  • how the fuck do they do that...

  • They were gonna do this in Toronto

  • Coraline had the best advertising team :)

  • DDDDDUUUUUDDDDDDEEEEEEE XD

  • I remember seeing this while on the metro! I thought I was going crazy for a second- such a cool marketing campaign!

  • AWESOME!!

  • Too awesome. :D

  • We have the same thing in Boston between Harvard & Central. And they still show it today!

  • Whoa, that's so cool how they did it that way so you could see it animated!

  • so wait....they actually do that?

  • That is awesome! =D

Wish they had them where I live..

  • cool

  • haha that one is good but i prefer the nesquik ad one stop after this one

  • That´s awsome^^ I wished they ha dthose in Sweden...T.T

  • Dude! I love those ads!

  • Jeez that is one creative marketing campaign.

  • That is so darn clever. Animation 4 life yo!

  • Now THAT'S clever!

  • There were tons of things that didn't make sense in Coraline. Watch it again. Where do the duplicate dad and little boy on the other side come from? The dad and the little boy don't get captured. And yet, they are somehow prisoners trying to help Coraline. Then at the end, she captures the dad. So there are two dads on that side now?

    Makes no friggin sense.

  • Yeah, you idiot! She takes things that already exists, then twists and distorts them! And if there is a copy, then logically there is an original!

And if you didn't read the book, that alibi doesn't entirely cover the fact that some of the answers are explained with common sense.

  • If she can make copies of people why does she need to kidnap them? Just make copies and good to go. Shorter movie.

  • The Other Mother kidnapped them so that Coraline would think they have abandoned her and she would come back to her and then she would kill them or something. But I doubt she realized the cat helped Coraline in finding out they were kidnapped.

But you don't need logic to enjoy a good fantasy flick. If you don't like those kinds of movies, or at least the qualities of this movie that you don't like, then don't watch it!

  • i saw that one today! i told my mom but as soon as she turned around it was gone. i thought i was hallucinating. thnx for posting!

  • omg!!! they have that here in la from hollywood/highland to citywalk. when i saw it i thought i was tripping out! lol. it definitely left it's mark on peoples day!

  • i saw one in boston for the navy about a year ago, theyre pretty awesome.

  • That is really cool!

And I agree, it is the greatest advertisement I have ever seen.

  • I loved that movie :D

  • I didn't know what to expect from this, but that was amazing! Who says marketing can't be creative sometimes.

  • 2003 called, it's for you!

  • That is one of the coolest feats of advertising I've ever seen. Fantastic movie too.

  • It's been there for a few months actually, I'm glad someone put it on youtube tough. There is actually another one for Neslle Quick, with the rabbit and everything.

  • Yes, I've been meaning to film it for months! Finally got around to it! :-P

  • does anybody have a link to something that explains how this is made?

    Thanks in advance

  • its a sequence of posters lining the walls.

  • I understand this part, but I was a projectionist for 15 years. A projector has a shutter that spins precisely to block the projected image for a split second when the film is moving to prevent the image from being blurred. How do they accomplish this the subway-way?

  • the train moves a certain speed?

    its not rocket science.

more like a advanced flip book.

  • You notice it doesn't have a set frames-per-second. I assume it has some sort of filter so that it's most visible when you're directly across from it, so that until you're directly across from a frame it appears black, then "blinks" into visibility. Otherwise it would just look blurry, I think.

(I could be wrong! It may just blink on and off at specified intervals dependent on train speed, but that seems more expensive)

  • its a sequence of posters

  • great idea, & rad video! thanks!!

  • That is so cool! I love the DC Metro. <3

  • That's brilliant!

  • that is amazing. now i wish i had a subway...

  • Very cool!

  • That is totally cool - I love stuff like this - it makes me smile!

  • Every tunnel should have little movies!

  • Holy crap, that's the best thing I've seen all day. 8D

  • OH THAT'S AWESOME. What line is the ad on?

  • Red Line, in the direction of Glenmont

  • That is freaking awesome. I would have flipped out in glee on the train if I'd seen that by surprise.

  • What a wonderful idea!!

  • Holy shit that freakin' amazing! O.O Sometimes I wonder how these amazing ads are done. This is just... Wow... just wow...
