  • This song reminds me of a few women I know. They use you a convenient part of their story, as a way to justify themselves. They hate themselves, so they do everything they can to bring you down. These reptilian cancers only care about themselves, they feed on your emotions and are egomaniacs. I think this song perfectly personifies how their words and action crawl right under your skin, how they degrade you in the name of their f-ed up vision of love.

  • Everyone do yourselves (and the band) a favor by getting their music on CD and a sick pair of open-back headphones. This music crushes your soul when it's played off a decent CD player and some Grado 325i's. Your heart will race, you might even cry uncontrollably...it's the only way to hear this music.

  • Well. This song kinda turns me on.

  • Completely wrong, but awesome metal.

  • Sends chills up my spine every time

  • the first time i heard this live, especially from about 1:57 and onward, i felt like i was burning in hell and i loved it. who could dislike this song? it demolishes everything! it's pure murder!

  • Love this song. The album cover reminds me of cutting my hand open during Hatebreed's set, after seeing Converge tear it up. Outside the venue, I met Jacob, Nate and Kurt and showed them my bleeding hand, to which they responded by pointing me towards the hospital. Great guys. I wish they would have kept my lacerations in mind when designing this cover (my saddle joint was ripped open and my palm was cut pretty bad as well).

  • :34 gives me the sheebyjeebys. which is gooooood

  • I read the lyrics and looks like this song is about me. Haha, funny.

  • @SaturnineXTS Unfortunately I know the feeling. It's pretty embarrassing being chewed out by Jacob Bannon.

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666

Some people treat rejection very personally and consider that people who don't want them "fail themselves" and are bad, cold and should love them in return "because they say so". Even after being rejected I still understand that. While this song is cool from the perspective of the rejected, it also gives the rejector too much shit.

  • @SaturnineXTS I dont think this song is about being rejected in love at all. I think it's about calling out self professed "victims" that only victimize themselves...Hence failing themselves with their unwillingness to better their own miserable lives.

  • @johnnyscifi

Oh, that would be cool, I hope this interpretation's true. Their lyricist tends to victimize himself a lot, though.

  • 7 people have failed me

  • I wasn't entirely sure I'd like this band, but I think I'm in love o.o

  • you think you're a VICTIM

but you live as a DRUNK

that has never sacrificed that has never loved

you think you are tragic but i know you are LOST

    FUCKING WHORE

  • this song makes me feel bad

  • @grawleh

this song makes me feel good =)

  • That is about the 5th song I check out after reading about it on "Questionable Content" and even tho it's not emo I still dislike it just like the other four.

    Great comic tho.

  • This song is pure hatred and disgust. One of the most powerful pieces of music I've ever heard.

  • songs like this are why people dont let me choose what to listen to

  • This music is Satan's cell phone ring!

  • Wow, that guitar tone is hard to describe..

  • Sick song. sounds like it's being played out of amplifiers stuffed with dead earth.

  • this song has failed me

  • Slow and sludgey, yet it draws me closer with every "you fail me".

  • I love the style of Converge, dark, energetic, filled with so much atmosphere. you guys should check out the band Cult of Luna, almost the same sound, although Id prefer Jake's vocals, it's so raw.

  • Those 6 of you, who dislike this you must be thinking everyone fail you but you fail yourself and evertbody around you..

  • If u r new to Converge... drop to your knees... they are the gods of hardcore!

  • jesus fucking h. christ that riff.. that opening riff. backed by that nothing short of inhuman voice and delicious lyrics... no words.

  • never heard before and tottaly liked it

  • amazing hatred in this music... no fake or commercial crap... 100 % real aggression

really makes me want to break something

  • pure desolation.....strangely comforting for me

  • I think this record is evil. I love it but man, its fucking evil and heavy. Long live converge. Seeing them may tenth.

  • when i first heard converge i didnt dig the vocals either.......but they grew on me too......and i listen to lots of grind, hardcore, thrash, and death......

  • Jacob Bannon is so fuckin' good. if you don't like his vocals you are a poser fuck

  • @lolh4x truthsayer tell us simpletons more

  • hahahahahaha

  • FUCKING DISGUSTING

  • best vocals on any song ever

  • Converge is SO good....but the vocals really kill it for me sometimes. =/

  • This song got awesome vocals though :)

  • Jacob Bannon is amazing. Stop being a bitch.

  • @Paulywhore calm down bro haha, I like converge a LOT, i have 3 of their albums. Jacob bannon is a great writer and good vocalist, they just mix it weird

  • your a fucking little shit head

  • your a fucking little shit head

  • lol to be fair that was a long time ago. They grew on me. I LOVE Jane Doe, Axe To Fall, and You Fail Me. i'm working my way through their whole discogrophy

  • YOU sucks.

  • classic already

  • Fucking great when they played it live.

  • Comment removed

  • converge getting sludgy........goooooood.

  • Für mich der beste Mathcore-Song überhaupt!

  • Reminds of the Jesus Lizard with more aggro vocals and not quite as intricate guitar. Good.

  • nice jesus lizard reference.

check out their new song dark horse and fault and fracture. Kurt Ballou can fucking rip it up on the fretboard.

  • @myhigherpie2 what jesus lizard reference?

  • Does anyone know what amp did Kurt use to record that ? Tone is killer

  • I read in an interview with him that he uses Traynor. Not sure if he used that in this song/album but..

  • cathartic and from the heart, the way every converge song is. i really should be listening to this out of something better then laptop speakers though.

  • hey, laptop speakers are pretty god damn awesome man

  • @surfacingtacit No my friend, you should get it on vinyl, and listen to it in a scratchy, loud, ravenous fashion at top speed.

  • petitioning the empty sky is my favorite so far!

  • i personally like you fail me more than jane doe. one of the few.

  • I think Jane Doe and You Fail Me are equal. But I also like When Forever Comes Crashing alot, that one is underrated in my opinion.

  • true, wfcc is underrated...but that one's my favorite

  • wfcc is one of my personal favorites.

    sick album.

  • same here man

  • If you're new to Converge, listen to Jane Doe. (songs like Bitter and Then Some, Heaven in Her Arms, Homewrecker etc..) You Fail Me might be hard to get into for some..

  • jane doe is too... hm... annoying?

to me, on You Fail Me they crash it harder.)

  • are you a rehab

  • @xXHardcoreXMetalXx nice advertisement

  • @xXHardcoreXMetalXx this is the first song I heard by Converge and have been in love ever since.

  • @xXHardcoreXMetalXx

you fail me is awesome. jane doe is not

  • @kwtrmln

jane doe is the best album ever recorded

  • I care

  • Ah, fair play to you on that one.

    Personally, I love it.

I'm sure you listen to some stuff that I hate, and there's probably a lot of stuff we'd both enjoy.

If we all liked the same stuff, it'd get boring.

  • Odiously Blissful
