It's a band. They made music. The music is well respected by many little social niches, not just 'hipster's which isn't even really a social niche anyway.

there isn't really any reason to do this but somebody has to say: this album doesn't need any more shit, genres, mythology, or sweaters attached to it. ever. anything anyone says about music just boxes it into traps of obscure nonsense. listen to the album, maybe read some stuff with the creators involved; but none of the "indie" "elephant psych" or whatever--"fuzz folk" was as far as they ever went with a genre. there's a lot of honesty, wordplay, and a complete indifference to the "hip".
