@sayisakindof Definitely buy a simulator! They may be expensive, but in the long run it will saves you a lot more money. Rather than having to buy parts after every crash (especially if you're just learning to fly a collective pitch heli), you can hit the reset button on the interlink elite controller (Realflight G4,G5 and Realflight 6) or the spacebar on the computer keyboard. I
don't have any helis larger than a 300 so I can't say that bigger is better. But the bigger the heli, the more parts
@sayisakindof No, not really. Absolute beginners: Coaxial (recommended). Beginners: maybe a TRex 100 Super Combo, or a Blade msR (+ some hours of training in/on a simulator). After that: 250 or 450/500 class (TRex, KDS 450, Blade 450 3D and so on)...BUT: Be careful, Heli are no toys. Blades can cause bad injuries (worst case: deadly injuries). So, have fun, but be careful ;-)
@lesperancager thx for replying, it's good to know all that( i've seen on other videos that bigger helis were more appropriate to beginners). Now i'm thinking about to follow your advice, maybe starting with the simulator. Thank you again!
@sayisakindof Youre welcome. Its right, that bigger helis are better to fly. Reasons: e.p. better hooving. Especially flybarless systems are "easy" to fly. BUT, different reasons to start with coaxial, or micro: cheap spare parts, easy to repair, survives many accidents and so on. A Micro Heli isnt as agile, as a bigger heli. You have to learn precise stick movements, to be able to fly a 3D helicopter. If you start with a 250/450 you are in danger ;-) One mistake and it crashes (maybe into you)
@fumochicles10 Not long ago (here in Germany) a father nearly killed himself, with his own RCHelicopter, his 13 year old son saved his life...sh** happens. The TRex Kit (no electronics) costs about 160€ -europe-.....a BNF version (without transmitter) about 440€ and with transmitter (e.p. DXi6) about 630€. Its worth it, but for this price, you can also get a good 450 helicopter. E.P. Blade 450 3D, or the great Beam E4 Advance (a powerfull schain saw XD) Greetings from Germany ;-)
@ecoovert let it get up to flight rpms. You should never use any trim on your tail. If you have drift in one direction you slider isn't centered. What heli are you flying? Bring D/R down some and give it 15% expo.
Great video! I'm new to helicopters and am having trouble with my rudder being way to sensitive. When I try to hover my copter spins in one direction so I move the trim one click in the opposite direction which causes the copter to spin in the opposite direction. Is this a sub trim issue in the radio settings or is it a physical issue like moving the rudder control rod one hole closer to the center of the servo horn on the rudder servo? If a radio issue how do I reduce the rudder sensitivity?
i got the "super combo" kit with an 720 gyro and it works pretty well (270€). my trex 600 has an 520 gyro and also work perfectly. i just bought the 250 for training because in vienna, where i live, there are no areas where you can fly.
just in case i hit a dog with the 600 i prefer to hit a dog with a 250
Actually, he has complete control...you have to have sick skills to be able to do those manuevers and not crash, especially so low to the ground. Awesome heli, I'd love to get one of those when my skills improve.
@BLTRINIDAD So in otherwords, you spent a bunch money on items that you don't even use, and you are criticizing other people for spending a bunch of money on things that they use and enjoy all the time? It sounds like the "POOR SAD PERSON" is actually you.
@BLTRINIDAD No kidding buddy shut your damn mouth. Radio Control is a fun and exciting hobby, that takes alot of skill. It is well worth every dollar we spend. There is alot of people who pour their hard earned money into things for there own personal enjoyment. I really think you should go somwhere else, and stop sptelling people how they should and shouldn't spend there hard earned money.
You can fly it like a normal heli without all the crazy flight patterns but this guy is showing what the heli is capable of. Me, I'd be happy just flying around casually, hovering around and doing minor things and hope to get as good as him someday.
Lol. I love my Spektrum now as one of my large .60 glow planes went in due to a glitch on 35mhz earlier today... I now need to start saving up for Rx's;)
