I'm so Jealous. Dara is a comic genius, my favourite comic in the world at the moment, no exaggeration. I love his 'improv stuff' where he just talks to the crowd, and involves them in his show, he's just so natural at it. As for the swearing.. He's Irish... To me an Irish accent doesn't sound right if there's not a bit of swearing in it. Not only that but he never uses it as an insult, but to emphasize points in passing. What's good about it is that the focus is not on swearing.F-kin Hilarious!

And as for Jimmy Carr, it's a different sort of humour. Jimmy Carr is actually a very witty man, with the ability to create amazing one liners and cut down hecklers, but unfortunately he's fallen into the 'scripted' category a bit too much. So it seems a bit too planned sometimes... Dara on the other hand... just wow.

I'm seeing him in May. Saw him in 2006 - easily the funniest stand-up I've ever witnessed. The man is a genius. Okay, he does swear a bit, but I honestly didn't notice. It's just accentuating what he's saying - whereas, say, Jimmy Carr will say F and C purely to get a reaction from the crowd. (Saw Jimmy live - not impressed at all. Lowest common denominator stuff. Dara = better.)

Did anyone else see his 2006 tour? (Or own the DVD, which was slightly less good than the show I saw, sadly.)

I totally agree with you about Jimmy Carr, O'Briain on the other hand is fantastic and as far as I'm concerned his swearing doesn't detract from his jokes in the slightest.

I saw him last weekend in Liverpool and he was superb, he spoke to me during his routine in fact :p.
