look at this so much positive thinking... i got to put a balance to this...
you suck, you all do, this music sucks, bad ass bietch, i rather eat the rotten asshole, from a rotten skunk drawned with beer, i rather eat diarea mixed with a whole pile of rotten shit then to listen to this music lol
My daughter has covered this with a band- check this out on youtube: The Fix by Groove Academy's Wanderlust. We are both massive Elbow fans and saw them live some months ago, probably the best conceert we have been to.
Too bad Youtube converts almost every sound to Mono. This song is so awesome and it's even better and more atmospheric in stereo. A lot of sounds gets cut out when stereo->mono converting commences.
Try viewing some back catalogue on Youtube, you might find other stuff you like. The middle 2 albums are different again: Cast of Thousands and Leader of the Free World. If you buy the CDs you will probably get some live stuff - they tend to give away bits!
Oh and their very best, cult song is a cover of Destiny's Child "Indpendent women" also available on youtube.... a must for a giggle!
Note to self: get the Live Lounge session (Amy Winehouse covers too)
I can only guess that the song you are talking about is called "Newborn", and I think it goes like this: "I'll be the corpse in your bathtub, useless..."--"useless", not "stupid". And although the content might be considered spooky or a bit disturbing, I don't find the melody really spooky at all; not as in "The Fix". I like "The Fix" because it's got a fun and kooky, almost Halloween-like vibe to it.
This song led me to check out Richard Hawley, who is also very good. He's the singer with the low voice; a great combination with Guy Garvey's tenor, in my opinion.
love this song. it's how I found out about elbow. We used to play this at my workplace, which was a cafe that also held bdsm fetish nights and sold erotic paraphenalia. I thought this was a very fitting song for the antics that went on!
they sound like angels and look like the guys who delivered your sofa...

Yep. I heard "The Fix" on the radio on Halloween - thought it was great and suited the festivities. I haven't seen anything live.
