i was bit by a copperhead 3 days ago. im 16 and had no idea what happened. i was walking through my yard at night and was wearing flip flops. luckily my dad was with me so we got to the hospital in about 15 minutes. they kept me at the hospital until thursday afternoon after running 3 bags of Anti-venom through my IV. copperheads are one of the most aggressive snakes in North Carolina. I was told by the doctors that i should be fine in a week or so. you never know where they are so be careful.

thank god it was a copperhead and not a cotton mouth moccasin now they have some very powerful venom. but just going thru an ordeal like this is something that most people would not want to face. sure hope she recovers and leads a long life and keep a wary eye out for snakes

...no really....my wife, 12 year old and 5 lb. yorki walked over a copperhead by accident this summer. It looked like a baseball bat lying there. It was getting dark and it was stretched across the sidewalk and we didn't see it till they were already across. They were very blessed not to have stepped on it. Dog must have hopped over it. whew!

copperheads have one of the weakest venoms..all this does is cause a little swelling like a bad bumble bee sting. antivenom is not required either.
