  • J.Page is the Lord of the Strings.

  • @chambyhabs she is not the wife of Robert Plant, She is married to Gary Lucas

  • @abhishek123nag

Do you know any more about her as she is great.

  • @kathmandoo check her wikipedia page, search as NAJMA AKHTAR

  • This song want me to fight on the Pelennor's Field.

  • thats where is got oh well from lmao

  • Jawdropping ! its hypnotic and the scales are amazing wow !!!!!!

  • I saw PAGE/PLANT Friday June 9th 1995 in Marseille and Saturday november 28th 1998 in Toulon - France! Two days will remains in my memory forever! It was the first time they came in France since 1973! Now i can to die!

  • Absolutely amazing- this song sends me into some weird sort of trace.

The support band and singer were very complimentary to Plant and Page.

  • najma akhtar just kills it here!

  • 9 dislikes ... ??? i dont get them..

  • Who's that Indian Lady?

  • @abhishek123nag The lady in Battle of Evermore is Najma Akhtar...hope this helps....bear in mind this was 1994....Greets from the UK.

  • @BobCoxUK i must say , what a mesmerising voice!

  • @abhishek123nag I think she's the wife of Robert Plant. I'm not sure... hell of a performance. Give me chills everytime. My favorite piece of Led Zep.

  • The song's great, but I do miss John Paul Jones.

  • Feel good when I hear this song. Love..love..

  • Love , Love , Love Robert PLant

  • Robert Plant is genius

  • holy shit, this gave me goosebumps.

  • Just goes to show that the language of music is truly international.

  • masterclass composery

  • Zep have always been SOLID ,,RIP John ,, brilliant ,deep and fkn COOL

  • fukin brilliant

  • The Triple-neck. Pagey doesn't fuck around.

  • The singer, Najma Akhtar is amazing. I think I like this version more than the original. It's more emotional for some reason to me.

  • Songs like this make me want to live forever!!

  • @bakeruk87 you said the right thing......... we want to live forever as a prisoner into this amazing melody :-)

  • The female singer is Najma Akhtar, quite a different vocalist to the original accompanist; Sandy Denny

  • Robert Plant and Jimmy Page > Axl Rose and Slash

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful!

  • Honestly...who cares who else is on that stage or whether you like the woman singer or the percussionist or not. It's JIMMY PAGE and ROBERT PLANT.....the rest of them or just window dressing for the Gods.

  • mystical!! - remnants of the great chess match in the heavens. The Prince of Peace vs The most glorious and beautiful angel... Lucifer (the deceiver) Throw to earth in the fight against Micheal (the Archangel)--- The end time is truly upon us!

  • thank you for this s

  • this is mind bogglingly special

  • Brings tears to my eyes. A revelation in music. Beautiful.

  • Respects to Porl Thompson of The Cure on acoustic guitar.

  • This is an awesome version of the classic. My only criticism would be that the female vocalist, who indeed adds a haunting and excellent quality to the music, only sings half of her lyrics. Perhaps this is due to her vocal style drawing out the lyrics she does sing, but for reasons of nostalgia I'd still prefer to hear the entire lyrical arrangement.

  • @Amberscion

    Agree 1,000%.

She is a great dynamic addition to this performance. However, I feel like I only am hearing half the story.

  • @Amberscion I felt the same man! good to know im not the only one

  • Damn....It just don't get any better than this.

  • This song gives me goosebumps from its pure awesomeness Led Zeppelin and Lord of the rings forever

  • love this sounds like a qwalian>

  • EXCELLENT!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!

  • @WeHaveInsomnia Yeah..

  • Fantastic...

  • The female singer doesn't really match Sandy Denny but it's an estimable cover all the same!

  • 1:12

"I'm not sure why they wanted me to yell this random nonsense into the microphone but all these white people sure do seem to like it."

  • 0:45

Robert Plant - Hair = Bruce Willis?

  • make sex with a woman like that must be crazy =D

  • Where did they find a traditional artist interested in doing their music? This is just so amazing!

  • She is so awesome!!! Really adds something to this song. I am a Page fan but I have to admire Robert Plant's ability to keep up and use all of his vocal abilities and timing. Awesome on all of their parts!!!

  • No need to skip the whole video is amazing!

  • dont hate ,shes good, maby the world would be a better place, peace people

  • dudes no offense, i can't bear the thought of pressing the dislike button on a zeppelin video, but this just makes me sick. i usually love eastern influences but this WOMAN - make it stop, it's fuckin horrible!!! DAHNCASADAKAAAHNAAAAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAHT!!!!!!!

  • @MasslRockss hehe music taste is something strange/funny... While you didn't like (and i respect it, don't worry) the back vocal, first time i've heard this version of Battle of Evermore i got stunned, and since when, it's my favorite version of this. Oh, let's just point that Zeppelin is my fav band, being the best rock'n'roll band on history, within this song being my pick as top top :P

  • she's just singing OHHH over half of the lyrics lol

  • voodoo music

  • Un tema para la primera mañana de diciembre

  • Hey... When's the only time you can pee on a persian womans face?

When her mustache is on fire

  • Between Jimmy's mandolin and the Egyptian ensemble this is is so AWESOME!!!!! The different scales are so incredible. I am really inspired and moved!!

  • I prefer this version

  • whats the wind up instrument

  • @crustlessraptor49 its a Hurdy Gurdy

  • RIP Sandy.

  • @amacka04 yes it is!!!

  • Why dispaarage something good. Most people thru most of time have believed in a god. That doesn't make it true,I know.If you don't believe, accept that from the best part of Christian heritage sprang the freedom to have such things as these "Led Zeppeli" you speak of,and this strange wonder device of music and learning

  • Robert had a short relationship with the woman for awhile :) He can get anybody

  • @haynamarshall

haha i knew it when i saw them smiling at each other ! :D

  • Could anyone please tell me what the instrument is that is being played at 0.14??? its incredible! Thank you x

  • @amacka04 I believe it's a hurdy gurdy...

  • It sounds really good.

And for all you idiots below: there is no god

  • @Asasellobulgakov just calling in names shows your level of ''education''

  • Why didn't they use this song in Lord of the Rings during the battle scenes?

  • what's her name? didn't get it...

  • wau

  • Vielen Dank George!

    Thumbs up.

    Greetings

    George [Souls]

  • The funny thing is that two people are talking about the songs refrence to God and i fact they are both silly. What if there is no God? I used to believe in Santa Clauss then I developed logic and reason. You two should do the same.

  • How I wish their spellbinding music was ushering in the real Prince of Peace. As it is, I am afraid their heartfelt, musical devotion to Allah is preparing the hearts of many who will welcome the Mahdi of Islam who will take many with him to a path of darkness where tomorrow is promised to no one. And yet, forgiveness stands knocking at the gates of their hearts, just as it does to every one who has eyes to see. May God give them sight.

  • @Uluwatusunrise:Obviously you´re confusing your narrow-minded "view of god" with the rest of the world, which lives in harmony with god´s will.I wouldn´t call you evil, you´re just silly & envious of other people who have such big talents of music making. God does not judge about the arts, god is also not obsessed or occupied with the world, god is a peaceful caretaker + knows that hating + intolerant people like you will punish themselves in the end. Why do you hide your channel? Very cowardly!

  • @MrSKINFLICK Travel the ghettos of NYC or pause long enough to become aware of how many times you have violated your own conscience and you will know that the world within and the world without is not "in harmony" with God. If a doctor told a patient dying from heroin addiction that he was in perfect shape, he would judge the patient incorrectly and cost him his life. "Love may forgive all infirmities and love still in spite of them: but Love cannot cease to will their removal." ~Brother Jack

  • Is this brilliant work about a matter from The Lord of the Rings or is it double entrendre? The last time I checked my Bible "The Prince of Peace" was not Frodo, he was and is King Jesus. Is this of Armageddon?

Jimmy and Robert and brilliant in every way. May they soon come to the prince of peace, who is returning as the Lion of The Tribe of Judah.

Fr. Nathan Brooks+ Missionary Order of St. Thomas More (to prisoners)

  • My favorite tune off Led Zepp lV. Good for the Shire of Hobbitville.

  • oh my god.... i am a lifelong fan, and this is among my top favorite Zep songs, but this woman ruined it for me.... she sounds like a warbling cat in heat... :( ....this makes me very sad.... *weep*

  • @MGMLioness agreed.

  • Awesome effin' arrangement! Almost better than the original ... love Page's instrument.

  • why would they have left out John Paul Jones

  • @DoMinC246 If you heard Jones sink this song with Plant, you'd know why.

  • was @ the Detroit show, was so cool to hear this version, perfect intro to stariway on the album

  • The middle eastern twist to this magical piece is mezmerizing.

  • I'm so glad they kept this song alive in their repertoire during this era. It's such a magical song. I love the 77 versions, even with John Paul Jones singing - whatever he lacked in vocal chops, his English voice gave it kind of a medieval campfire feeling, which is perfect for the song. And yet the Eastern flavor works so well, too. Those who like Jimmy's Eastern-influenced acoustic work might like a vid I recently posted: "Rosetta West -Yallah."

  • Queen of Light? No! Prince of Peace? Noo!! Angels of Avalon? Come on!!! Dark Lord? Yes! Tyrant? Yes, yes, yess! :P

  • What a cool live performance of this song, the middle eastern ensamble to it is very cool and Page is sporting a hell of a nice guitar..

  • Her style of singing is more Indian Classical singing, as she is born in England to Indian Immigrants.

  • She is exactly what this song needed. It's hard to imagine what might be missing until you hear it sometimes.

  • I like the camera angles as well as the song, able to see the instruments and see everyone well. thanks for posting

  • GENIOS!!!

  • thank you so much for this upload!

  • perfection!

  • I miss Sandy Denny but this will do!

  • the eastern twist of the female vocalist works really well!

  • Yay for Zeppelin and Tolkien.

  • @SatansMinion96 Middle East scales own and play a big role in metal lead guitars....ex: Alex Skolnik

  • @SurfThrashGuitar Why talking about metal?

  • @Pismenost it was in response to another comment, wtf you offended or something?

  • @SurfThrashGuitar Of course not. I'm just curious why are the people talking about shit on this song.

  • @Pismenost oh, lol, he claimed he didnt like middle eastern music, so i just gave him an example of middle eastern music in todays music

  • @SurfThrashGuitar Thanks for replying back, now I'm listening to this again. Haha.

  • WOW

  • Mideast, Paskistani, Indian?, Egyption?, English, Orchestra, and Led Zeppplin! All things of beauty.

  • I was one of the first of my teenage friends to buy their first LZ album, & at this point have everything LZ & both Plant & Page have ever made, together & apart. One of my deepest regrets is that I have not seen them in concert, it is actually right at the top of my "bucket list." I am so grateful for youtube, as I can actually watch them play, & do for hours on end. Love Plant. Jimmy, you are truly one of the bright stars in this world- The powers that be broke the mold when they made you.

  • hurdy gurdy!!!!!!

  • I believe the female singer is a UK born woman of Pakistani decent named Najma Akhtar.

  • @adamjames43 I think you are right and I do believe she and Robert Plant were seeing each other during this tour too...

  • @adamjames43 Her parents were Indian immigrants to UK. not pakistani...

  • @adenois80 Actually her parents were Pakistani....you can say Indian as once India and Pakistan were the same country, however if you'd like to take the actual borders they have now....her parents were strict Pakistani Muslims. You can see her biography below.

  • 9 people just don't get it!

  • I love listening to the various versions of this LD song. It's pretty neat to incorporate the orchestra much like the Moody Blues. The singer is exotically beautiful as is her voice.

  • I have this concert on dvd but haven't watched it in sometime. Glad I found this today. . .incredible version of this song.

  • q hermosura esto es musica q hermosas voces

  • I think this version is quite impressive. Sometimes change can be a interesting thing. And say what you will about the woman singing, the woman has some serious control of her voice. I thought she did a great job.

  • Friday night 10yrs ago i saw a tall man with a big blond curly hair walking alone in the door of one hotel in my hometown Bergen. Wtf,, was it...?and i ran after him. Hey mister, and he turned and there stood the singer of my fav youth band, mr.Plant in front of me. I dint know he was in town and he kindly told me he was with Krauss i think. And we chatted a little bit and i got his autograph. My day was made man!!!

  • Triple neck?!?! My mind=BLOWN!!!
