with. Guess what? None of them mentioned their accreditation either. It's just not a talking point. Full Sail is a trade school, and most trade schools are nationally accredited, and the accreditation is recognized by the Department of Education. It's all very standard. It's not a talking point because it's a non-issue. You just sound bitter you can't afford FS.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
That's not the point, again.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook You're claiming FS can't transfer credits into or out of a regionally accredited school. This claim is false. I already mentioned neither of my current schools has had trouble accepting each other's credits. You also don't realize that there is MORE THAN ONE regional accreditation agency. If you transfer credits from one regionally accredited school to a school accredited by a different regional accreditation agency, you run into the same issues as nation to regional. Are you done?

I pointed you to an extensive Full Sail review that covers (and corrects) everything you mentioned. You, who has never been to FS and has no experience, cannot convince me, a FS student, that you know more about FS than I do. So STOP COMMENTING. It's really that simple.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
When you severely mislead someone in that way, it is called a scam.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook There is no misleading happening. Nobody there says your tuition will cost less than $75,000. Nobody there says they're regionally accredited. Nobody there is responsible for your job search after graduation, and nobody there pretends to be (although they have one of the largest career development programs in the nation designed to assist with networking). There is no scamming.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
I didn't say they were being mislead in terms of money. They are misleading people in terms of what they can do with their education later. They lead you to believe they are like most "normal" colleges, even having University in their name.
Fact of the matter is, attending FS is not like attending a normal university. Transferring is not like a normal university & trying to continue your education later won't be like continuing your education at a normal university if you go elsewhere.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook Wrong.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@WertleWoo What's misleading is that they tell you it's worth 75 grand. You won't ever make more the 35 grand a year as a recording engineer and that's on a really good year. It's just the way it is.
RecorderGuy05 4 months ago
@WertleWoo They take advantage of people that don't understand that a degree is not necessary for this field. The best engineers who work the most in this town are the guys who taught themselves. You don't need to spend 70 grand to learn how to do this. Just put yourself in an environment where your around people you can learn from. It's not very hard.
RainKingRecording 4 months ago
@WertleWoo
Whether it was their choice to attend there or not, the fact still stands that the school, just like almost every for profit college, is a lying scam that drag in unsuspecting victims just trying to get an education. I admit my relative was an idiot for attending said school and essentially falling for the scam.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook What will it take for you to realize that YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FULL SAIL? You go on and on but you DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You never went there. You don't know any real employers. You don't know anything. You just like to hear yourself talk, but you're 100% wrong because YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. You claim to know more about Full Sail than me, when I actually go to school there and you don't. Holy shit what is wrong with you? Just give up already.
WertleWoo 4 months ago
@kirabook The reason I say you are wrong is because I, unlike you, DO have facts and personal experience. I went to public university. I've worked in the industry. I now have chosen to go back to school to pursue a career change, and guess what school I attend? Full Sail. I know how accreditation works, I know what employers look for and what they don't, and I know how Full Sail works. So do you still want to make your ignorant claims based on hearsay?
WertleWoo 4 months ago
I know for a fact for profit school aren't in it for the education or trying to get you a job. All they want is your financial aid and money. They spend so much time lobbying politicians to make sure they can continue their money grabbing ways, tricking hard working people to spend all their money there and not get the experience and jobs.
Compared to attending a normal college, it is less likely a person who attends colleges like ITT Tech or Full Sail will get the job.
kirabook 4 months ago
@kirabook You're just plain wrong. I can't put it any simpler than that. Not only are you wrong, but you refuse to acknowledge that you don't personally know anything about Full Sail, and that I do. When I correct you, you continue to try to assert knowledge you don't actually have. On top of that, you also don't know anything about employers. I do. Again, you refuse to acknowledge it. You're just a broken record at this point. Solution: stop commenting about things you know nothing about.
