This is the most amazing sound editing software i've ever seen, at first glance, I thought it was just like NCH wavepad sound editor until I experienced it's noise canceling capabilities, haven't ever experienced this in NCH WavePad Sound editor since I've been using it for years now.

basically what i am saying is that i have recorded songs using different equipment some on computer some on Boss BR-600 and i am looking for software to finalise the final recording and to give all the songs the same "feel"

is it possible to record a song on sony acid,mix it to a single track then run that single track through forge to enhance the sound and correct any mistakes in terms of equalisation etc I say this because i have songs that i have already recorded but am looking for software that will enable me improve the sound quality of my songs.

It is so hard to explain in some words this thing but I'll give a try ... Sony Sound Forge was design for audio pro single track editing while Acid is a multitrack platform (production, recording, mixing) ...

Keeping a fair ration between, and talking strictly for the base functions and engines we can say that sound forge is in the same software family with steinberg wavelab while acid is in another different software family with audition, cubase, sonar ...

@AudioNewsRomania thumbs up to you. Acid is best with synth and MIDI Forge best for editing. ang single track recording plus editing. I use Soundforge Acid and Sonar. all are doing good.

What is the difference between Sony Sound Forge and Sony ACID Pro?

@projectspud04 Sound forge is used for sound editing, where as ACID pro is a Audio workstation. So the basic difference is that ACID pro has multi-track capabilities. You can use it as a studio recording software to combine many sounds. You can edit the sound on ACID but not much. On S.F. you can edit the sound by a large amount. You cannot use it as a mixer. The result is that it is best when they are used in union, SF for editing and ACID for putting many tracks together.

Oh, I see. So I guess you could say ACID is the recording/mixing platform whereas SF is great for mastering tracks?

@projectspud04 You can say so, but you can master tracks on ACID too. But SF gives you more control over each individual track.

@projectspud04 Maybe it would. But there are meant for people who have the time and money to splash. I'd recommend Adobe Audition. It gives a fair amount of editing control and it is a multitrack D.A.W.
