When I saw them in Galicia they had an interesting drummer. This seems more formal than ten years ago. And more boring. They are good but a little inexpresive now.
I don't thing is bad that I tell my opinion. But I'm tired of this kind of music. I'm from Galicia and I have to hear that everyday. I prefer something like John Renbourn if we talk about classic forms or Tannahill Weavers if we talk about traditional music. I insist they are good but a little bit boring and inexpresive. I liked them better ten years ago.
Your opinion counts. I was not trying to argue with you. I'm from the United States and have never had the privilege, as you have, of hearing Vasen live. I have seen lots of bluegrass, jazz, folk, some celtic, Cape Breton fiddling, and all I was saying was, Vasen's music soothes and refreshes me, but I understand your point, and is well taken.
O.K. I live in Nebraska even I'm from Galicia and I can understand that here music is most of times the same. Spain is different, my friend. You can find there the best and the worst but you won't have time to get bored. Listen to Jorge Pardo but the jazzman not a south american singer. That's feeling.
Music is VERY diverse here in America and not, "most of times the same". My point is, that's what makes music so great. It touches us all in many different ways as we listen, grow and feel. I love Vasen's music, and in their expression I find a respite where I can go and be recharged from the troubles of this world. They move me, EVERY time I listen to them, whether for five minutes or five hours. Thanks Vasen, for your contributions to my life!
It is just so beautiful!!! I just love it... It is just so different It makes me feel in another part of this world
