@850jt That is where you are wrong! There are free partys and good drugs everywhere, your just not looking hard enough! I went to a intense free party the other week and it was full of good mandy.
I was there also and my son came just for the sunday afternoon and he was only about 4 at the time!! Those were the days. There was nothing relaxing about that party no calming herbs on site whatsoever...........only the fast dancey & trippy stuff if ya know what I mean. You had to be there!!!

no free festivals were not predominatly middle class the free festivals wer created by newage travellers+after many years of site life i can assure u the majority of us were+still r as common as can be there truly was a lot of peacenlove on site+at festivals until eviction time then the boys in blue would proudly march onto site+trash everything+everyone they could+if it wernt plod tryin to move us on it was local vigilantes trashin r homes
i disagree, in as much that it was an extension of the the free festival scene of the eighties. predominantly, these festivals were ran and attended by the middle classes. when rave took off, it was a more accessible scene and so the police clamped down on it as more and more people were enjoying themselves... hence, the CJB.
theese free festivals+raves were not organised by middle class but by hippy travellers living on site+various squat collectives rave was never more accesible than festivals as for the cjb that was created to replace the public order act that us hippy ravellors+squatters proved didnt work lovenlight x$x
yep. but i still stand my claim that the free festivals etc were predominantly a middle class affair. i spent years around the scene to know that most of the people that were the major players were what you would nowadays call trustafarians.

Truly an historic document. I ended up there having hitched over to the Chipping Sodbury free festival- the police had stopped that and pushed everyone up to a big travelers site up the road. The whole thing just moved off from there and we ended up a Castlemorton.I was not much into techno music at that time- spent my time watching bands on wango rilies stage. tofu love frogs, back to the planet, poisoned electric head!

What a weekend (week). I loved it all. Miss that era like mad. You could just walk into some travellers bus, sit down & chat shit for hours even though you never met em before. Block up motorways, scare the hell out of service station staff.... good times.

Thanks 4 the memory,I beleive there was 20,000 people turned up over the weekend, cars got stuck cause it was an old quarry,classic time great event. I vaguely remember getting there,I was with a convoy at the time and it all came over air waves to get to Lechlade I think it was about the time of the White Lady Festival, 2 many drugs and to much special brew has affected my memory but I don't regret ever!!!!
