I think one thing people forget about covers is that they're just a fun way to pay tribute to good songs. Titus Andronicus didn't say "oh we can do the 'Sweater Song' better than Weezer." People are fucking stupid. It's more like "Cassie and I loved this song in high school and so did you and everyone else in this country so let's rip it up."
