  • can anyone tell me where /who does the "the world can't do me no harm" at the end?

  • It just made me cry, Its time yo wake, time to share all about God has for us

  • QUE TEMA TAN BUENOOOO¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ MUCHO TIEMPO SIN ESCUCHARLO...

  • And let's not get into how Hollywood unrealistically portrays both men, but esp. women as always super attractive fit and young. Talk about creating unrealistic expectations in people. Then it still shows those same people eating at unhealthy food joints as if they could maintain a body eating that kind of food or living that kind of lifestyle. We have become very obsessed. We have become a nation that worships entertainment.

  • i would like to address both of the guys that are commenting on about homelessness, and helping people... look guys, what they are singing about in this song is bout the best way you can put it... we have become self indulgent people... about 20 months ago i was a homeless kid, adn i was only 19 at the time... i've seen the face on the other side of that wall... the government can't help and can't change it... its up to us as christians to reach, and reach back to help EVERYONE... we all need it

  • this song is awesome and touches my heart so profoundly it aches all the more for the Lord's return; it speaks the truth about the very heart of man, especially lately; whisperingdeath308 is right; people care more for animals and other things than they do their fellow human beings, so much so that theyre willin to kill for them; the world really is degenerating and reachin its end

  • Chills---What about love? What about God?

  • Love it!!!!!!but the Rosie part was VERY amotional

  • I just want to know what the gospel song at the end is!!!!

  • This song is flat out wrong. We have more humanity today than ever. We aren't degenerating, we are becoming more empathetic through the interconnectedness of technology. In their defense, this was pre-internet and smart phones. But still, I wonder what part of our history they are comparing when they say "What have we become"? How were we better before? We were worse in every possible way.

  • @mattchuuu1 I disagree, humanity is humanity, and no amount of technology changes that. Ppl still fear and hate others for no reason other than they're different, still walk past dying ppl on the street and don't help, and still think mostly of themselves. In some ways though, we've become even more selfish than before.

  • What? How many dying people do you have on your streets? And sure, there's racism, but, to borrow the song's title, look at what we've become! America has gone from our founding presidents purchasing black people, to now a black person elected President. We've seen the rise of nonviolent civil disobedience. People of different races and sexual orientations have more acceptance and openness about who they are than ever. Give me any statistic that shows we have degenerated in our morality.

  • @mattchuuu1. I know a lot of people dying on the street. I work w/ soup kitchens, homeless shelters, & hospitols to help people. I see people starving & little kids out selling drugs for money, the homeless & the mentally ill being beaten or ridiculed, but not helped. It used to be that if you needed help, the church or even other non christian people would help you. Now most people have the attitude of "It's not my business." or "I gotta look out for myself.", & don't help them.

  • @zkai5 Kudos to you. I have also helped with a local homeless shelter, and given money to homeless people. You seem to contradict yourself saying that they are not helped when clearly you and the people you have worked with ARE helping them. Why ignore that? I've never met a person who said "Its not my business, I gotta look out for myself." What I hear is "They are usually homeless because they are mentally ill and I don't know how to help." That is a big job that a city govt should address.

  • @mattchuuu1 I'm not contradicting myself. I choose to help people yes, but many others don't help. In the past there was more community involvement & people looking out for each other; now there is much less of that & more self focus. Despite what many people want you to believe, they only really look out for themselves. Every city is different though, & I may be generalizing based on my own experiences; so I could be wrong, but then again, so could you. I usually hear "It's not my business...".

  • @mattchuuu1 yes we've come far, & some issues are handled differently, but they're still very much there. As for degenerating morality, how have you not noticed the worldwide rises in crime, prejudice, political corruptness, open sin & immorality, & blatent attacks against Christians? It's everywhere; turn on the T.V. or listen to the radio, walk down the hallways of a highschool, take a walk in the city, or just listen to people & politicians talk. Stats aren't needed- life speaks for itself.

  • @zkai5 Stats are absolutely needed if you are saying point B (now) is worse than point A (when?). Otherwise your guess is as good as mine. Look at the Bureau of Justice Statistics and you'll see a sharp decline in in crime over the past 20 years. "Blatant attacks" against Christians? What kind of attacks? I hear of people vehemently disagreeing with Christians who try to push it into government policies, but that's democracy and a beautiful war of ideas. Cheer up! Its a great time to be alive!

  • @mattchuuu1 I know this is old but we have def degenerated in our morality. A lot of is because of Hollywood. People are celebrity obsessed. Let's face it; Hollywood helped encourage racism (cowboys vs Indians, Natives as bad guys; I haven't watched documentaries on how if affected African Americans but I'm sure it's there). Society is sexually saturated, shows and movies portrays the single guys that sleeps around with hot chicks as badass while marriages always fall apart. Men who show

  • @kolaida devotion to one woman is seen negatively as "tied down." Women are essentially either eye-candy or portrayed doing things that are incredibly unrealistic. Moms are always shown as tired, weary, and run-down, rarely happy. Married couples are portrayed as sexually starved because they're fires gone out. Music generally encourages people to drink and have sex in the name of "fun." And money? Isn't that what most people are living for nowadays? We've made some steps forward in LESS

  • @kolaida racism, but it's a shame to have even bought and sold people based on color (even the Bible denounces this practice of slavery). And the Bible records Moses' wife, Zipporah, as a black woman. Her father, Jethro, was the first non-Jewish man to worship with the Jews in the temple. The only place we've gone forward in is civil rights, we have backslid in so many areas. We worship celebrities and that's the worst thing. Bizarre how people can be racist and homophobic using the Bible...

  • @kolaida But the thing that always seemed to upset God the most was idolatry. And here we are worshipping money, sex, clubs, alcohol, even music, fast food, and, most of all, celebrities. While people starve and become emotionally damaged. But the mindset today is we should all pat ourselves on the back because the US finally granted blacks and women some civil rights? And let's not even get into how unfair those rights actually are. Anyway, just saying. Hah, I replied to myself! True song.

  • Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

  • those of the world are blind to the love of Christ unless He reveals it to them.

  • lyrics 2:01 - 2:36 is like the jonbenet case,,, 3:52 - 4:03 to all who feel lost in faith! i the jesus freak album

  • This is a great song, it hits on what I've been thinking lately. We pass by a homeless man on the streets and nobody will give him money. Nobody really gives to charity anymore. There are many more abused kids than you think, and many runaways, and broken families. And nobody cares about anybody. We go after the things we think will make us happy, like that new video game or car, but after we've gotten it we're still sad. I look at all this and I think, dear God, what have we become???

  • This is such a powerful song with a powerful message.

  • everyday i see people argueing smoking drinking and wasting their lives away. its so sad to look at :(. i want people to know christ not matter what it might cost me. so i'm going to tell people about him and his love for us. he saved me why wouldn't he save others. i might be 13 but i can make a difference in my neiborhood and at my sports and all that!

  • The lyrics from 1:39 through 1:52 are what Satan wants us to think and feel, if you ask my opinion.

  • indeed, what have we become? a world where evil seems to reign. but you know what? GOD IS ON THE THRONE!!! Amen.

  • In retrospect, this is my favorite D.C. Talk song, and probably the only one that has even more significance now that I'm no longer a Christian than it had while I still thought I was Christian.

  • @Islander255 what made you not be a Christian any more, if I may ask? :)

  • @VideoKiwi2008 Many things. I stopped being a Christian because I didn't identify with the Evangelical types I grew up with--the ones who were ashamed of their own bodies, locked in a private white-rich-Christian world, ones who claimed to be better than the rest of the world, yet really looked down on everyone else. After I separated from them and looked at the Bible from a critical viewpoint, I realized there's other ways of interpreting than doing it literally...

  • @VideoKiwi2008 ...ways that would let me follow logic instead of ridiculous ideas like evolution being false in face of all the evidence for it, or ideas like ignoring so many "rules" in both the Old and New Testaments, yet latching onto six verses against homosexuality and claiming it's a "religious belief." But then I came to realization that I wasn't religious at all. So now I'm a religious ally to those willing to accept others, but I'm not part of any religion.

  • @Islander255 why does everyone think christianity is all "do this" or "dont do this" christianity is a relationship with god, the "do's" and "don'ts" are simply rules that god has set up to protect us from ourselves! weve been told NOT to do something by our creator, christians love (phileo- brotherly love) homosexuals enough to tell them to stop doing what they are doing, or they will go to HELL, we dont want them to go to hell! thats the point of telling them they are wrong!

  • @TheZayin77 The real truth is you simply aren't comfortable with gay people, as much as you'd like to convince yourself that you are and that you love them. You just stick with the interpretation that you grew up with (that it's somehow sinful and unnatural) because you can't bring yourself to change. Being born black is, statistically, worse for your health than being born white, but it's not because black people are intrinsically wrong.

  • @Islander255 i havent seen 1 scrap of biological evidence to even support the idea of this "sexual orientation" god made genders male and female not sexual orientation

  • @TheZayin77 God makes SEXES male and female... and intersex. Gender is a social construct. And of course you're not going to find biological evidence when you only accept what your pastor endorses. Do some real research. Talk to people who actually know gay people. I know dozens and dozens of gay people, and none of them chose to be gay. Why would anyone ever choose to be gay? When did you make your conscious choice NOT to be gay?

  • @Islander255 i guess i have to be more specific Genders are not social constructs, genders are male and female, male=xy female=xx THAT'S ALL there is no gay=whatever, xx and xy biological evidence! talking to people who know gay people does NOTHING for biological research into this matter and i made my conscious choice NOT to be gay along time ago, in 7th grade

  • @TheZayin77 You made the choice not to have gay sex--you didn't make a choice not to be gay. It's relatively easy to make a choice not to have sex, but it is impossible to make a choice not to be attracted to someone. It was obviously an easy choice for you to not to have sex with people of the same sex since you didn't have that innate attraction. But you never chose whether or not you have opposite-sex attractions.

  • @TheZayin77 And yes, race and sexual orientation CAN be compared. You do not choose your sexual orientation. And requiring a gay person to be celibate their whole life is ridiculous and cruel. If it were heterosexuality that was wrong, I'd like to see you try to be celibate.

As for evolution, there is more proof for the theory of evolution than there is for the theory of gravity. I know the power of organized religion when it comes to living in denial, and it's sure doing a number on you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Islander255 besides i see no evidence for a silly thing like evolution

reason for silliness: can you show me something evolving? no

reason for silliness: a work of art, does it just happen? no its put together through a process of working ie somone makes it

reason for silliness: order from chaos? only in card tricks my friend

  • Amazing song and amazing video work. Nice+nice. Shame I don't believe in god though so I can't play this loud without people thinking I've become one of those born again people. Sheeeesh!

  • I love this song! it shows just how far this society we live in has fallen.

  • I love this song! it shows just how far this society we live in has fallen.

  • Excellent Job on the video Katy...The pictures are a perfect match to the mood of the song!

  • This song speaks to me loud and clear that American society has put more value on animals, whales and trees than the homeless on the street or the young runaway teen or perhaps the abused child that no tries to help as i write this tears are welling up because Jesus taught us to love one another by this all men will know we are his disciples. What have we Become?

  • @whisperingdeath308 I don't think caring for the enviorment would preclude us from caring for the poor, and the hopeless and the hungry...Some take that to an extreme in detremement to the people Jesus cared so much for, but to me the real ill of American society is that we've confessed Jesus with our lips and turned a blind eye to all of this and feel to our knees serving the American god...Money and Status...broken relationships, abused, hungry, tired, lonely, we are to be our brothers keeper

  • It's funny how society tells ppl the answer is a life of wealth and dog eat dog, but when some one reflects that and go kill some one for the money they have in their pocket, or something along those lines, they want say what bad criminals they are. I mean geez dont they know they are promoting those things, by putting forth the message that's it's a dog eat dog world where everyone is out to get rich..AT ALL COSTS? That's not only hypocritical, but insane aswell.

  • If there is any teen or child out there that have seen this video you are by no means and accident God does not make mistakes he sent his son for you too. You have a purpose and a reason for being here ask him what that purpose is and he will tell you. Jesus loves you very much.

  • 3:53-4:06 sends me to another world...DC Talk was ahead of their time. I can picture myself still bumping this 30 years from now. Now that's good, wholesome music :D

  • where are the righteous ones?

  • I love almost all of DC Talk's songs, in my opinion they are still the best Christian band I've ever heard. I believe this is their best song. It would be intersting to know where they themselves would rank it.

  • aw :( thats sad about the rosie part....

  • Oh My Gosh i finally found this song... I heard it and i was like whats the name of this song... and wow i finally found what the name of it............This song Rocks 0=D

  • This is one of the most true songs I´ve ever heard. Sometimes you meet people that are so occupied with themselves and full of it, that after spending 5 minutes in the same room, you start looking for the nearest exit. What about mercy, compassion and selflessness?

  • It's easy to say that "one guy was in it for the money", but the music business is something far more complicated than many of the people on this thread realize, I think. Besides, groups lose one member because "he is in it for the money" all the time - that doesn't mean they break up because of it. Bands replace members all the time. I think it's safe to assume there were many other, far more complicated factors that lead to the group's demise - perhaps even creative differences.

  • Their solo albums are also good separately, but nothing compared to what they were together!! They really inspired me on my way to Jesus! God bless them, God bless us!

  • i love this song it opened my eyes and now i am a christian and the group broke up cause one guy wanted it for money even after this song WOW!

  • the first verse really speaks to me because my parents say that they never want me to date a black man y

  • @love2dance111 wut the dating? its a christian song u no chriastans dont date u no? man if u were in meh church wihch is world rival church u need to look it up there ^ world rival church rival forever copy AND PASTE THIS EVERYWHERE PLEASE!!!!!

  • I LOVE that song!!! It is so true!! It is time the world changes!!! Great job on the video!!!

  • powerful and so true...

  • It`s a great protest song too

  • I like this video. can there be a posibility for you to forward videos in my account. God bless you God's Musician

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Really great song! incredible lyrics!!

i still dunno why DCT ended!!

    God Bless!!

  • @asafester Because Toby Mac wanted to go solo

  • @asafester I heard they broke up because one of the members wanted to do it for money instead of the Glory of God. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

  • oH... so sad! i wish they could get together again!!

  • @JesusisLord49 I don't think Toby Mac wanted to go solo for the money. I think He does want to glorify God, as you can tell from his current music. I don't know exactly why they did split up, and whether it was for the money. I don't think we should judge if we don't know their hearts. Anyway, that's my input. I think all 3 of them are great guys. Tate's a good replacement for Newsboys as well... and so is Toby... God Bless!

  • nice song

  • i sang this song before i knew what it meant, as a small child. now i see what it means and i still love this song

  • So did I! I practically grew up with this tape.

  • oh my goodness. i love this song.

it made me cry on the second verse. =(

The lord rules!! god bless you.
