  • howd you tune this?

  • @misterdoogals Tight on both sides without choking the drum.

  • How come the sound of the recording is so good?

What mics did you use apart from the 57 you have on the snare?

  • @willoke8 The camera mic, an Audo Technica 4050, a Sterling Audio ST79.

  • i really like this one!

  • I love sound of your Ludwig drum. Your playing is exquisite....ala Stewart Copeland!!! I have aSunlite metal picolo 3 x 14. It has 12, 12 lugs. If any one is interested, contact me.

  • Dude you sound like Stewart Copeland! Well done! Like you bell work and splash! Nice!!!

  • sounds soooo nice, tempted to buy one now :P

  • sounds like xavier fisher trio's drumss .... exelente :)

  • dude i have the same exact snare!! i love it

  • primus

  • i have this exact snare

i use an evans genera hd dry head tuned moderately high with a plastic ring on top

    sounds pretty good

  • wow, great job.. a whole solo to show off the drum, done exelent! any ways... my friend is seling one, looks to be maple... he got it as a hand-me down from another friend of his in band atschool. its in good condition but has no makings telling what it is, the skin says ludwig so im guessing the drumm is. hes selling it for 25$ with the stand. should i buy it? my style is more red hot chili pepers then anything elce. (if that helps at all)

  • RHCP is usually a 5 x 14 steel snare.

$25 is a good deal however.

  • @zeptimp thanks for the help.

  • Very coppeland o even alex gonzalez. Nice drumming!

  • Just imagine that baby with a aquarian hi energy snare head:)

  • @XAPPLEgatorX41 or a evans HD dry head :) this is my snare on my set

  • @Dakota9851 a dry snare, cant think of any great other uses for them except for punk lol

  • @XAPPLEgatorX41 i play greenday blink 182 sum 41 and like a7x so

  • @Dakota9851 to bad music basically died after the 90s, but thank god we have good bands still touring today like green day the offspring and such

  • @XAPPLEgatorX41 exuse me, green day is not a good band.

  • @dunnsky9 we all have our personal opinions dude, but they were good back in the dookie days

  • @XAPPLEgatorX41 i dont like them now but dookie and nimrod were great and my drums i have ALL EVANS i hate remo

  • @Dakota9851 true that lol

  • @Dakota9851 by the way lets just be realistic about green day, say if you 38 with a wife and children, do you really want to be singing about drugs and masturbation? i wouldn't.

  • @XAPPLEgatorX41 never said i would like to sing about it just i dont like how they pussed out

  • @Dakota9851 i feel the same way, i wish i could see them perform their older songs but they would probably never would

  • i love it!

  • I love piccolo snare drums & am the proud owner of a Pearl 3" X 13" steel shell piccolo snare that I bought in 2002. I use it to play certain 1990s alternative rock songs.

  • can u get a piccolo snare at guitar center?

  • Yes they have all sorts.

  • is it good as a secondary snare left of the hihat?

  • @DylanSmith1997 Sure, I have set it up that way before.

  • @zeptimp would u say its a better primary or secondary? also awesome playing :)

  • @DylanSmith1997 Thanks. I have used it as either one.

It can sound deeper than it is if you tune it down. Versatile drum.

  • I'm going to raid your house and steal this snare drum from you. Also, I'll probably shit on your couch and touch your children just to piss you off.

  • @brady5991 Sorry

    I pressed the wrong button.

Im sure you could find a stave piccolo shell.

Segmented shell would also be similar.

  • @zeptimp oh ok :P i was just wondering because i dont wanna waiste my oney on something that would never work :D

  • could you make a stave piccolo snare i was gunna make a 14x8 snare and a 13x3 snare just didnt know if you can make a piccolo snare or not stave wise

  • great sound. both the drums and the drummer.

  • This is what the rev used! :(

  • why are you holding the left stick like that?

  • copeland? parece...

  • I got one of these at a garage sale for $5. STEAL!

  • @adamsfall

    You F ' n lucky B^%$#@d !!!!

  • @zeptimp That's how it is in Juneau Ak. When people move away, they practically give their possessions away because it is so expensive to move. One guy was selling a $4,000 kit with cymbals for about $300.00. Missed that one, though.

  • @restatetheobvious Yes ! I've bought an SM 57 week, and i love this mic too !!!!

  • this is a great snare. i've used it and was very happy with it

  • I got this snare too but seldom used it. Your video inspired me to take it out and paly it more oftenly and now I love it!

  • Is there a Shure SM 57 microphone ? I'm now looking for a microphone for recording my piccolo snare (Pearl 13x3")

  • Yes it is the classic snare mic. BUT you should

always use it with a second "room" mic that is not

so close to the snare because by itself IMHO when

when people just use the SM57 and no other mic

to blend it with it sounds terrible.

  • But what type of ludwig piccolo is it, how much, and where did you get it?

  • Hey, what model and brand are you using implanning to buy a piccolo snare nd it sounds awesom :)

  • @lilromeo200789 All the information is in the video.

  • @zeptimp But what type of ludwig piccolo snare is it and where did you get it?

  • @zeptimp But what type of ludwig piccolo is it and where did you get it nd how much?

  • Your freakin legit, i just started playing drums this year... how long did it take you to get to where you are now.

  • I started in high school and by the time I was out I could do these Stewart Copeland

type things. But I have been playing more than 20 years now and I am just starting to learn how to solo comfortably. It might sound like a cliche but relaxation is the key.

  • i love your snare!! how much does it coast??

  • Oops, I meant want.

  • Sounds great. I have a similar Pearl 13x3 maple snare. You make me wnat to use it again.

  • sweet shit..

  • Sounds great! :D

  • Damn. Nice sounding snare, better playing. Love your little hihat rolls :D

  • someone likes stewart copeland??? :-)

  • Yeah! its good stuff. goes down nice.

Wouldn't call myself stewtimp or polictimp,

but its not bad. : >)

  • agreed

  • nicee

  • Thanks dude.

  • i didnt know ludwig made these

  • @fluffyninjas dude ludwig makes everything

  • i have this snare drum

  • i wanna get one like this cept its a pearl free floater.

  • Those are good snares.

  • this is a very cool video! i enjoyed it very much. the execution of your playing was very tight and you make it sound very well orchestrated. two thumbs up. keep on rockin

  • Thank you for the kind words.

  • why do you have your sticks different?

  • When you turn the stick that plays the snare drum around,

The cross-stick and the backbeat can sound a little fuller.

Because the butt end is the heavy part of the stick.

  • that sounds amazin,g how much did you get that for?

  • Thanks, in 1992 it was less than $200. Thats all I remember.

  • Nice

  • Thanks
