- Israelis wanted to install an observation camera

- a tree behind the security fence but still within the Israeli side of the blue line was blocking the view.

- The Idf forces cross the fence to cut the tree.

- Lebanese forces along with an APC, who apparently believed the IDF was on their side of the line opened fire, killing one IDF officer and injuring another.

- Israelis return fire, killing 3 Lebanese soldiers and a journalist.

That's a basic summary of what they are saying.

and they wanted to cross the fence to cut that tree blocking the view of the camera.

Lebanese forces warned the israelis soldiers to go back to their original postion.

Terrorists were using Lebanon as a launch pad for attacks on Israel, with the approval of the Lebanon government. What would the point be for Israel to attack Lebanon, they didn't gain land, peace, or approve their economy by doing so.
