  • looks fun

    if you're half walrus...

  • I'm curious at 4:00 if thats wood or stones that look round & have a circular hole?

  • after hiking this in the summer and found it stressful enough its amazing to see people wanting to hike it in the summer. Good job

  • i did it in 2009 and it was an amazing hike definitely want to do it again sometime

  • I hiked it in closed in feb or march 1981 and open in aug 2007. Both hikes were fine. The only people we ran into in 81 was a 15 person group of the Victoria Runners Club. They were doing it it one day. In 07 Ray Zahab stood out from the masses of hikers as he too ran it in a day.

  • the hike is 47 miles long?? :D i dont care what month or time of year it is! thats a freaking day hike!! as far as backpacking trips go... try the pct in under 4 months ;) THAT is a hike! Im going to attempt to do the PCT in 2 1/2 months that makes for a 35 mile a day hike, EVERY day for 75 days! trail is 2688 miles! get at it!

  • Bahah this video makes me laugh.

I can frequently be seen on this trail during the 'heavy' winter months. Find me sipping a cup of tea beneath the thick forest canopy, crumpets in hand.

  • @r32adt3db and cock in moth

  • Haha, WEST COAST TRAIL IS HARDCORE.

Comon man, don't take yourself so seriously.

  • Have YOU done it? In winter? Then shut up.

  • Yeah I have. This guy is a joke though, look him up.

  • nice vid. seems like it was really tough. I heard someone say a senior citizen could do this trail and i hope thats not true cuz im going it in about 8 days and i want a challenge dammit!

  • At least you were with two girls to keep you warm hehehe

  • Thats the only way to hike the West Coast Trail in the winter. Off Season.

  • crazy

  • Haha, cool trip but not as hardcore as you are pitching it.

  • I beg to differ. One slip and we would have been in a world of hurt. With search and rescue mad as hell.

  • have you hiked the trail?

  • Yes, many people have drowned swimming Nitnat Narrows. Not recommended. All of the boardwalks were like ice (slippery) too.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't see any senior citizens in the water as I swam the Nitinat Narrows in January.

  • You are misrepresenting this trail. A senior could hike this this trail if they were fit, healthy, and knowledgeable. These requirements are true for everyone. The WCT is not a walk in a city park.

  • very cool video...if i go i think ill try it in summer though...

  • Good idea. Hiking the West Coast Trail in the winter is against the law, or at least, against the rules.

  • you mean you did the hike without cable cars? that's the best part! ;-) next time do it by yourself, without any help, that's the test of true survival! :))

  • No, we hiked the west coast trail using the cable cars. But, the one over the Walbran River was decommissioned, so we had to wade that freezing cold water.

  • It does not look that hard ! especially if a woman can do it !

  • The west coast trail in the winter had challenges, but much of it was easy. Sure, you too could hike the west coast trail.

  • You 3 ROCK! Janna loves cold weather.

  • That's why she's in Norway.

  • You 3 ROCK ! Janna must love the cold.

    R.

  • Yup. The water was cold! But the rest of the hike of the West Coast Trail was not too bad. Warm fires at night!
