  • Playing at Littlefield, New York on Feb 25, 2012 WTF I WISH!!! RIP JOHNNY CASH

  • How could this song not make you depressed? It is the saddest way to go. Such a complex human, with such a complex story. Drugs, June, victory, defeat, succeeding, failing. He went through it all. Through a great ring of fire.

and he lived his great life one piece at a time.

    R.I.P. Johnny Cash,

  • Nine Inch Nail's version = Jesus

Johnny Cash's version = So Jesus that the original singers said it "was his song now"

God, both versions are just so good.

  • I hated this song till I heard Johnny's version...RIP Man In Black!

  • <3

  • This man could perform anything.

  • i cry bout everytime i hear this song its just beautiful

  • Johnny Cash isnt dead. He just Went home. for anyone who tries to call Cash Country they are Dead Wrong. cuz Johnny Cash Is Johnny Fuckin Cash

  • @simpleplan701 To call Johnny Cash country is an insult to the man himself. I hate fucking country music with a fiery passion and yet I love me some Johnny Cash.

  • @SeanStrife and I Completely agree with you sir. Johnny Cash Has his own Placement among the Ranks of Music

  • @simpleplan701 He transcends mere genre labels. To label him anything, really, is an insult.

  • Comment removed

  • @SeanStrife Uhm, Johnny Cash IS country. Dumbass. Why do you think he is with country singers... WOW! You obviously haven't heard his other songs and his life story.

  • @cierrakable Way to take a compliment and completely take it out of context, you stupid bimbo. And why is it you decide to pinpoint MY comment when the comment I was responding to said the exact same thing I was saying? Care to answer that one for me, genius?

  • While searching for this, I found a Christina Aguilera video.

    It hurt.

  • awesome song <3

  • the only song that's given me chills < 3

  • R.I.P Johnny Cash, your voice still makes me move on. Warns me to do right. I still listen to you Day and Night. Time will pass, I will never forget. And if I too, could start again. A Million Miles Away, I would keep myself, I would find a way. Your amazing. And I love you. And the movie they made about you, I Still Love Watching It. Your amazing... I hope you keep doin' whatever you do wherever you are now.. Sincerely, Emmiee'TheOneWhoWasInspired(;
  • i could sit here and write for hours.. to declare my love for this song, it impacts me so hard.. cant really find words that explain this. I love this song, so much it hurts.

  • I can't watch this without feeling shivers down my spine. Even Nine Inch Nails say this is Johnny's song. It bring's a tear to my eye. R.I.P Johnny Cash. May you rest with June, in Heaven forever.<3

  • 42 people are just freaking stupid.

  • @greenleafelf with u all the way, people are just fucking stupid to rip on this piece of art

  • the 42 people who voted down to this song, obviousaly dont know music. if you actually listen to this song, it has meaning, and spirit. it is one of the most emotional songs ever recorded. so for the 42 people, re listen to it. and vote it up.

  • nine inch nails version is good too but this one feels like it has more meaning.

  • What kind of useless piece of shit would dislike this. It's a master piece, Unquestionable.

  • Beautiful and heart wrenching

  • I heard this song from the end of columbiana and i absolutely fell in love with it, its really inspirational and it really is an amazing song. -R.I.P Johnny Cash-

  • first itme i heard this song was from the movie columbiana. it captivated me. it was so undescribable, but it seemed true in feeling.

  • this song reminds me of myself it makes me cry cuz instead of you hurt i'm hurt

  • When i heard thi song, i thought it was from Johnny Cash. Then i found out it was Nine Inch Nails. And i said to myself "Holy shit, when Johnny Cash sings this song its 100 times better". Johnny Cash made it more meaningful.R.I.P Johnny.

  • @BigCatFanatic28 Johnny Cash originally wrote this song. They just sang after he died.

  • @cierrakable The Downward Spiral (the album this song was from), was released while Johnny Cash was still alive. So no, Johnny Cash did NOT write this song. Trent Reznor said it was Johnny Cash's song because Johnny Cash did a fantastic job with the song: better than the original that he himself did.

I find it funny you sit there and call me a dumbass for stating an opinion, yet here you are making factual inaccuraces. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones and all that rot.

  • @cierrakable ya... no i believe nine inch nails wrote this song, and i believe johnny liked it because it reminded him of his life so he sang it to there's another band that sings this song but i don't know there name

    John Wyatt Gettinger out

  • darn you, johnny cash...

you rip my heart out every time i listen to this song...

look at this comment and think if you've been through something that relates to this song. i know i have. you dont have to thumbs it up. i just wanna get a message about how epic johnny cash is and how much he really makes us think about our own lives.

  • This song has so much emotion behind it, and it's so obvious. I can't help but cry like a baby.

  • This makes me sad like no other song does.

ive never thought about killing myself but im starting to think about it i mean not like anyone would miss me...

  • @lexy3451 Lexy No don't feel like if no one is gonna miss you cuz i miss you ♥ i haven't seen you in such a long time D: if you don't recognize me.... its me your 8th grade Hippy .... and no not Linda but Maria xD

  • first comment is the exactly what i feel

  • I was in the hospital at 15 years old while my family cried around me. I was involuntarily committed for trying to kill myself multiple times, I was depressed for months and no one else saw it, I felt the deepest coldest depths of nothingness and hated my life. I was so alone, I layed on the hospital bed singing this song. Now a year later I'm still recovering but every time I hear this song I think back to that day, my darkest day and how this song helped me. Rip johnny you've touched my soul.

  • @jamushka1 i know exactly how you fell because everyday i hate my life and im put down ,stay strong and know your a great person and although you might feel down know there are people that love you

  • thts how i feel sometimes, ive done things im not proud of...

  • i agree with cooperation dude, i mean, Johny Cash is one of the greatest of the greatest and justing is just.. a kid that is (unfortunatly and i seriously don't know how) Compared to guys like Stevie wonder and the beatles cause of the albums ffs - . -'

  • nine inch nails made this song. this song is a cover song. i love it though!!!

  • god give us johnny cash back and we will give you Justin bieber, hannah montana, and Rebecca Black. just plz give him back!!

  • what exactly is this song about? to me it seems to be about depression and trying to get past it and not being the same as everyone else, losing the people who once cared about you and just fading into nothing. am i wrong?

  • the cody song

  • sick irony, this song. I wonder how ill ever live on, but I might, but probably damaged beyond repair. Im not surprised it happened again, everyone let me down, even the only one ive loved, and ever will love. Caity, you have no idea how much pain im in right now. Ive been changed, but for better or for worse I dont know. You have no idea how much I love you. I love you more than life itself, though theres very little worth living for anymore.

  • @ILOVETHISCOMPANY1 I sympathize with you mate... I thought of the same things today when I got let down by the persone I loved the most...

  • this song makes me cry

  • THIS IS LEGENDARY SONG

  • gosh this song is so great

  • I prefer the Leona lewis version!

  • he sang this about his wife

    she died of heart failier

he died 3 mounths later of

    heart break

  • when he sang this everyone listened. He did this song so much better... He will be missed.

He did every song with grace, and gave everyone chills

  • Hard to belive its a cover.

  • this version of this song makes me cry.

  • tis song makes me cry so much

  • @Videodude1231 it makes me cry too, it makes me realize how much i miss my wife and kids and it sets it in concrete on how much ive been such a horrible person.

  • this is one of the only cover songs that is better than the original

  • @philstu1 trent said after he heard this version that it was no longer his it became johnny's

  • this reminds me of my past...not a good past

    beautiful song<3

  • what a song!

  • it's rare that i hear a song that makes me feel as if it were written specifically about some my own experiences, but this one really hit home

  • if you don't like this lyrics yo are a retarded primate

  • This song is so sad. He wrote it just before he died

  • @bullrider8320 This is a cover a the song hurt by nine inch nails. This cover is amazing and he made made it sound like it was written about him.

  • if i lost my best friend i dont know what id do

  • @werppeoo Wow man, i'm really sorry bro. If my girlfriend ever died, I don't know what i'd do.

    Stay strong man.

  • Johnny Cash has the most distinguishing, God given, baritone voice ever. Every lyrics are pronounced, making the songs alive..

  • He Died 7 Months After Writing It.... It's Like His Dying Breathe, Oh My..... So Impactful.... The Ending...... Dayum

  • @Enigma909090 didn't know Trent Reznor killed himself.

  • @Enigma909090 Johnny did not write this song.

  • duh the lead singer of nine inch nails did

  • 38 people now HURT

  • Smallville brought me here i miss that show and i love this song

  • Extreme Respect for this song

  • Johnny Cash wears a crown of thorns. NIN wears a croen of shit.

  • @handinside You wear no crown at all.

  • @handinside I don't like that Johnny changed that part tbh, but they suit each artist

  • i cry and normally i don't cry for songs. but this one.

  • Comment removed

  • How on earth cld u POSSIBLY dislike this song?!

  • Try to kill it all away . but I remember everything .

  • i love this song...i fell just like this...

  • RIP johnny U.U

He had a life, very few people in this world have. He died of a broken heart, But he got a chance to play the music he loved and died doing that... not many people die doing what they were meant to do

  • i listen to this song everyday.. i can connect w/ it so much. god bless johnny cash may he rest in peace.

  • wow super liedje. tis ne cover maar niemand zingt dit mooier dan Jhonny. thanx

  • God, please give us Johnny Cash, in exchange we will give you Justin Bieber.

  • @CooperationX Johnny Cash is too good of a musician. We have to throw in two lousy excuses for musicians. God take Rebecca Black too.

  • @CooperationX i wish with all my heart that this was possible

  • @CooperationX No, Why would you do such a thing ? God bringing back Johnny Cash would mean we'll be talking him away from June.

  • @CooperationX did you not watch full metal alchamist? equivilant exchange! you dont trade shit for gold, you dont trade beiber for johnny cash im afraid

  • @CooperationX LOL JUSTIN BIEBER JOKES NEVER GET OLD OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

    seriously, stop.

  • @CooperationX God isn't stupid enough to make that trade...

  • @CooperationX I love Johnny compared to Justin, but screw that. Johnny had his time, he's a legend. Don't like Justin's music? Neither do I, but that doesn't make him a bad artist.

  • @CooperationX Thats not an equal trade, thats like trading $1,000 for a turd.

  • @CooperationX i might get many thumbs down for this.... but even Johnny Cash wouldn't want to take away Justin Bieber from todays music, anyone with any respect to music can see that Bieber is extremely talented, even if you do not like his music.

  • @mattastic0 Why does his name the only one mentioned?? In this world their are many people who are talented and yeah Justin Bieber may have talent, but that doesn't mean other bands or genres dont.. do you like heavy metal, rap, or even rock n' roll? Most people I know stick to a certain type they most enjoy (which could involve 2 or more types of music put into a song).. People don't like Bieber for a reason and that's because everyone grew to hate him overtime

  • @mattastic0 Everyone hated him, because everyone else started too.. If i went around saying I didn't like rap music to a bunch of people who do like rap, then i would become disrespected and hated for my opinion.. If i told everyone I liked Bieber, then i would be thought of as "Gay" or probably the thought i had no taste in music... I don't personally like Bieber, but i agree, he does have talent..... Sorry i put 2 messages :P lol

  • @blakem375 i put only beiber because he is the only one being hated on on this video. It is obvious i like a little bit of everything, I'm a musician and i play everything, cash, beiber, satriani, gaga, soad, sublime, etc. I guess i don't stick to a certain type like "most people." And anyone who would say you had no taste in music for liking justin beiber is a complete fool and extremely ignorant, because he infact is one of the most talented artists at the time.

  • @mattastic0 It's hard to write music when you're interested in many different types of songs, have you noticed that yet?? Never liked Justin Bieber, nor have i ever enjoyed most music in this generation.. When i mean "most people" i mean that the people who dont take the effort to know where the music they are listening to now which were influenced by other amazing bands like the Beatles, guess it's their loss, right?.. I would have to disagree with him being one of the greatest all time btw....

  • @blakem375 its not hard at all? it actually just progresses my music, It has influenced me to learn a wide variety of styles that give me different options when writing music. and i never said one of the greatest of all time btw, i said at the time. He is one of the most recognized artists at the time, not of all time.

  • @mattastic0 you just said "because he infact is one of the most talented artist of all time".. Wished I had your musical ability, seems like I can't write music worth shit because I'm stuck on so many ways on which to write on.. I have so many things on my mind all the time, that I just don't know when to start or how to begin..

  • @blakem375 its very dimwitted of you not to go back and read my comments; no where in any of them have i said "one of the most talented artist of all time," what you are refering to which was posted 23 hours ago, says "because he infact is one of the most talented artists AT the time." this does not say "of all time," i'm refering to the popularity and musical talent he has shown in the past few years.

  • ,beautiful song:DDDDD

  • Listening to this song is like listening to Johnny Cash take his last breath in music...Forever a legend!!!

  • My cousin just died 3 and 1/2 hours ago....I haven't seen her in 3 years. Everyday of my life we use to hang out when she and her bf lived next to me. I cannot believe her life is now forever gone...It seems like yesterday she was always there and we could always be friends...R.i.p. Heather Overton age 27...I will always love you, and I will miss you so much...Thank you for being the person you were to me.

  • even though this is the cover from NIN original, this version is better by a mile

  • Did he write this song before he died? I heard he had a rough life and was a recovering Alcoholic. This is what I've heard. And he also spent time in prison.

  • @jacobbis4lovers he wrote it after his wife died

  • @ddoggdiggity You obviously have no clue what you are talking about.... He didn't write this song, jacobbis4lovers is right, NIN wrote and recorded the original, Don't talk about Johnny if you don't know Johnny.

    R.I.P. Greatest Artist Ever

  • @bearclaire227 dont have to be an asshole about it i thought something and didnt know

  • @ddoggdiggity He didnt write it after his wife died Nine inchnails wrote it and recoreded it, johnny re recorded it 7 months before he died

  • r.i.p johnny, you changed my life.

  • i want to cry

  • when johnny cash covers your song it's not your song anymore

  • @ninjastartimeyo this is johnnys song nine inch nails did the cover

  • @Bigbadpoppaj nope johnny covered it its originaly a nine inch nails song johnny asked the lead singer of nine inch nails if he could cover it because it reminded him of his lifetime and the lead singer said "it would be an honor".

  • never in my life has ones music made such an impact on my life........RIP johnny........

  • Thank you gears of war!!!!!

  • to think his best song (in my opinion) was all because of some little 23 year old shit who said he couldnt still perform

  • love it

  • It is just so impossible to believe this is a cover song. It's just... so unbelievable. No other song on this planet makes you feel the pain in one's words such as Johnny's version of this. No song can ever amount to this classic; it's just beautiful... <3

  • the last 4 lines always get me :'(

  • at first when I heard this song thought"johnny cash is my favorite singer and this son is perfect" and it's right.....

  • This song is perfect to be sang by Johnny Cash. No one knows hurt like he does.

  • you sent me this song when everything was still okay, i didnt open the link, i didnt listen to it. Now i do, now it is too late. I miss you

  • Clicked on this song by accident, and it is the best mistake I have ever made

  • @REVer112

    i did the same thing

  • @REVer112

    dude stfu NIGGER

  • @awesomesauce0001 Excuse me? Firstly, if you walk around speaking those disgusting words as much as you spit them out online, then you will encounter great problems though life. Secondly, I honestly thought you were talking to me in another language then, go back to school and actually learn how to write. Lastly, if you read my comment then you would realise that I clicked on this song accidentally, but actually really love it. Or is all of that beyond your intellectual level?

  • @REVer112

Talk to me when your dick grows 3 inches to meet the average. I'd enjoy arguing with you at that time so your insecurities wouldn't get in the way.

Mr. 2 inch dick wants to call me stupid when he misspelled "realise". Cute.

  • @awesomesauce0001 It's so lovely that you took the time to reply, telling me to grow in penis. Really, I'd love to, if I even had one, its Miss to you please. Also, I am from England, we spell it with an 's' here. Cute.

  • @REVer112

    Defensive much?

  • @awesomesauce0001 Just don't jump to conclusions about people who you encounter online, it pays to not make assumptions.

  • @REVer112

    How so?

  • @awesomesauce0001 Well, because we really don't know anything about anyone until we actually get to know them. We have no idea what anybody has truly been through, everyone has shit to deal with, and it may be the most painful thing that anyone could ever imagine. I think we just have to be careful about what we say and who we say it to because we may not know that person at all.
