Okay I'm having a problem. I downloaded instagram, a popular application, from itunes because that is the only way I could get it on my computer. Then I put it on my desk top and followed all your instuctions. When I pressed enter after the adb install command I got this:

adb server is out of date. killing...

daemon started successfully *

file 'c:users\steph\desktop\instagr­am' does not contain AndroidManifest.xml

What does this mean?

i need help, i typed cd\android-sdk-windows\tools and it says that the system cannot find the path specified. what do i do?

Once 'adb devices' returns well then first 'cd' yourself to the directory on your computer where you have the file and then enter 'adb install thisisthenameoftheapp.apk'. It should return 'Success'.

Entering the name of the file surrounded by quotes is unnecessarily passing a string value to the adobe debug bridge.

You don't have to enter any quotes. Just:

> adb devices

should return something under 'list of devices attached' besides a blank line, like '1234567890ABCDEF device' or something. If it's blank then you either need to install drivers or install/repair adb installation. Often Windows fails to unmount usb when you disconnect the phone, so you may need to restart to get your computer to recognise your phone.... *next post*

hi i tried this and it work. thanks man. :) but i have a problem. when i tried fastboot in my htc magic this doesnt work. it says "fastboot' is not recognized as a internal or external command.. how can i fix it. can u help me please. thanks again :)
