it very clean and obvious to use- but frustratingly lacks cell layer rotation. i don't animate but play a lot with this stuff- i figure blender can be used to better effect for cell placement scale,rotate,transform,warp,tr­ansparency in the sequence editor or in 3d space- to simulate scrolling effects and field depth. of course the images would be done in other software, but its superior to toonboom for mainulability- and free.

flipbook is much better, since you can switch between the frames by using your keys, the only disadvantage, is that it is not free. Trial is free, you guys should test it out.

@badazzEXE. I suppose it's possible, however, it would be very difficult. Check out some stuff by ToonBoom. That would be your best guest. But honestly, there are a lot more options out there.

@bb8497. Yes, you can in Pencil. On the right, there is an option for Alpha, which is a lot like transparency. The program is free, and you can download it through the link in the description.

The best way to use Pencil is with Gimp, and MyPaint ... after you save the animation you can open the png files for the frame in Gimp, or MyPaint edit them, and when you reopen the project in Pencil you'll see the changes you made... That is the best way to use this software...

ok, so i was able to download pencil, but whenever i want to go on, it would say something like :an error has occurred, try reinstalling this again." then windows will say that something was wrong and it will notify me when they find a solution (and we both know thats not gonna happen)

so what do i do???

@Bassisnevertooloud. Well, it is a FREE program. Free programs come with a "free" level of quality. If you really want something better, it might be time for you to move up to a nicer animation software. ToonBoom makes some good ones. :)

hey mind telling me where you got the mic and the thing infront of it and can you tell me what its called?

@Drganimation. No problemo. I got the microphone from Guitar Center, and the mic is the MXL 991. The mic picks up only what is directly in front of the mic, which is really great so it doesn't pick up a lot of noise from my keyboard. As for the thing in front of it, that is called a "pop filter", and they come in a million and a half different kinds. Just pick one that can meet your budget and has a long goose neck, pretty much the thing that attaches to the base. I hope this helped!

@Newbie481. Towards the bottom of the screen, there should be a button titled "Keys". Click the one that has a plus symbol, and this should add a new frame. :)

you should try using stykz animation software its fun, free, and easy! i make lots of videos with it you should check them out. look at the preview for my new one. i have pencil too by the way.

you should check and my stykz dday preview and wait for the whole thing comes out. Its really good and i was surprised i could do it at first.
