Norman wattroy is very much still alive and still playing regulary with wilkohnson hes also still with the blockheads who have got a great new album out
He came from Essex, in case you couldn't tell. His given name was Ian and his songs have lasted well....I remember having a drink with him in the Holiday Inn in Plymouth after a gig in about 1976. Great Guy. Oh and the Glastonbury Gig was brilliant too. Still got the T shirt somewhere.
I was in the front row when he sung this at Glastonbury. I remember when he first came out the lights went down and then they turned the laser on behind him with all the smoke and started playing...fantastic
was ment to c ian and the blockheads at Finsbury Park some years ago but my f@ing stupid ex sister in law posted teh bloody tickets to someone when she was at work sending out invoices ,they were supporting madness .But i have been lucky enough to see the blockheads 6 times in the last 2 years and was really lucky to be able to photograph themin milton keynes ...IAN DURY IS A LEGEND ..and the rest of the survivors rock Norman i love you
F the bassline? Goddamnit, 16 note to the bar bassline, it's awesome. The current Blockhead sax player, Gilad Atzmon, can also play two saxaphones at once. Every member of the Blockheads are very talented musicians.
the best performance i have ever seen, rain for three days, proper glastonbury
