11 days have passed since the start of my quest of finding 13CemeteryDrive13s comment. 2 days ago I ran out of cookies and water. I don't think I'll survive another night. Tell my wife and kids that i love them.
i was born in 1994, so i didn't enjoyed Smashing so much, but now, in a world full on empty music, with my 17 years old, i know why 90's were better than 2000 and above...
melon collie and the infinite sadness was the 1st album i ever owned(actually 2 cd's). i just got home from school one day...and my dad walked in my room...threw it on my bed..and walked out...didn't say a word...i was like 10 years old...
Any one that is a major fan of Smashing Pumpkins, can you please tell me the name of songs from Smashing pumpkins that are moer mellow beat like this song?
I was born in 92, is it possible to have listened to the Pumpkins extraordinary Music back then? I cant seem to remember listening to music much when I was less than 10 years old, that and plus I really wouldnt have gotten what Corgan was trying to say. My mind couldnt process it, I just started listening to SP when I was 16 up until now, the message was received. Does anyone else feel me? Same thing goes for great films aswell, try watching 'A clockwork Orange' at 7 or Goodfellas at age 5?
Im from 1991, when i was btwn 4 and 5 i couldnt fall asleep in the dark, my older brother by then he was 14 or 15 played the entire album of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and for those that remember this album had a little book with the lyrics, but more importantly I never grew afraid of sleeping in the dark after hearing their songs. Especially 1979. Thank You Smashing Pumpkins for being the main core of my childhood.
@TheBrokenIllusion : I have lived long enough to say that todays music sucks. Nothing like the late 80's and early 90's. It will go down as quite the years of music
@RyanKavanagh1996 there are really good bands nowadays i dont know what the hell youre saying. quit being lazy and listening to what everyone else listens to
if someone says bieber, gaga, pitbull, or a shit like that is better than this masterpiece, then I will get really pissed, I mean what happened to the time were music was awesome, tv. entertaing and cool people, this is sad, really sad...
to all those kids who are sad they didn't grow up in the 90s - it doesn't matter. I was born the tail end of the 90s so never saw Pumpkins (that is, good Pumpkins) or Belly or Pixies but there's tonnes of bands that take inspiration from them going around right now. you just have to find it and with the internet, that's as easy as ever.
After they had initially filmed this music video, they had the roll of film with them in New York City. One of the producers accidentally left it on the top of a cab, and they lost it. They decided to go back and redo it, and it turned out to be totally worth it.
What I find fascinating is that somewhere out there is the original version.
Born in 95. Did not know what the fuck was going on in the world till 2000ish. Obviously I missed out...the comments-people wishing they can go back. I understand, my generation sucks, but maybe this decade a new generation will rise up and get back what you guys had. Unfortunately you guys gave birth to a bunch of techno-crazies...I like to party and stuff but damn, I don't enjoy the party "music." My iPod really saves me from the shit played on radio and in public!
@AquaGiant Dont listen to the radio. You only wish you were a teenager in the 90's because all the bands that you like were probably really really popular back then, and so they were played on the radio all the time. Many great artist are still playing great music now-a-days, but of course they're not popular enough to get the same amount of playing time as the pop divas and the bubblegum rappers.
@MyLittleDiscolite yeah but we have the internet meaning we can pick our own music/culture. Other than that I really can't think of anything good about growing up in the two thousands. I really wish I could have been a gen-x!
@13CemeteryDrive13 i dunno how amazing it must of been in america,or wherever u may be,but in the uk it was fricking brilliant.i was a teenager in the 90s and i wouldn't change a single bit of it.i was 16 when this record came out.before downloads and itunes and all that stuff so u cant imagine the difficulty finding records like this back then.thank god for youtubby for bringing it all back.
