  • got one for christmas!

  • Hope you're ukulele journey is going well. I just picked up one today.

  • GCEA

  • I don't understand your tuning. I tried to play along with your cords for a little bit and then smashed my uke into 50 pieces.

  • not bad

  • haha ine hint. dont use a pker chip to strum. just use your fingers it sounds much better

  • I tried playing along with you on mine, and it sounded like cats in heat. I checked my tunings, and I was maybe half a cent off. I think you need to tune up first thing. The E chord is 1st finger first string second fret, with the other fingers holding strings down on 4th (or barring). I'm not sure you have the 1st string covered.

  • is he using a poker chip for a pic?

  • i have the same uke and it literaly comes out of tune within a mintue of tuning...any advice from anyone?

  • G C E A :)

  • This guy is funny and entertaining to watch

  • i realy got that tyvm your good and nice uku i have one in blue lol

  • dude, you are way out of tune!

  • you got one of those cheap starter ukuleles didn't you? lol me too, i got the cheapest one at Guitar Center for 50 bucks.

  • @ShannChannel i got the same uke to ahahaha

  • hehe, maybe you should invest the first 10 bucks ;-). Then some more get a tuner. Sorry, I'm a uke beginner too, but here I see how not to do it.

  • You might want to try trimming the nails on your fret hand. Try to hold the strings down more with your finger tips, right behind the nail - keep your fingers curled and you will have an easier time not bumping the strings that you want to leave open. Go slow and pay attention to good form. Take my word, it is hard to break "bad" habits, and those habits can hold you back in the long run. Oh, and that pick is eventually going to trash the finish on your uke.

  • um, hey , try holding the d chord with your thumb if you cant do it properly, i saw some guy playing stairway to heaven on a ukulele and he was using his thumb to do it, it does help.

  • Well, I don't wanna blame you, but I think that if you wanna teach somethin' you have to know it well enough.

  • its a blog of him learning.,.,.,., he's also asking ppl for help.,.,.,., sooooooooo

  • Your instrument is not tuned

  • you are soo like me.. this must be what everybody is like when learning this thing.. I wonder does it ever become easy like touch typing? cos right now it's bloody hard..

  • Lesson # 1: Stop using the coaster/pick/plectrum and put your right hand fingers on the strings. Thanks for your cooperation. johnnybrooksdotcom

  • lol, that would be a small drink if that is a coaster

  • expert village always has good vids

there are probably hundreds of others that provide instruction on the uke on youtube

    good luck!

  • question? do you play guitar? ifso - the g chord you think is hard is super simple if you already play guitar - it's a d chord on the guitar -

  • it's a bitch move not mentioning the 'cool site' that's been teaching you.

  • try doing Am C G F E

  • i think yur ukes not tuned! i have a diff one though lol.

  • what's da website??

  • try to play honey baby by three plus its the easiest song to play and alot of people like it.

  • G C E A good cooks eat alot. for the d chord the one you dont hit is is the top string? G? or is it the bottom string A? plz respond oh and yes it is a soprano i just bought mine yesterday :)
