I want to set up a cichlid tank you seem to have done well with urs! I av a 40gall tank and i have 1 upside down catfish 1 flying fox, 4 corys, 1 clown loach n 2 yoyo loaches (paskistani loach). They all appear to be compatible after doing some research. i would like to hav 1 red zebra 1 electric yellow, 1 malawi golden and one bumble bee cichlid???!!! HELP?
hay could you tell me, what size that tank is, weather or not your cichlids breed and how much did you pay for them? any sickness or problems resulting in death, ive been having a few problems with my tank. thanks
got a 20g and are going to make rock caves with bogwood how many african cichlids could i fit in there do u think enough room for a convict, fire mouth and 2 angels. if not what cichlids wud u recomend thanks !
You can keep mixed mbunas in a small tank if they are small. You'll only be able to keep a few. Once they start growing you'll want to get them a larger tank.
I have a synodontis eupterus in my african tank and it is fine. It really depends on how big your fish and syno eupterus are. My syno is actually pretty aggressive and will chase around my demasoni. If you are going to introduce it into your tank it is best to turn the lights off when adding it. In my tank, it holds is on very well. Good luck!
wow they are getting big! my dempseys are growing fast 2. i've had them for 3 months and they have already gone from 2"- 4" and are a lot thicker and wider too.

@chezza155 yeah you can but make sure the fish are not too small i have one red zebra and two electric yellows they do fine check outmy channel

It's a 55g tank. My Demasoni and Hongi's have bred. No sickness or deaths in this tank.

Different species of cichlids will spawn. To avoid hybrids you'll need to keep a few species in larger groups.
