  • crap! what version of excel is this? 1980?

  • Excel IS Hell, my friend! I like how you threw that in there. I really appreciate your in-depth explanation of How, as well as WHY, everything worked the way it did! I've been using a lot of Vlookups, and needed a reversed perspective on the method to see if I could utilize it in some way. I'm working on figuring out how to combine V and H lookup functions, inside a conditional IF scenario to yield certain text results in the cells that qualify. Perhaps you could help me with this? Please

  • You explain this very well. Thank you!

  • Lets say I have 3 sheets: Sheet 1 (numbers), Sheet 2 (characters), Sheet 3 (total).

I am trying to take data from sheet1 and pass it to sheet 3 on cell A1 through E1

Next I want to pass the data from sheet 2, on to sheet 3, rows A2 through E2

I am trying to set the function in the cells in sheet 3, so that when the user types their data, it is automatically posted. Any suggestions?

  • Thanks.

It is very useful for me.

    Thanks again.

  • giving up a free video, then at the same time alienating g people with your greed (OH GO TO MY SITE), really leaves people not wanting to bother with your vidoe on youtube, neither in stupid site.

  • Thank you man... It helped me a lot...!!!!!

  • That was an excellent lesson! Thank you so much!

  • How can you drag it to other boxes without changing the numbers

if i have this code "=Hlookup(J2;B1:H2;2;True)" in box J1, then try to copy the code to K1 it then becomes (K2;C1:J2;2:True) so its using a different array. any clues how to sort it out?

  • @niaalll put dollar signs in front of what you don't want to change A1 -> $A$1 - it's called absolute cell references

  • @ExcelisHell Thanks :)

  • @ExcelisHell now what if I want the ROW # to change when I drag it to other boxes... so using the example, if I have several years' worth of data that extend past Jan/Feb/March? If you drag it, the row # stays the same. But if I have a lot of data it's way too difficult to change it manually for each box.
