I can't imagine the repercussions from the loss of sensation, but how on Earth do you counteract the loss in terms of immune-function? I mean the whole foreskin - the bit that keeps the penis healthy and infection-free - is gone. How do you wash it when the glans isn't meant to be on the outside? If you wash it with soap, the glans will harden, whereas if you rinse it, as you would an intact penis, it will tend to stay dirty because the foreskin doesn't exist and can't keep it properly clean.

All I can say is that, for me, it was daunting to start with, after the operation I was very sensitive and had some bleeding and had to walk like John Wayne for a couple of weeks. However, since then it has healed well, I get longer, stiffer, bigger erections and my self-confidence has grown as a result. Hope that helps you make up your mind :-)

As an adult you should be able to make a decision in weather or not you want to modify your body. I am not against Circumcision but I am aganst RIC, It should in no way be left up to the parent because of violation to human rights. It is not medically necessary and to have it done you are losing 74% of sensitivity and 72 nerve endings. The only time this procedure should be undergone is for Medical, Health or Religious reasons or for you to make a decision as your old enough to understand it.

I had phimosis and a broken frenulum. All I can say is that, for me, it was daunting to start with, after the operation I was very sensitive and had some bleeding and had to walk like John Wayne for a couple of weeks. However, since then it has healed well, I get longer, stiffer, bigger erections and my self-confidence has grown as a result. Hope that helps you make up your mind :-)

I was just curious why you decided to get a circumcision? Was there an issue with phimosis? As a nurse I've seen quite a few complications when it comes to circumcision surgeries, problems years after the fact, and plenty of men who really wish they had never been cut to begin with. I've also seem people who are suffering still being intact, mostly because of poor hygiene or social stigma. I was just wondering what made you decide this.

Now if you go to sub-Saharan Africa, they show effects.. As an adult you should be able to make a decision in weather or not you want to modify your body. I am not against Circumcision but I am aganst RIC, It should in no way be left up to the parent because of violation to human rights. It is not medically necessary and to have it done you are losing 74% of sensitivity and 72 nerve endings. The only time this procedure should be undergone is for Medical, Health or Religious reasons or for you to make a decision as your old enough to understand it.
