If you have a mechanical heart valve and the noise keeps you awake at night - but you DON'T want to use drugs or narcotics to sleep - you can purchase a non-addictive inexpensive, psychoacoustic audio recording titled "Heartbeat River" at cdbaby.com
i had severe rhumatic mitral valve and had it replaced dec 15th.at st francis hospital in indy.plus maze on a fib.they did a terric job.healing nicely.i had no choice but to replace not repair.downside have to take coumidin(blood thinner) the rest of my life.ty for this video
i had open heart surgery in 1985 at upmc in pittsburgh by Dr. Bartley P. Griffith... i had a mitral and aortic artificial heart valves.... take care everybody! timalan63
I think that surgery is better than heart replacement. Just imagine the amount of immunosupressant drugs you will take for your body not to reject the implant. Not to mention lifestyle changes =p
@zwitlipz i had relacement dec 15th . not really scared cause you wake up sore of course but not too bad. after 2 weeks i was sore but back to norm lol.hope you do well. reposr when its done.replacement is netter anyway. will last the rest of your life where repair usally needs redone in 7 to 10 yrs
I like the way you describe the procedure. My fiance has two leaflets, not three on one of her valves. She had a tumor around the valve and the heart was only able to grow two
